The virtual space of the spiritual battlefield still had a blue background that shimmered like a galaxy. 496's figure stood in the center of the light platform, like an eternal and motionless mountain.
Xiang Fan had just completed his last task, and the words "Mission Completed" on the screen made him breathe a sigh of relief, but then he felt an indescribable sense of emptiness, as if he had reached the last stop, only to find that there was no way forward.
"Zero." 496's voice was low and steady, carrying the same intimidating force as always, but this time with a touch of gentleness. "You've completed all the basic courses. This is pretty much the end of what I can teach you."
Xiang Fan was stunned, his fingers trembling on the interface. "Senior, are you saying... I can only rely on myself for the rest of the process?"
"Psychic invasion and defense is an emerging field," 496 nodded slightly, his virtual figure flickering in the light. "Our generation is only at the starting point. Your progress has surprised even me. Now, you have the ability to move forward."
Xiang Fan lowered his head and looked at the final data displayed on the light table. He could still hear the buzzing sound of those crazy calculation formulas in his ears.
He gritted his teeth, his tone carrying a hint of stubbornness: "Senior, you are my mentor. Without your guidance, I would not be able to achieve what I have today."
496 chuckled softly, his voice carrying a certain undeniable strength. "Don't be so modest. I'm not praising you, but telling you that you're ready to join us in exploring deeper realms."
Xiang Fan was stunned, with some complicated emotions surging in his chest.
Looking back on this period of time, he has indeed come a long way from being a rookie who couldn't even understand the "psychic circuit" to being able to skillfully manipulate the psychic wave interference algorithm.
"Senior, do you really think... I can do it?" He was a little uneasy, but more eager.
“Whether you can do it or not doesn’t depend on how I see you, but on how you see yourself.”
496's voice was calm yet resolute. "Psychic invasion isn't about destruction, it's about the art of control. You're more suited to this path than you think."
Xiang Fan's thoughts involuntarily went back to a few weeks ago, when he first tried to use the psychic wave interference algorithm to invade the simulated mecha. He frantically adjusted the psychic frequency and experimented countless times before he finally bypassed the defense and successfully seized control of the opponent's mecha.
He was so excited that he almost jumped up, but he also felt for the first time the subtle pleasure of controlling the flow of psychic energy.
"Psychic invasion is not a simple attack, but the key to controlling the flow of psychic energy." Xiang Fan murmured softly, with a hint of confidence in his eyes.
“So, this is your talent.”
496's voice was like a low humming sound in the starry sky. "Psychic invasion requires extraordinary perception and logic, and you possess both. This is the last lesson I will teach you. From now on, you will have to walk the path on your own."
Xiang Fan was about to speak when 496 continued, "However, as a final gift, I've compiled a few notebooks. They aren't answers, but rather directions. If you can find inspiration in them, perhaps they'll be helpful to you."
In the virtual space, several virtual books with a faint blue glow slowly emerged, and the titles flashed before Xiang Fan's eyes: "Dynamic Optimization of the Psionic Matrix", "High-Frequency Psionic Waves and Phase Transformation", and "Psionic Invasion Strategy".
Xiang Fan reached out his hand, trembling as he touched the books, his heart filled with excitement and trepidation. His voice was filled with unconcealed joy: "Senior, are these... all your research?"
496 smiled slightly, as if laughing at the naivety of his questions. "These are just the beginning. If you're smart enough, you should know where the real problem lies. Next time we meet, I hope you can tell me the answer through your actions."
"Senior..." Xiang Fan hesitated, holding the newly received books in his hands, his eyes revealing a hint of reluctance, "Will I be able to see you again in the future?"
496 smiled faintly, his voice adding a hint of teasing. "I'm always here, right? As long as you can make further progress in the Spirit Realm battlefield, we'll meet again. Don't let me down then."
The virtual figure began to fade, and the light on the light platform gradually dimmed. Xiang Fan stood in the empty virtual space, a complex emotion surging in his heart.
He clenched his fists, as if making a promise to the vanishing 496: "Senior, I will make psychic invasion the greatest technology in the world... and then, I will demonstrate it to you!"
The moment he exited the virtual battlefield, Xiang Fan returned to his dilapidated mecha cabin.
The worn-out equipment hummed softly, as if protesting his daily grind. He sat in the driver's seat, flipping through the books 496 had left behind, his expression becoming complicated.
"Theory of Dynamic Decomposition of Psychic Invasion...Secondary Spiritual Wave Optimization Formula..."
As soon as he opened the first page, he shrank his neck in fear at the densely packed formulas and charts.
Rubbing his temples, he muttered, "Is this a book, or a test for those old monsters in the world of immortal cultivation? I'm afraid I'll have to work myself to death before I can understand it."
But even though he complained, his eyes never left the complicated theory.
He spread the book on his knees and muttered, "Forget it, it's a headache, but it's such a powerful book, even if I don't understand it, I still have to memorize something."
He picked up a pen and wrote down a few key words in his notebook. He wrote more and more, and soon the page was full.
When he looked up again, he found that the starlight outside the window filled the entire yard, but he didn't notice the passage of time at all.
