Chapter 1 My Beautiful Mother and Elder Sister
Donghai Luoshan is the highest mountain in Qingyang Kingdom.
Luoshan is situated by the sea and is 20,000 feet high. To reach the summit, one must pass through a mirage and then climb a sheer cliff. It is said that only those of saintly stature can ascend Luoshan.
The mountainside is shrouded in mist day and night, and red walls and black tiles can be vaguely seen amidst the vast expanse of exotic flowers and plants on the mountaintop.
The house, beneath the black tiles, was filled with candlelight. The pale candles were arranged in small circles on the floor, with the candles near the table being longer, illuminating an old portrait hanging on the table.
The edges of the drawing paper are yellowed, as if the paint and the support that holds the lines together have been washed away after being soaked in water. So all you can see are the colorful colors, but you can't see the scene in the painting.
Scattered moonlight streamed down from the rooftop at night, falling on the cradle to the left of the table, where the infant in swaddling clothes just happened to open its innocent eyes to greet the moonlight.
One month.
It took Yu Sui a whole month to slowly accept the fact that she had become a baby.
Infants have very limited energy; they are either sleeping or sleeping and rarely awake.
She had just woken up, her dark eyes slowly turning as she realized she was still in this gloomy and eerie room.
There were maids guarding outside, who would occasionally open the door to check on Yu Sui's condition. After seeing Yu Sui open her eyes, the maid went to ask Madam Su for instructions.
Madam Su was her mother, and she only visited Yu Sui when she was sober.
As she entered through the door, Madam Su stood gracefully like a willow branch, her long hair cascading down her white silk robe. She had a pair of extremely dark pupils that appeared alluring against her pale skin and delicate figure.
Madam Su simply watched Yu Sui quietly, rarely speaking.
Yu Sui tried his best to act like a real baby, acting crazy and silly in an attempt to amuse Madam Su, including but not limited to giggling, drooling, and lying on his back.
She wanted to see a glimpse of a mother's contentment on that stunning face.
Madam Kesu remained calm and indifferent throughout, and today she only glanced at her briefly before leaving.
Yu Sui clenched her little fists regretfully.
At times like these, she would doubt whether she was truly Madam Su's child.
Fortunately, although her mother's thoughts were hard to fathom, she had a three-year-old older sister.
The older sister, Qingkui, also liked to visit Yu Sui when she was awake. She would often chatter with her and bring the flowers she picked outside close to cool her little sister's face. When Yu Sui giggled, the older sister would also laugh happily with her.
Not long after Madam Su left, a little girl dressed in a red jacket and long skirt, looking exquisitely beautiful, entered the room. Qingkui carefully avoided the circles of candlelight on the ground and came to the cradle. She had to stand on a footstool and tiptoe to see Yu Sui in the cradle.
"Flower".
Qingkui gently touched Yu Sui's cheek with the plum blossom that still had dew on it.
Yu Sui responded with a laugh, and Qing Kui also looked at her and smiled.
Although she couldn't tell whether she was playing with the child or the child was playing with her, Yu Sui quickly felt tired again and closed her eyes to fall asleep.
Logically, Yu Sui shouldn't have woken up again in the middle of the night, but she felt unbearably hot, as if she were being roasted over a fire. She couldn't help but twist her body in her swaddling clothes and raise her hands to cool down, but to no avail. Helpless and exhausted, she opened her eyes.
The moonlight remained, and in the gloomy, dim room, this beam of moonlight seemed to have come just for her. Yu Sui's extremely dark pupils reflected the light, and she suddenly felt something was strange.
It's not unusual to see dust particles floating in the beam of light.
But now these dust particles were stained with color, and they moved much faster than usual, gradually turning into burning sparks in Yu Sui's eyes.
Strangely, she wasn't afraid at all.
Sparks fell upon her in the beam of light, causing no burning pain, but Yu Sui's mind conjured up an image of stars shattering:
Countless meteors fell from the sky, and the inextinguishable flames burned everything in the world to ashes.
Everything collapsed and screamed in agony; skyscrapers crumbled, the earth cracked, and everywhere one looked was a scene of hell on earth.
Black ash danced in the sparks, countless ashes connecting to form numerous long chains, chasing after the five twisted figures in the sea of fire.
Yu Sui heard the intermittent, twisted, and ferocious voice of a demon:
"The Destroyer of Worlds".
"Strange Fire".
"you."
"Exterminate them all."
