Chapter 163 Your Blade Spirit is Online
Mei Liangyu withdrew his gaze without changing his expression. "Good, no need to save him."
"What are you standing there for? Get up there!" Mei Liangyu said to the two people soaking in the water.
Xing Chun asked him in a low voice, "Was our timing right to go up there?"
Mei Liangyu said, "Then let them wait to die in the water."
Xing Chun and Zhong Lishan then moved closer to the shore and climbed onto the Buddha statue. During this time, they asked Yu Sui, "Why are you here? You've come at just the right time! Your senior brother has been poisoned, and we're short-handed to take care of him."
“My senior brother hadn’t returned for a long time, so I came to find him. On the way, I encountered the strange phenomenon in the sea eye, which alarmed the Mechanism Island and the Academy’s saints. I then secretly followed the Mechanism family’s ship here.” Yu Sui pointed upwards. “When I heard the noise of the broken ice, I rushed over here and found that all the fires around here had been extinguished, which allowed me to enter smoothly.”
"It's out?" Xing Chun was startled when he heard this. He went up to the Buddha statue and looked around.
The rings of sea fire that were previously attached to the stone wall have indeed disappeared.
Zhongli Shan asked curiously, "Can this underground river water extinguish those sea fires?"
The fire was extinguished by Yu Sui, but it would be more convincing and understandable to say that it was extinguished by ice water, thus avoiding any suspicion.
Mei Liangyu went up last, and Yu Sui's gaze remained fixed on him, her eyes following his every move. Only when Mei Liangyu reached her side did she ask, "Senior brother, where are your clothes?"
This question stumped all three of them.
Yu Sui looked up at Mei Liangyu, who was shirtless, and was about to turn her head to look at the two people behind her when Mei Liangyu reached out and hooked her neck, turning her back: "You know you're not wearing any clothes and you still look behind you, how impolite."
Yu Sui, who had been told she was being impolite, widened her eyes.
Mei Liangyu stared at her and asked, "Did you come down from the ship belonging to the Ji family?"
Yu Sui nodded and briefly recounted her experiences along the way, concealing her relationship with Zhang Xiangyun and the others, and not mentioning that Nian Qiuyan was also there. She only said that she had come with Li Jinshuang.
Although Mei Liangyu felt that she was lying, with Xing Chun and Zhong Lishan present, she did not expose her or press her for details. Instead, she quietly explained to Yu Sui why the clothes were missing.
"It's so lively up there?" Xing Chun and Zhong Lishan decided to go up and take a look, and also to pick up some clothes. Before leaving, they told Mei Liangyu, "You wait here. Junior Sister Nangong, keep an eye on him and don't let him use his Five Elements Qi again. If the poison takes hold and invades his internal organs, it'll be all over."
Yu Sui said seriously, "Yes! I will keep a close eye on my senior brother."
Xing Chun and Zhong Lishan used their wind-riding technique to ascend, leaving the Panlong Grottoes and arriving at the stone passage entrance damaged by the sea eye. Xing Chun turned his head to look down, and all he saw was darkness.
Zhongli Shan said, "Why are you scaring Nangong Sui?"
There is no such thing as poison invading the internal organs.
Xing Chun said, "Look how cooperative Meimei is, she didn't offer a single explanation, and I always feel that she's a bit too strict with Nangong Sui."
Zhong Lishan thought for a moment and nodded, "Indeed."
Xing Chun said decisively, "He definitely has feelings for Nangong Sui!"
Zhong Lishan nodded again, saying, "Indeed."
Xing Chun walked into the cave entrance and said, "Let him embarrass himself in front of Nangong Sui while he's naked."
Zhong Lishan thought to himself, "Given Mei Liangyu's temper, she probably doesn't think it's shameful."
Inside the grotto, the water rippled, and pieces of ice constantly rolled out from the depths, making a crisp sound.
Yu Sui took Mei Liangyu's hand and examined it, then asked him, "Senior brother, what kind of poison have you been poisoned by?"
Mei Liangyu said, "Chun'er is lying to you, it's not that serious."
Yu Sui frowned and asked, "What kind of poison is that?"
Mei Liangyu said, "Six-Headed Wood or Milky Way Water."
"Did you get the Milky Way Water?" Yu Sui asked in surprise.
Mei Liangyu raised an eyebrow slightly: "I was just trying my luck, but I didn't expect to actually find it."
"What does it look like?" Yu Sui asked curiously, wanting to see.
Mei Liangyu then took out the Six-Element Wood containing the Milky Way Water from the mechanical box and handed it to her. Yu Sui didn't reach out, but leaned over to examine it. Her cool, dark hair fell onto Mei Liangyu's wrist, and her head rested on his shoulder, causing Mei Liangyu to lower his eyes and look at her.
