Chapter 104 Opposition

Sunlight streamed through the stained windows of the sect's main hall, and runes constructed from spiritual energy shimmered on the walls. The Dharma Elder stood at the center of the podium. A flash of spiritual light flashed in his hand, and a complex pattern of spiritual energy circuits emerged from the void. He glanced around and spoke earnestly, "The optimization of spiritual energy circuits is one of the core issues in the debate between spiritual practice and technology. The technological faction believes that storing energy through spiritual stones can improve efficiency, but is this truly more sustainable and stable than traditional spiritual practice?"

Shen Tianshu, dressed in a green robe, his eyes sparkling. He stood up, bowed, and spoke with a hint of arrogance in his voice: "The elder is absolutely right. The technology school is just a trick, and it can't shake the foundation of traditional cultivation. Cultivation lies in the heart. Relying on external things is ultimately inferior!"

The tech-savvy disciples were immediately in an uproar upon hearing this. A tall, thin young man stood up and sneered, "Brother Shen, that's too one-sided! Using mechas to assist in cultivation is not only highly efficient, but can also give you a greater advantage in combat. This is the choice of our time."

"Yes, how many years does it take to build a foundation through traditional practice? We, the technological faction, can break through the bottleneck in just one year with the help of spirit stones and mechas. The effect is obvious!" Another technological faction disciple echoed.

Shen Tianshu frowned and raised his hand to stop him: "Your method may seem quick, but in reality, it's superficial. If you make even the slightest mistake during the battle and your mecha malfunctions, how much strength will you have left?"

The two sides exchanged a few words, and the voices grew louder and louder. The Dharma Master frowned and knocked on the table: "Quiet!"

In the corner, Xiang Fan stole a glance at the quarreling parties, then looked down at his hastily scribbled psychic notes. After a moment's hesitation, he raised his hand: "Perhaps, psychic circuits can be combined with spirit stone energy storage to find a compromise, combining the advantages of both..."

Before he finished speaking, a disciple from the Tech School snorted coldly, his eyes filled with contempt: "A little unknown person in the Qi Training Stage, what do you know? Don't get involved in this kind of discussion, or you'll make a fool of yourself."

Xiang Fan's hand was still suspended in mid-air, his face burning, but he quickly lowered his head and silently withdrew his hand. The corners of his mouth twitched, as if he wanted to say something, but in the end, no sound came out.

After class, when Shen Tianshu passed by, he glanced at Xiang Fan coldly with a sneer on his face: "You want to change the world by talking about it on paper? Practice your spiritual energy first." After that, he flicked his sleeves and left.

Xiang Fan huddled in a corner, silently packing up his books, his movements a little slow.

At this moment, a gentle voice came from behind: "Don't worry about what they think." Lu Qingli walked over, smiled and patted Xiang Fan on the shoulder, "Your insights are actually very valuable."

Xiang Fan raised his head and scratched it awkwardly: "I was just talking casually. They are right. I am still in the Qi training stage, so I may not be practical enough."

Lu Qingli shook her head and looked at him seriously: "Theory and practice complement each other. Without theory, practice is like a bull without direction; without practice, theory becomes a castle in the air. And you have gone further than most of them. You just need to have more confidence in yourself."

Xiang Fan listened, pursed his lips, and looked down at his notes. After a moment of silence, he suddenly smiled: "Senior Sister is right. If I try harder, maybe I can make them shut up."

Seeing this, Lu Qingli also smiled and turned to leave. Xiang Fan watched her back, clenched the notebook in his hand, and his eyes fell back on the pages filled with formulas and annotations. A hint of determination appeared in his eyes: "The theory is correct, the only thing wrong is that I'm not strong enough."

A few days later, the Dharma Teaching Classroom was bustling with activity once again. The Dharma Teaching Elder stood at the podium with a serious expression, pointing to the psychic energy diagram floating in the air and asking, "If we want to perfectly combine the energy storage properties of the spirit stone with the stability of the psychic energy circuit, does anyone have an effective solution?"

There was a moment of silence, and the entire classroom was so quiet that even the fluctuations of spiritual energy could be heard.

"Really no one?" The elder's eyes swept over everyone. Shen Tianshu showed his usual sneer and slowly said: "Elder, for theoretical questions like this, people without sufficient practical experience can only draw some fancy words."

Many disciples smiled knowingly upon hearing this. Xiang Fan sat in a corner, his fingers unconsciously twirling a pen as he stared at the psychic diagram in thought for a long time. He gritted his teeth, mustered up the courage, stood up, and raised his hand, saying, "Elder, I have an idea. Perhaps we can give it a try."

Everyone's eyes turned to him, with a mixture of surprise and amusement.

Xiang Fan stepped onto the podium and, with a flick of his finger, his psychic brush sketched a theoretical framework for integrating spirit stones with psychic circuits. He explained as he drew, "The advantage of spirit stone energy storage is its high concentration, but its fluctuations are erratic. If we add a psychic energy diversion array and adjust the circuit frequency to sync with the spirit stone's pulsed vibrations, we should be able to achieve both stability and efficiency..."

His voice was quiet, but his tone was confident, and his ideas were clear and fluent. After reading it, the elder pondered for a moment, then nodded in approval. "Not bad! While this plan is simple, the idea is clear, and it opens up a new direction for the research of psychic energy storage."

These words made Shen Tianshu's expression freeze for a moment, while the disciples around him exploded.

"Wow, he actually dared to say that!" someone whispered.

"This framework looks impressive, but what does he know? He probably just scribbled it."

"Yeah, he probably hasn't even touched a real spirit stone, yet he dares to teach us how to use the psionic circuit?"

Low chuckles echoed, tinged with malice. Xiang Fan heard all of this clearly, but simply pursed his lips, offering no explanation or defense. He returned to his seat calmly, lowering his head and flipping open his book, as if the previous sneering remarks had nothing to do with him.

Shen Tianshu couldn't help but sneer and sarcastically said, "No matter how beautiful the theoretical drawings are, they are just empty talk. If you can really put them into practice, why are you still stuck in the Qi training stage?"

There was another round of laughter around.

Xiang Fan clenched his pen, veins bulging faintly on the back of his hand. But he quickly took a deep breath, put his notes away, looked up at the sky outside the window, and thought silently, "Perhaps they will never understand that the things in the book are really more useful than they imagine."

In the distance, Lu Qingli stood at the corner of the corridor, watching Xiang Fan return to his seat alone. She shook her head and sighed, "These guys are tougher than spirit stones. I don't know where this little junior brother Xiang Fan gets his patience from; he's not even angry at all."
