Chapter 34

Chapter 34

Zhou Wangchuan withdrew his hand and asked, "Does it hurt?"

Her lower abdomen was white and tender, and it immediately turned red after one punch.

Shang Mu looked at him in a daze.

Zhou Wangchuan leaned over and placed a kiss on the slightly undulating belly. He stood up, his eyes deep, and asked again, "Does it hurt?"

The long reflex arc finally completed its full course, and the pain arrived late. Shang Mu regained consciousness from his memories and subconsciously covered his abdomen. His face was pale, but he couldn't help but tremble with pleasure.

What comes before the physical pleasure is the satisfaction and excitement in the heart.

Zhou Wangchuan frowned slightly and reached out to touch his forehead to confirm that the temperature was normal. "Why aren't you talking?"

"...Hmm." Shang Mu blinked, took his hand and held it tightly, pressing his stomach, and called softly, "Senior..."

He was even better at using his strengths than he had been in college, his voice soft and sweet, incredibly pleasant. Plus, after more than six years together, he knew exactly how to flirt with Zhou Wangchuan.

He whispered coquettishly, "I drank too much and my stomach is upset. It's bothering me. Please help me beat it up."

But he failed to flirt.

Zhou Wangchuan raised an eyebrow, easily broke free from his restraints, and grabbed his wrist. His voice was gentle, but his tone was unquestionable: "You said, only hit once."

"Really? I don't remember..." Shang Mu touched his hot cheek and ear bones, "But I still feel uncomfortable. I can't work. What should I do with the design draft? Won't you help me..."

Zhou Wangchuan observed his expression carefully. Although he was slightly tipsy, his eyes were clear and he lay relaxed on the soft sofa. He had been a spiky hedgehog just moments before, but now he looked like a lazy, sated cat, every hair drooping softly.

You're cheating.

Zhou Wangchuan smiled and remained unmoved: "Then I'll find you some medicine."

"By the way, that wasn't an equal exchange." Zhou Wangchuan leaned over and put his nose close to his. "You haven't told me what happened to you as a child."

As they got so close, Shang Mu's eyes rolled around and he spoke incoherently: "I've already said that."

Zhou Wangchuan said, "Where did I say that? Don't cheat."

Shang Mu couldn't hide, so he started to play tricks openly: "Don't you want to be my psychiatrist? I gave you a clue, so you guess."

Zhou Wangchuan looked at him helplessly. Shang Mu leaned on the sofa and tried to get up, but was pressed back down by his shoulders: "Lie down."

"Aren't you feeling unwell after drinking? I'll get you something to sober you up." Zhou Wangchuan stood up and walked towards the kitchen.

Shang Mu lay on the sofa, watching the lights on in the kitchen and the busy figures. He touched his lower abdomen, where the lingering pain of pleasure still lingered. This was the first time he wasn't lying in the cold, empty hotel room, but on a soft, warm sofa, covered with the thin blanket Zhou Wangchuan had draped over him.

After a while, Zhou Wangchuan came over with a cup of warm honey water and a pill for Shang Mu to take.

There was still a pool of wine and broken glass in front of the TV cabinet. Zhou Wangchuan first swept the glass clean and then mopped the floor.

When dragging for the second time, his waist was hugged from behind, and Shang Mu's muffled voice came: "You hit me to treat me, it does not violate your principles and bottom line."

Zhou Wangchuan held the hand on his waist and turned around: "Why are you up? Are you feeling better after taking the medicine?"

"Much better." Shang Mu looked at him and asked, "How about you?"

Zhou Wangchuan said: "I'm fine too."

Shang Mu said "Oh" and then asked, "Are you sure?"

Zhou Wangchuan looked at him and suddenly smiled: "What are you thinking about, silly?" He held Shang Mu's face and kissed his lips, "Don't you still need to revise the design draft? Go ahead, call me if you need anything."

Sitting back at the desk, Shang Mu became calm and happy, and his blocked inspiration began to flow.

At two o'clock in the morning, Shang Mu finished revising the design draft.

At this time, Zhou Wangchuan's cell phone rang. He looked at the caller ID, put down the book in his hand, and answered the call without surprise.

He listened to the call, humming occasionally and tapping his fingertips lightly on his knee. The other party seemed to ask something, and he spoke a highly technical speech, as if debating with the other party. After a few minutes, the call was disconnected.

Shang Mu guessed: "Is it the one with the surname Xu?"

"Um."

"What did you say?"

"First, he scolded me, saying I was young and arrogant and acting on impulse," Zhou Wangchuan said. "Then he questioned my preoperative assessment and discussed a few unclear points with me."

"Then what?"

"Then?" Zhou Wangchuan said with a smile, "Then he said he didn't trust my experience and judgment and would perform the operation with me."

Shang Mu was about to say something when Zhou Wangchuan's phone rang again. He picked it up, said a few words, and hung up again.

"Who again?"

"Dean." Zhou Wangchuan turned off his phone. "He said Director Xu is old and stubborn, and his words are harsh, so I shouldn't mind it."

Shang Mu tutted his words, "What kind of a deal is this? One hung up and the other came calling, one playing the good cop and the other the bad cop, bullying a junior like you?"

Zhou Wangchuan laughed. "It doesn't matter. The patient has been urging me for a long time. This operation requires Director Xu's experience and cooperation. This is the most important thing."