"How amazing!" Yu Sui stared at the tiny hairs on the Six-Mystic Wood branch. "Senior brother, now that you've found the Milky Way Water, what are you planning to do with it?"
Mei Liangyu asked her, "What do you think I should do?"
"Isn't it supposed to be given to the academy?" Yu Sui turned to look at him, gazing into Mei Liangyu's eyes. "The Milky Way Water is used to create Orchid Poison; we have no use for it."
Mei Liangyu said, "Then use it to make orchid poison. How can that be considered useless?"
Yu Sui was stunned by these words and couldn't figure out what Mei Liangyu meant. She looked at Mei Liangyu's face, which still had traces of water, and couldn't see any hint of a joke.
"Senior brother," Yu Sui called softly.
Mei Liangyu was looking at the Six-Headed Wood in his hand and didn't hear.
Yu Sui grabbed Mei Liangyu's other hand and shook it. Mei Liangyu then turned to look at her, put away the Six-Mystic Wood, and said, "There are still some things that are on my mind underwater. I'll go down again."
"What is it?" Yu Sui asked.
Mei Liangyu couldn't say for the time being, only saying, "I'll take a look first and then come back."
Seeing Mei Liangyu re-enter the water, Yu Sui rested his chin on his hands, his eyes as black as lacquer against the backdrop of countless blazing fires, gazing thoughtfully into the water.
Senior Brother's state was like that of someone who hadn't woken up yet, full of hostility. Although I knew that Senior Brother was not kind and his behavior was difficult to distinguish between good and evil, what he said about Yinhe Water was still somewhat unexpected.
Was he planning to use the Milky Way water to help Nian Qiuyan?
Between the Milky Way and the Autumn Goose, Senior Brother would definitely choose the Autumn Goose.
Yu Sui blinked as she pondered, manipulating the flowing fire in the water with one hand to change its direction and gather it towards the dangerous area of the airflow, thus illuminating the way for Mei Liangyu in the water.
She sat on the Buddha statue, pondering who had come to the water boat and how they would explain the sea eye and the sea fire. Just as she was engrossed, the strange fire suddenly flickered, telling her that someone was approaching.
This person approached silently like a ghost, landing behind Yu Sui and freezing the five elements of energy around her, giving her no chance to react.
As soon as Yu Sui looked up, she saw the black and gold long staff held against her neck and throat, with a sharp blade at the tip that was close to her skin. The slightest movement would cut through her flesh and cause blood to splatter everywhere.
Lin Chenghai, with Wen Yangzhou's face, stared at Yu Sui with a forced smile, and said through slightly gritted teeth, "Little girl, you came pretty fast."
"Senior?" Yu Sui feigned surprise and delight, slowly raising her hand and saying, "I was just talking about you with my senior brother. I didn't expect we'd meet so soon."
"Your senior brother?" Lin Chenghai glanced behind him out of the corner of his eye. "Where is your senior brother?"
"He went into the water, saying he discovered something that's bothering him." Yu Sui pointed to the long stick pressed against his throat. "Senior, what do you mean by this?"
Lin Chenghai was so angry he wanted to grind his teeth. He glared at Yu Sui and asked, "Who is Nangong Ming to you?"
Yu Sui slightly widened her eyes, but under Lin Chenghai's angry glare, her momentum gradually weakened, and she innocently said, "He is my father."
Lin Chenghai then asked, "Your name is Nangong Sui?"
Yu Sui raised her hand and nodded very lightly.
She wanted to see if this man dared to actually kill her young master's junior sister.
"What merit do I have to meet Princess Nangong here?" Lin Chenghai said sarcastically, pointing the tip of his stick downwards to knock Yu Sui back. "Today I want to see what kind of skills Princess Nangong, who is rumored to be a master of martial arts, has learned in Taiyi."
Just as Yu Sui regained his footing, Lin Chenghai arrived in a flash. The staff in his hand was flexible and varied, with dense dots. When he struck the Buddha statue, the brief rebound caused the entire statue to tremble, creating waves on the water.
"If your father didn't teach you the Nine Schools of Famous Arts, wouldn't your master have taught you the Nine Schools of Ghostly Arts?" Lin Chenghai swept his staff horizontally with one hand, blocking Yu Sui's retreat. "If all you do in a crisis is run away, how can you hold onto your position as the heir of the Nangong family?"
Yu Sui stepped back from the Buddha statue's wrist to its shoulder, and after regaining his footing, he said, "Senior, you are at the thirteenth realm, while I am only at the third realm. If I fight you and don't run away, that would be overestimating my abilities."
"Enough with the nonsense, show me your real skills!" Lin Chenghai held his stick in both hands, his expression cold. "If you keep running like this, you'll die by my hand."
Surely the Sage Changgen couldn't have taught her nothing!
Yu Sui looked at him sadly: "Senior, are you like those people, wanting to kill me and take the Breath Soil after you found out I am Nangong Ming's daughter?"
