Mingzhu handed a piece of paper to Shanshui and said.
"Go back and tell Master Ji that I'll go to his place at noon."
After reading the paper, Shanshui said to Mingzhu.
"Okay. I'll be leaving first then!"
Mingzhu waved her hand and turned away.
Shanshui looked at the paper in his hand, pursed his lips, folded it, put it in his arms, and went to his own shop.
There were a bunch of names written on the paper, and the format was based on the household registration files of the government office.
The household registration of the Mo family in Linhai Village 2, Anlin County, Fuzhou Prefecture.
Among them was the name of his father Mo Hui.
The Mo family's population recorded in the government household records was small, consisting of twelve people: an elderly couple, three sons, an unmarried daughter, three daughters-in-law, two grandsons and one granddaughter.
His father is the youngest son and his mother is from the neighboring village.
According to household registration records, the third daughter-in-law of this family was pregnant when the pirates persecuted her.
Shanshui calculated his birthday and found it matched exactly.
But he always felt something was wrong.
If we go by the household registration records, the Mo family is an ordinary family. Then why does his father Mo Hui have such good kung fu skills and own so many shops and houses?
So, he decided to ask Ji Mingxuan to see if the survey results could be trusted.
…
At noon, Shanshui asked Dashuan and Xiaoshuan to buy things and return to the village, while he walked to the county government office by himself.
The person at the door received instructions and took him to Ji Mingxuan's backyard.
"Shanshui, come quickly. The cook has just prepared some snacks. Let's have a couple of drinks."
When Ji Mingxuan saw the person, he quickly invited him into the house.
"Where's Takeru?"
Shanshui walked in and asked.
"He's still being interrogated in the cell. You know what, Wu's interrogation methods are really unique! Do you want to go and see?"
Ji Mingxuan asked with a smile.
"Forget it. Master Ji, I came here to ask..."
"Don't be impatient! Come sit down and let's talk while we eat."
Before Shanshui finished speaking, Ji Mingxuan pulled him to sit down.
The kitchen staff also came over with some side dishes and a pot of wine.
"I have some important things to do soon, so I won't drink with you for a long time. Let's just have a couple of small drinks!"
Ji Mingxuan was still wearing his official uniform and poured a glass of wine for Shanshui with a smile.
"You kid, you can actually hold it in!"
Ji Mingxuan picked up the wine glass and said with a smile.
"Um?"
Shanshui was stunned, not quite understanding what Ji Mingxuan meant.
"Your father left you so many shops and houses. I really didn't know about this because you didn't let me check on your family this time! Are you still trying to lie to me?"
Ji Mingxuan clinked glasses with Shanshui, took a sip, and then picked up some food to eat.
"Can you even find this?"
The mountains and rivers suddenly become clear.
"Of course. I was planning to go to the village tonight and tell you, but I wasn't sure if I could finish my work by then, so I asked Mingzhu to take the letter back to you. Your father's properties are all recorded. Now the shops are rented out, and the house is empty. Did you hide anything from Ayue?"
Ji Mingxuan took a few bites of food and answered.
"Ayue knows. Even my parents don't know. Ayue said not to tell them yet."
Mountains and rivers.
"I'm glad you didn't hide it from Ayue. Come, have a drink, and I'll tell you what the person who brought back the news said!"
Ji Mingxuan poured more wine.
Shanshui picked up the wine glass and clinked it with others, then raised his head and drank it all in one gulp.
"Your father was such a great man! It's a shame I can't get to know him anymore!"
After drinking a glass of wine, Ji Mingxuan sighed.