Shang Mu wanted to say that he was pedantic, but he felt the light in his eyes, so he swallowed his words back.

It was late at night, but the two of them were sleeping soundly in each other's arms.

The surgery was scheduled for next Wednesday, which was the 25th day of the twelfth lunar month, the same day as Shang Mu's jewelry design competition.

That morning, Zhou Wangchuan drove Shang Mu to the company as usual. Before getting out of the car, Shang Mu said, "I wish you success."

Zhou Wangchuan smiled and said, "I wish you success too."

He grabbed Shang Mu's wrist, pulled him into his arms, and spoke carefully: "Baby."

Seeing his hesitation, Shang Mu narrowed his eyes and asked warily, "What did you do wrong? Tell me the truth."

Zhou Wangchuan laughed and said, "You told me before not to be a pedantic scholar, and I listened. So, you have to listen to me for once."

"Tell me what you want to hear first." Shang Mu was very cautious.

"You are not alone, you can rely on your family." Zhou Wangchuan said.

Shang Mu listened to this sentimental chicken soup, looked up and saw his expression was gentle and affectionate, so he swallowed back his joking words and said, "Okay. Then when I succeed, you have to give me a gift."

Zhou Wangchuan kissed the corner of his lips: "Okay."

This was an operation that lasted nearly ten hours.

The medical staff in surgical gowns were wrapped tightly, leaving only their eyes exposed, and they communicated through eye contact and a very limited amount of language.

Zhou Wangchuan's first collaboration with Xu Yong was surprisingly smooth and the cooperation was almost perfect.

There were two key moments in the operation, the first of which occurred three hours later. The two had already discussed this point, and after a brief exchange of glances, they confirmed each other's conclusions before Zhou Wangchuan began the operation.

Eight hours into the operation, the second node was encountered, which was a dangerous turning point of life and death.

The atmosphere was tense and anxious, and beads of sweat appeared on Zhou Wangchuan's forehead, but his hands remained precise and steady.

Zhou Wangchuan and Xu Yong discussed the second node several times before the operation, but they couldn't reach a conclusion. The decision needed to be made based on the specific clinical situation, relying entirely on experience and judgment within a few minutes.

Zhou Wangchuan took a deep breath, looked at Xu Yong, and spoke briefly. Fortunately, they both agreed.

Before proceeding, Xu Yong whispered, "If this fails, I'll take the lead on the responsibility." The two had discussed the surgery frequently these days, but never mentioned the argument in the conference room. His words now amounted to a subtle apology.

Zhou Wangchuan lowered his head and prepared to operate, and said softly: "Director, I believe that God is on our side."

The suture was completed at eight o'clock in the evening.

The lights in the operating room came on and the door opened.

The family members immediately gathered around anxiously to inquire about the situation. The nurse said, "The operation was successful. The situation still needs to be further observed."

The family member almost fell to the ground with a sigh of relief, tears in his eyes: "That's good, that's good, thank you, thank you doctor..."

Zhou Wangchuan took off his surgical gown and walked out of the operating room. A nurse immediately helped him sit down and brought him glucose water. After drinking it, he regained some strength. He raised his glass to Xu Yong, who was sitting on a bench more than ten meters away, with the bright smile of a young man. "Director Xu, I said, God is on my side."

Xu Yong didn't know whether he was too tired or too angry, but he didn't say anything to refute.

After resting for a while and eating something, Zhou Wangchuan almost recovered and drove away.

At this moment, the atmosphere at the jewelry design competition was tense.

The most outstanding young designers from various brands have introduced their works.

Shang Mu's creation is a necklace called "Deep Sea Blue." That night, inspired by red wine and pain, this necklace was born.

The deep blue is beautiful. I believe the ancient mermaids wore a necklace like this when they sang on the shore.

On the judges' panel, Shang Mu saw the headquarters design director, whom he had once beaten up. The man stared at him gloomily and cast his vote for the opponent whose votes were closest to his.

After the judges finished voting, Shang Mu and another designer's work received the same number of votes and tied for first place.

The key to victory lies in the last vote.

Before today's competition started, the organizers announced that a mysterious guest would be present today, choose his or her favorite work, buy it on the spot, and cast the final vote.

It is said that this guest spends more than 20 million yuan every year on custom-made clothes and accessories. He has a very high level of aesthetic taste and is recognized as a connoisseur in the industry.

The host said mysteriously that the guest was a lady from a famous family and many people should have seen her.

Everyone looked towards the entrance, and Shang Mu also stared at it closely.

His heart was beating fast, his fingers trembling slightly. He hadn't slept well in over a month, all because of worrying about today's game. This final vote would determine his victory or failure.

The mysterious guest came in from the door, but Shang Mu couldn't see clearly because of the backlight.

He loosened his clenched palms, and for a moment, he didn't care so much. He thought, whether it succeeded or failed, he would take a vacation and go on a trip with Zhou Wangchuan. He wanted to call Zhou Wangchuan to ask if the operation was successful.

It doesn't matter, he thought. Even if it fails, he still has plenty of time. When it's over, he will tell Zhou Wangchuan the same thing, if the operation fails.

Suddenly, Shang Mu saw the guest's face clearly and met his gentle yet playful gaze.

The mysterious guest Cheng Yunxuan walked to the voting station, pressed the voting button, and cast the final vote.

"You are not alone, you can rely on your family."

Shang Mu thought of his lover's gentle words this morning. He understood everything.
