Chapter 14: On the Dao
014 On Taoism
I thought Pei Dafa and the others took out the amulet to deal with the pig demon. After falling from the sky, Xiang Jiannan smiled and said to everyone:
"Don't be nervous. This pig demon may not be able to commit crimes again. Put down the amulet in your hand."
There was pride between his brows, as if it was written on his face that it was me, Xiang Jiannan, who subdued him.
Last night, he was crawling on the pig's back and saw the green grass in his master's hand connecting with the rain water. It was a very natural thing, but after a few glances, he felt a slight throbbing in his heart. He closed his eyes until the empty feeling in his mind disappeared. When he looked at the pig monster again, he felt that he had suddenly turned into a little cutie. For some reason, he grabbed the pig's ears with both hands and twisted it, causing him to completely collapse on the ground and unable to move.
The ear-twisting action looked easy, but it actually consumed all his energy. When the pig demon stopped breathing, he felt dizzy and lost his balance.
I have no idea what happened next.
"Little Taoist priest, are you still alive?"
Staring at Xiang Jiannan with half belief and half doubt, Pei Dafa showed the majesty of the mayor of Ping'an Town. He held the peace amulet in his hand and exerted force secretly, wanting to attack the little Taoist priest who came towards him.
He wanted to try and see if sticking the amulet on someone's forehead would work.
No one in the town was willing to set an example, and the only time they almost succeeded, they nearly lost their lives.
When the amulet was about to reach his forehead, the sleeping lady suddenly woke up and kicked herself in the stomach, driving him out of the house in the middle of the night. Fortunately, he still had the dignity of the head of the family and the protection of his identity as the mayor. After he knelt down and begged for mercy, the tigress only scolded him for half an hour and did not attack him again.
Now seeing that the young Taoist priest wanted to get closer to them, Pei Dafa thought that the experimental subject had arrived.
"Um?"
Seeing Pei Dafa coming towards him with the amulet in his hand, Xiang Jiannan did not stop but quickened his pace. When the distance between them was less than two inches, he tilted his body and raised his hand to draw a circle in the air.
Suddenly, a wisp of green gas appeared and wrapped around Pei Dafa's hand. When the green gas came into contact with the amulet, a series of sparks burst out.
It's like lighting firecrackers.
"Ouch, little Taoist priest, be gentle."
Pei Da felt an instant pain in his right hand and wailed as he quickly threw away the amulet. This young Taoist priest usually didn't look like a good person, and today he found that he was indeed the case.
However, it can also be concluded that the young Taoist priest approaching them is alive. His breathing is very heavy, and he can hear it when he tilted his head.
"Mayor, what are you doing?"
He just felt hot all over. How could Xiang Jiannan not understand Pei Dafa's idea? It was he who came up with the idea of sticking amulets on people's foreheads. It was a little naive to try it on himself.
The amulet was completely burned before it even hit the ground, which showed Xiang Jiannan's current level of Taoism.
How do you say, Master?
"Hehe, I was afraid that the Taoist priest didn't bring a lucky charm, so I wanted to give him one."
Rubbing his right palm and laughing dryly, Pei Dafa came up with a very lame excuse.
It was because I didn't sleep well last night that I was so obsessed with doing such a thing. In the final analysis, I can only blame the pig demon in the yard! In anger, he quickly ran into the yard and raised his foot to vent his anger.
You dare to make this mayor look bad in public? You deserve to die.
"Your cultivation has improved a lot."
Looking at the laborers who rushed into the yard one after another led by Pei Dafa, Gao Yuan felt that his apprentice must have something to say.
No one knows his disciple better than him. Although this kid doesn't say it, he must be very happy in his heart.
Being able to create green energy and activate the amulet at will is something that only a second-grade Dao Fruit can do. However, there is one thing he wants to make clear to everyone: the amulet really does not have the ability to harm people.
Amulet for peace, to ward off evil and avoid harm. After Li came here, these three words suddenly evolved into another meaning.
This made him, an old Taoist priest, very distressed.
When I first drew the amulet, I really didn’t think so much about it.
"Master, please show me,"
There was something in his heart that was not convenient to say openly, so Xiang Jiannan changed his words when he spoke: "My disciple only felt his mind touched last night, and when he opened his eyes again, he seemed to have some realization."
"This is natural. The purpose of practicing Taoism is to seek the connection between oneself and the world."
Talking to Xiang Jiannan, Gao Yuan himself felt that what he said was not quite right: "Take the heart as the source, absorb the energy of heaven and earth, every time you suddenly realize, the distance between you and heaven and earth is one step closer. If one day you can integrate into it, my Ping'an Temple will be another powerful one. At that time, the incense will continue, and the karma of offerings will be inexhaustible."
“That’s not what I meant.”
Xiang Jiannan felt that Gao Yuan's words were irrelevant, so he pointed to his head after he finished speaking: "There is something in my disciple's head!"
"That's morality. It's normal for us cultivators to have some things in our heads. I have them too, Master, but I just have a little more than you."
Please...you...collect_6Ⅰ9ⅠBookⅠBar (Six\\\Nine\\\Book\\\Bar!)
Is there such a specific morality? Thinking of the gossip that appeared in front of him last night, Xiang Jiannan hesitated whether he should confess to his master that the feeling he said was actually just this thing.
Last night, when I was on the back of the pig demon, I suddenly saw the Bagua appear out of thin air in front of my eyes. The water line coiled on the edge of the Yin-Yang fish slowly turned around, and finally a drop of water seeped into the part with the word "Shu". After lighting up the area with the word "Shu", it immediately turned into a ray of green light and shot into my eyebrows.
The whole thing happened quickly, and then he performed the heroic feat of subduing the pig demon.
"What level is your disciple at now?"
The final decision was to continue to conceal it, Xiang Jiannan asked again after Gao Yu'an's lecture.
He couldn't prove it, and felt it was unwise to tell it out. No matter how he thought about it, the gossip seemed to be a cheat. As a time traveler, confidentiality was the first principle.
I have already said it once.
"Daoguo first level, early stage."
He did not doubt Xiang Jiannan's ability to cross borders. Gao Yuan was pragmatic and calm. He did not think there was anything wrong with his disciple. His realm did not improve, he just did some cross-border things. Ever since his disciple was able to deal with the third-grade pig demon alone, I, an old Taoist, have been calm.
Pulling the ears is a common method used by farmers to catch pigs. I, an old Taoist priest, know this well about my own disciple.
He paid too much attention to the literal meaning, and the white smoke above his head went out as soon as he finished listening to what he said.
"Master, what should we do with this pig demon?"
After leading a group of laborers to kick, beat and scold the pig demon, Pei Dafa finally remembered his business after venting his anger.
A pig monster that big definitely cannot be kept in the Ping An Temple forever. The normal procedure is to report it first and then take it out and display it for a few days.
Regardless of whether he participated at the time or not, being able to subdue such a huge pig monster was a significant achievement for him as the mayor. Rewards were inevitable, and he might even get unexpected gains.
This Ping'an Temple has been in the town for so many years, and it has finally done something that makes it feel hopeful.
"It's all up to the mayor."
Gao Yuan knew as much about the entire process as Pei Dafa did, and turned around and said cheerfully. However, when he heard that the reward money would be donated to Ping An Temple, the wrinkles on his face could no longer be hidden.
Pei Dafa was able to become the mayor not just because of money, but also because of the way he handled the matter, in a very noble manner.