Seeing her distressed appearance, Lin Chenghai felt a pang of sympathy, but then remembered that she was Nangong Ming's daughter. He reaffirmed his decision, and without answering, made his move directly.
Although the Buddhist Crossing Step is a technique that does not involve fighting, Lin Chenghai used it as an attack at this moment, combined with the staff techniques in his hand, making Yu Sui very embarrassed to dodge.
Yu Sui knew that there was another person watching from the shadows. Hu Gui was calm and collected, but much more difficult to deal with than Lin Chenghai.
Hu Gui is a sorcerer of the Ghost Dao school; even if she uses spirit-capturing techniques, she will be stopped.
Lin Chenghai caught up with Yu Sui and struck her with his staff. At the same time, a huge wave rose from the water, drowning out the sound of the bell. However, Lin Chenghai still caught the faint sound. He was surprised that Yu Sui had mastered the Heavenly Secret Technique before reaching the third realm. He quickly sealed his seven senses to avoid being controlled by Yu Sui.
During Lin Chenghai's brief pause, Yu Sui grabbed the staff with one hand, attempting to disarm him. Lin Chenghai raised his hand, released it, and tossed the staff aside with a flick of his wrist. The staff trembled and hummed, the force of which was so great that it flung Yu Sui's hand away.
"Ghostly Dao Heavenly Secrets, Spirit Capture, little girl, you do have some skills." Lin Chenghai chuckled, then disarmed Yu Sui with one hand, before striking her side.
Yu Sui was knocked down, clinging to the Buddha statue's finger with one hand, her toes almost touching the water. She looked up and asked, "Senior, do you really want to kill me for the Breath Soil?"
Lin Chenghai tapped her hand, which was dangling from the Buddha statue, with his staff and sneered, "So what if I really want to kill you and take the Breath Soil?"
Yu Suiban said angrily, "Then I really misjudged you, senior."
"Your parents schemed against Yan Manfeng, taking the Breath Soil from him and severely injuring him, making Yan a prey for the other countries. I want to take the Breath Soil back, and you're still not convinced." Lin Chenghai squatted down, his eyes as black as ink, filled with gloom and murderous intent, staring at Yu Sui and saying, "If you're really not convinced, I'll have your parents take it back."
"Hey!" Yu Sui stopped him when she saw him about to make a move. "My senior brother is still here. If you kill me, he will immediately avenge me."
Seeing her angry yet pitiful appearance, Lin Chenghai became even more determined to scare Yu Sui. He sneered, "Don't worry, I'll explain this to your senior brother properly. He'll definitely understand what I'm saying."
"Senior brother!" Yu Sui shouted before he could finish speaking, "Someone wants to kill me and steal the Breath Soil! I can't beat him!"
Lin Chenghai was on guard for a moment, looked around, and seeing nothing amiss, turned to glare at Yu Sui and said, "You little brat."
"Get out of the way!" Hu Gui, who was hiding in the shadows, warned when something unusual happened, but it was too late.
Purple lightning followed the underwater fire, forming a line that flashed towards Yu Sui. It gathered around Yu Sui's five elements and arrived in front of him with lightning speed. In his haste, Lin Chenghai only had time to draw half a screen in front of him with his staff before clashing with the Taoist Heavenly Gang Earthly Fiend Lightning. The two collided, and the purple lightning bent the staff at eyebrow level, sending Lin Chenghai flying.
He attacked with a deadly move right from the start; he was in a hurry!
Lin Chenghai gripped the staff in the backhand and thrust it into the ground. The staff, level with his eyebrows, left a long scratch on the Buddha statue. Purple lightning, like a dragon, leaped and overturned the sky and sea. Lin Chenghai exerted force again, and the Buddha statue was struck and shook, knocking Yu Sui, who was hanging on the Buddha statue with one hand, into the water.
The water was icy cold, and the sudden fall made Yu Sui shiver.
The fire in the water stood still, dispelling the darkness. Yu Sui opened her eyes and could see the water rippling. Just as she was about to move, she heard a faint sound of water beside her ear.
It sounds like the startled cry of a fish swaying in the wind, or the piercing cry of rain falling from the sky.
Yu Sui was immersed in the sound, staring blankly at the shimmering water curtain. The water rippled in his eyes, black and white flowed, the fish tails intersected, and finally turned into a huge black shadow.
Gazing at the dark figure, Yu Sui felt an indescribable familiarity spreading from the depths of her heart. It seemed that in the countless days and nights when she was burned by the strange fire, her consciousness kept fleeing into the deeper darkness, trying to find a place where she could rest peacefully. The sound of water was the guide that had been tempting her all these years.
This enormous black sword shadow obscured all light and shadow above the water curtain. Out of the corner of her eye, Yu Sui saw a black, withered hand reach out from behind her and grasp the black sword shadow.
