The poison's spread was beyond Zero's expectations. The rune chains on the screen, like a swarm of pervasive insects, frantically crawled across every corner of the psychic network. Every node became their prey, scrambling the flow of psychic energy into chaos. The data streams were even shattered into countless fragments by the intrusion of these runes.
"Oh no, they are spreading too fast!" Zero frowned tightly, red alerts kept popping up on the screen, and his fingers jumped rapidly on the virtual keyboard, trying to use new defensive measures to slow the spread of the Gu.
"Alert! The network defense layer has been breached! The psychic core is being disturbed!" A sharp alarm suddenly rang out from Ling Ruoxi's Sky Sword Armor, and the runes on the screen became chaotic. Her psychic shield had been gnawed through and was on the verge of complete failure.
Ling Ruoxi was so angry that she slammed the console: "Zero! Hurry up! My shield is going to fail! These damn runes are like hungry ghosts who can't get enough food!"
The Xuanwu guard's mecha also emitted a slight vibration, its heavy psychic shield struggling to resist the invasion of the poisonous insects. Luo Tiangang's voice was as calm as ever: "I can still hold on, but these things are more difficult than I thought. Zero, are you confident?"
"Don't worry, I have a plan." Zero's tone remained calm, but his movements were dazzlingly fast. He quickly constructed a rune array on the screen, and streams of psychic energy flickered in the virtual space, gradually unfolding layer upon layer of complex defensive barriers.
Shadow Killer, however, wasn't nervous at all. He drove his mech around the field, tauntingly saying, "Tsk tsk, Zero, your rune skills look impressive, but can't you make your defense faster? We're almost wiped out!"
Zero replied without even looking up, "If you could just shut up for two minutes, I'd be even faster."
The psychic rune chains of the poison program leaped between the defense layers, like a group of cunning snakes, quickly searching for every loophole in the Zero Defense. They seemed to have some kind of intelligence. After a failed attempt, they immediately changed the invasion path and continued to attack the defense core.
Zero stared at the screen intently, gritted his teeth and whispered, "These things are not only smart, they can even learn. I must find their true weakness."
A flash of inspiration struck him, and he suddenly activated a previously undisclosed defense module—Psychic Loop Lock. A complex array of runes suddenly appeared on the screen, and the poisonous insects were guided into a closed virtual space. Like caged beasts, they frantically rammed against the barrier.
"It's in the cage." Zero's voice was low, but a hint of pride flashed in his eyes. "Let's see how you can jump around."
As the poison was gradually trapped, Ling Ruoxi's mech finally stopped sounding its alarm, and its psychic shield began to slowly repair itself. She breathed a sigh of relief, her tone filled with the relief of having survived a catastrophe: "Zero, you truly saved my life! If it weren't for you, my mech would have been completely wrecked."
"Don't be too happy too soon." Zero said coldly, his fingers still tapping. "These things are only temporarily suppressed, not completely eliminated."
Shadow Killer, grinning from ear to ear, interrupted, "Zero, stop being so in suspenseful. You just want to show off your amazing rune skills, don't you? Okay, okay, we admit you're amazing, isn't that enough?"
Zero glanced at him and replied calmly, "If you stop talking nonsense, your combat efficiency will be greatly improved."
The Shadow Killer choked, then reacted immediately, "Boss, you're too heartless! I'm just trying to improve the team atmosphere, and you think I'm nosy?"
Ling Ruoxi couldn't help laughing: "Shadow Killer, I think you are causing trouble, not color."
Meanwhile, the Xuanwu guard was still concentrating on observing the movements of the poisonous insects. He whispered to Zero, "These insects have strange properties, almost like they have life. Can you truly control them completely?"
Zero calmly replied while adjusting the rune array, "Control? No, what I need to do is thoroughly understand their structure and weaknesses. Only with a thorough understanding can we talk about control."
The battle between Shadow Killer and Wandering Feather Sword Armor reached a fever pitch, both sides locked in a fierce struggle within the ruins of the Chaos Realm. Shadow Killer charged frantically in his mech, firing psychic missiles like crazy, blasting countless flames along the way. He laughed heartily and exclaimed, "These things are too fragile! Like paper, they fall apart at the slightest touch!"
Yu Yu Jian Jia wasn't as optimistic as Shadow Killer. He dodged the AI mecha's close-range attack with a psychic dodge and slashed through its shield with a counterattack. He said coldly, "Don't be too complacent. These AI mechas aren't designed to kill. Their true weapon is poison!"
The Shadow Killer's mouth twitched upon hearing this, and then he burst into laughter: "So what if there's a poisonous insect? Doesn't our boss specialize in dealing with these evil things?"
At that moment, a Shadow Killer missile accurately struck the psychic core of one of the AI mechs. With a loud explosion, sparks flew from the core. However, the explosion did not end. Instead, countless rune chains erupted from the shattered core, slithering towards Youyu Sword Armor's mech like venomous snakes.
"Fuck! They're coming again!" Youyu Jianjia suddenly raised his psychic shield, trying to block the invasion of the poisonous runes. But these runes seemed to have brains, bypassing the edge of the shield and infiltrating his network interface.
Shadow Killer laughed and shouted, "Brother, hold on! We have Zero, he can easily handle this little problem!" As he spoke, his mecha smashed another AI mecha with one punch, sending fragments flying everywhere. It was obvious that he had regarded the battle as a pleasure.
