Chapter 29 Review
029 Review
Mr. Li and his group ran very fast. When they saw off Master Yu'an and his apprentice Gao Yuan out of the pavilion, they said they would wait for them to come back. But when Xiang Jiannan returned with the shovel, there was no sign of a person except the torch.
The stone table was deserted, and none of the wine and food were taken away.
So how do we get back?
After entering the pavilion and taking a big sip of wine, Xiang Jiannan no longer felt hungry.
He was more concerned about how he and his master would get back later. What Mr. Li did was not right.
He asked two Taoist priests to dig up his ancestral grave in the middle of the night, and after patting his chest for assurance, they actually ran away halfway. Either he had something to hide, or something unexpected happened.
Considering his previous impression of Mr. Li, Xiang Jiannan thought that the accident was unlikely to happen.
Mr. Li has a face that shows he is trying to survive, and judging from his appearance, he can last a long time. Instead of expecting something unexpected to happen to him, you might as well take care of yourself first.
Without the carriage, it would take who knows how many hours to walk back to Ping'an Temple.
The most important thing is that he doesn't really know the way back. If his master doesn't remember it, Xiang Jiannan can accept spending the night in the pavilion.
After coming out of the cemetery, his whole mentality changed immediately. Although he encountered an unexpected change, it did not affect Xiang Jiannan's mood and he recovered.
This was how the Taoists of the Zhou Dynasty were. They had to face unknown creatures from time to time. Now that the strange things have been eliminated, under the influence of alcohol, that kind of momentum has returned.
The master said there was basically no need to look any further, as they had done a great job in the task entrusted by Mr. Li. After two shovels, they could basically conclude that the monster that had harassed his ancestors had left. As for whether it would come back in the future, that was not something they should worry about.
The black shadow ran straight towards the east, and seemed to be liberated when it left.
"How are we going to get back later?"
Sitting aside and watching his master wolfing down his food, Xiang Jiannan had to remind him of this very realistic problem.
The cold meat can still be eaten with relish, but I really don’t have that kind of delicacy. Now I just want to get back to Ping An Temple and take a hot bath as the master said. Or maybe cold water, as the hot water needs to be processed.
"You don't want to eat anything?"
After wiping his mouth with his sleeve, Gao Yuan was finally satisfied. He looked at Xiang Jiannan and motioned him to have more.
"No need, I'm not hungry now."
"Well, let's go."
When Gao Yuan and Xiang Jiannan were preparing to return to the temple on foot, a large group of water monsters were gathering together and howling in the depths of the East China Sea thousands of miles away from them.
There were patrolling yakshas holding steel whips, which they would swing at the water monster from time to time.
"Everyone, please make your voices louder. Do you know who is back today? What a bunch of filthy people."
The weak and powerless water monsters, their skin torn and flesh exposed by the steel whips, immediately raised their voices. Their heart-wrenching screams due to the unbearable pain mixed with the waves and merged into the strong wind on the sea. The sound of the wind and the shrill sounds mixed together, disturbing the vast sea area.
"Open the dragon gate quickly!"
As a beam of light shot from the air to the water, the Yakshas who were showing off their might received the signal. The one in the lead was filled with joy, and after giving the order, he immediately set off to swim towards the sea surface.
Under his leadership, countless Yakshas holding steel spears began to gather, creating huge waves, and when they jumped out of the sea, they were as dense as locusts.
"Our East China Sea hasn't been this lively for many years."
Seeing the black shadow in the sky about to hit the water, a Yaksha was moved. He didn't know how to express his emotions. He stuck out his tongue and licked his companion next to him: "Are you happy?"
"Get lost! You are as filthy as those water monsters!"
He felt nauseous when being licked unexpectedly. The Yaksha that was being licked didn't know what the other person had eaten recently. They were all the same kind, so why did some Yakshas have such smelly mouths?
He immediately stuck out his tongue and licked the part being licked again, and then continued to wait with a happy mind and body.
Or your breath is fresh.
“I’m finally back.”
As soon as he touched the water surface, his body suddenly expanded several times in size. The black shadow falling from the sky finally breathed a sigh of relief and turned into the appearance of a pale-faced scholar. He raised his hand to make the turbulent sea water roll, and knocked a large number of Yakshas back into the seabed. His every move revealed that he was the master of this sea.
"Welcome back to the palace, Your Majesty."
A Yaksha came up from the side happily, with a fawning look on his face.
Today is a big day worth celebrating, as they are in the East China Sea and are welcoming their master back again.
"What did you call me?"
A pretty face suddenly fell, and the pale-faced scholar looked at Yaksha with an unfriendly look.
It has only been a short time, and you have already forgotten your previous orders, Great King? That is a name that only wild goblins like to call you.
I disdain to associate with them.
"Overlord."
He bowed his head and quickly admitted his mistake, then the Yaksha, who had not offered his service well, immediately changed his words.
There is only one word difference. I really don't understand what the difference is between the two. As a water creature, you insist on learning the ways of the people on the shore. You are obviously nobler than them, so why lower yourself?

"Five years. Five whole years."
The tone of the voice became more relaxed because of the Yaksha's change of words, and the pale-faced scholar immediately sighed again. Before he could finish expressing his vicissitudes of life, the tactless Yaksha took the initiative to speak again:
"Overlord, it's thirty years."
"oh"
The talkative Yaksha was knocked away calmly. The white-faced scholar then found himself at a loss for words. Under the gaze of countless Yakshas, he could no longer maintain a good mood, so he could only announce awkwardly that he was going home first.
Good atmosphere, gone...
Now I just feel a little stuffy in my chest. This feeling is a bit like someone is poking me with an iron rod.
"Master, how far is it?"
The East China Sea was bustling with activity, but Xiang Jiannan was extremely tired. If he had known that he would have to walk back to Ping'an Temple, he would have taken the wine and food with him. After just a short while, he was already tired and thirsty.
"Can't you cast a spell and send us back directly?"
"No, this place is at most a hundred miles away from Ping'an Temple," Gao Yuan, who was walking anxiously in front with a shovel on his shoulder, said proudly without even turning his head:
"My master's magic can travel a thousand miles in the blink of an eye. By then, we will have to travel even further."
Can you even come up with such a reason?
Thinking that this old Taoist was really talking nonsense, Xiang Jiannan rolled his eyes at his words.
Even if you have the ability to send me thousands of miles away so that I can go out and see the scenery, and even bring the shovel back to the master of the temple, I, Xiang Jiannan, will not believe you.
Why don’t we go back to the pavilion and pack some things to take with us? After all, it’s not too far away now.
"Master?"
Just when Xiang Jiannan was about to persuade his master to turn back, several figures suddenly appeared under the shade of the trees ahead. Hidden in the darkness, no fire was visible, and the voices sounded like Mr. Li.
"Why are you here?"
Holding the torch and looking closer, Xiang Jiannan saw that Li Yuanwai and his group seemed very embarrassed. There was no sign of the carriage. They just rubbed their hands dryly and said, "It's windy. Let's hide here."
"May I ask about my family's ancestral graves..."
"It's done. I still have some face left."
Raising his hand and holding the shovel in front of his chest, Gao Yuan replied in a stern voice, "Just say that Mr. Li is a good man." Sure enough, he didn't run too far.
(I will update early today. I have to go back to the company tomorrow. I will probably be lectured by my elders tonight. I hope I can handle it. Single young people have no human rights.)