Yu Sui snapped back to reality in an instant. The moonlight was still there, but there were no sparks in the beams of light, as if it had just been an illusion. However, a flame burning deep in her mind told her that it was real.
...No, really?
Yu Sui slowly rolled her eyes, trying to look for something around her, feeling somewhat dazed.
Starting from scratch in another world is hard enough, but suddenly you're told that you're actually a great demon who will destroy the world and is being hunted by the whole world, and I'm just a baby who's only a month old!
Yu Sui clenched her little fist. What am I supposed to do to destroy the world? With my baby-sized fist?
That's not a good idea.
As Yu Sui was pondering, she suddenly heard a loud bang, which startled her so much that the hairs on her body stood on end. She tried to look towards the door.
There were two streaks of blood on the door, and blood flowed into the room through the crack in the door. The maid guarding the door was covered in blood and silently slid to the ground against the door.
Yu Sui heard the pleasant sound of a long sword being drawn from its sheath.
The baby inside the room dared not breathe or move.
I just found out I'm a world destroyer, and the people chasing me are already at my doorstep?
Just as Yu Sui was considering whether to call for Madam Su's help, she heard Madam Su's cold voice coming from outside the door:
"You're not a saint, yet you've managed to break through to the summit of Mount Luo with only the thirteenth realm. You're lucky you've made it this far without dying."
Since Yu Sui couldn't see what was happening outside, he pricked up his ears and listened carefully.
The man outside coughed twice and said in a hoarse voice, "You are also at the thirteenth realm, aren't you also on the summit of Mount Luo?"
Lady Su said, "I can live, but you cannot."
The old man in black robes chuckled, wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, and raised his sword, his shadow swaying slightly on the ground. He stood in the moonlight in the courtyard, staring at Madam Su in front of the house, and said, "It's hard to say. If I can get here, do you think others can't? As long as your children don't die, there will always be people coming."
"There are many, if not many, people of the nine streams and thirteen realms in the world."
Yu Sui, who was inside the room, rolled her eyes. It seemed that the problem wasn't that her identity as the destroyer of the world had been exposed, which led to her death. The problem lay with Madam Su.
Madam Su's extremely dark pupils shone brightly in the night, like burning starlight. Gone was the calm and aloofness of the daytime, replaced by a cold killing intent.
She said, "It's a pity. At your age, if you hadn't come here, you might have been able to become a saint."
Yu Sui heard the sound of swords being drawn and clashing again, each sound crisp and clear, carrying immense power, as if cleaving the heavens and splitting the earth.
Madam Su expressed her regret, but her deadly moves showed no sign of pity for others. The candlelight flickered inside the room, and the shadows of the fighting outside were reflected in the doors and windows, changing rapidly and dazzling the eyes.
Yu Sui also wanted to see even a little bit, but unfortunately, she was willing but unable to do so; she couldn't even turn the tables right now.
All she could hear was the sound of the wind, the fierce wind, and the loud banging on the door. The old man in black robes tried to bypass Madam Su and break down the door, but he was blocked outside and could not take another step.
This black-robed old man, who was at the ninth level of the thirteenth realm, crossed mirages and climbed cliffs. By the time he reached the mountain peak, he was already severely injured by the cold clouds and frost of Luoshan. But he still disregarded his own life and death and used his last breath to complete his mission.
Two figures had arrived at the door, but the door was not open. Inside the room, a large number of candles were pressed down and tilted to one side, the flames were bent over and suddenly went out.
The sound of swords clashing seemed to be right next to Yu Sui's ears. The door was broken, and someone fell heavily to the ground, spitting blood.
A slender figure in white stood at the doorway, looking down.
The old man in the black robe gradually lost his luster in his eyes, and blood flowed continuously from his mouth. He seemed to want to say something in the end, but he couldn't utter anything.
Yu Sui, still in her swaddling clothes, remained quiet and motionless.
It seems to be over.
What should I do in this situation if I am a one-month-old baby?
Yu Sui hesitated for a moment, then let out two cries, indicating that as a baby, she was frightened.
When Madam Su heard the child crying, her gaze shifted from the old man in black robes to Yu Sui. As she entered the room, she raised her hand to hold the flowers, and the candles on the floor were relit.
The room was brightened again, and Yu Sui saw Madam Su walking up to her. She grinned at her, trying to get close to her mother for what seemed like the umpteenth time.
Madam Su stared at her for a while, and as Yu Sui giggled, she slowly reached out her hand to her.
Yu Sui thought that Madam Su was going to pick her up.
She maintained her smile as she watched those slender, white fingers approach and fall towards her neck.
Huh?
Madam Su reached out and grabbed Yu Sui by the neck.
Hey!
Madam Su's clear eyes revealed her determination. She tightened her grip on Yu Sui's neck, just as they both heard Qing Kui's voice from outside: "Mother!"
"Flower!"
"These flowers are for my little sister!"
When Qingkui appeared outside the door, Madam Su immediately stopped, and for a moment she was dazed after seeing the delicate little girl at the door.
"Another person has died?" Qingkui stood at the door, too afraid to go in.
Madam Su walked towards her, her tone gentler than she had ever been towards Yu Sui: "Kui'er, come on, don't stay here."
Qingkui, still confused, took Madam Su's hand and left.
Neither of them turned around.
As Madam Su listened to her daughter's curious questioning about who had died this time, her expression became somewhat dazed, and a scene from before flashed through her mind:
When she grabbed the child, her dark eyes were still smiling, completely unaware that her life was hanging by a thread.
The new maid took the dead maid away, and after closing the door, Yu Sui was left alone in the room again.
As the rekindled candlelight flickered, rings of fire appeared on the ground, invading the bloodline of the deceased old man in black robes and turning him to ashes.
Yu Sui gazed at the moonlight and blinked slowly; no one could discern any emotion or thought in those eyes.
She thought:
My neck hurts so much.
Madam Su did not visit Yu Sui for a whole month, nor did she encounter any more assassination attempts. Even Qing Kui only came intermittently.
While she was still lucid, Yu Sui tried to figure out the current situation:
I learned from the assassination attempt that night that she lived in a place called the summit of Mount Luo, and that the assassins were from the Nine Streams and Thirteen Realms, and their target was to kill Madam Su's children.
It means there's no need to kill Lady Su.
Why did Madam Kesu want to kill me?
If she hadn't seen Madam Su on the day she was born and confirmed their parentage, given Madam Su's different treatment of her and Qingkui, Yu Sui would have suspected that she wasn't Madam Su's biological child.
It would be understandable if they weren't one's biological child.
What is the reason that he can be so heartless to his own daughter?
Yu Sui couldn't understand why, as a baby with zero self-defense capabilities, even if Madam Su wanted to kill her, she couldn't do anything but lie down and let herself be pinched.
She found it somewhat amusing as she thought about it, muttering to herself: "Someone like me can be killed with a simple pinch, I don't have any cheat codes or protagonist halo, yet I'm called a world destroyer?"
ill!
Forget about the protagonist's halo; my character is clearly a villain that a righteous protagonist has to defeat to win the game.
Yu Sui closed her eyes, calmed her mind, and separated her consciousness. Looking from the outside in, she saw the cluster of flames, about the size of a fingernail, that had never been extinguished deep in her mind.
Although this thing looks like a cheat code, it can only be seen, not touched, summoned, or communicated with, and its purpose is currently unknown.
Yu Sui couldn't even be sure if it was the "strange fire" that would destroy the world.
More than a cheat code, it's a mark.
If it's a different kind of fire, how do you summon it to trigger the world's destruction?
Thinking about it carefully, there are five World Destroyers in total, which means that besides her, there are four other unfortunate people. Could the World Destroyers have a special way of contacting each other?
Perhaps fighting alone won't work; you need to gather five of them to trigger the apocalypse.
Yu Sui yawned and before falling asleep, she suddenly saw the flame flash, and a small black dot slowly rotating in the fire appeared.
Several voices echoed in her mind:
"Hey, which unlucky guy is about to die this time?"
"Why weren't you more careful?"
"Cough cough..."
Yu Sui instantly perked up, forcing herself not to fall asleep.
The hoarse, coughing male voice sounded like he wasn't in good shape. He coughed for a while before finally asking in a hoarse voice, "Who... are you?"
The first casual male voice said, "The destroyer of the world."
The second, gentle old man's voice also said, "When the Destroyer dies, it will resonate through the Fire Spirit Orb."
A fourth, androgynous voice asked, "How did you die?"
A hoarse male voice chuckled softly, "...burnt to death."
"Damn it!" the first male voice shouted, "I have no water here!"
Before Yu Sui could even ask what the connection was, the burning pain of being burned came without warning. After an initial mental blank, the baby's screams and cries almost lifted the roof off.
The maid who was guarding the door rushed in to check.
Yu Sui's bones and flesh were being roasted by the raging fire, and unable to suppress the pain, he could only scream and howl in agony.
pain!
It hurts!
Ouch! ...
