Chapter 143 The Gu Master's Crisis

The sky above the Chaos Realm remained a deathly gray, the shattered remains of the virtual battlefield drifting in mid-air, like ghosts. As Bai Zang logged into the Spirit Realm battlefield, a mechanical notification chime echoed in his ears, followed by a series of pop-up notifications that exploded like firecrackers.

"Gu Master, you bastard! Do you dare to come out and challenge me in a one-on-one fight?"

"Gu Master! Were you responsible for the poisonous Gu incident? Come out and give an explanation!"

"Everyone, pay attention! The Gu Master has appeared, and the bounty has been doubled! Anyone seen will be killed!"

Bai Zang raised an eyebrow, a sneer curling up at the corner of his lips. He didn't bother to pay attention to the roars and accusations coming at him. His fingers casually slid across the control panel, easily closing all the pop-up messages.

"Oh, the bounty is doubled? Do you really think I'm a philanthropist and come out to give you my head?" He muttered to himself as he controlled his mecha, which was so worn out that it looked like it was about to be scrapped, to enter the chaotic area.

The psychic energy ripples on the mecha's surface like a thin layer of smoke, sometimes flickering, sometimes dimming, and it looked like it might collapse at any moment. However, Bai Zang was not at all concerned about this. Instead, he leaned back in his seat leisurely, as if he was on vacation.

"These boring guys have nothing to do but go find the real culprit." He muttered as he activated the psychic radar, scanning the screen for a suitable hiding place.

The psychic fluctuations prompted him to discover the remains of an abandoned building. He skillfully steered his mech into it, and the insect poison program quickly activated, scanning the surrounding psychic fluctuations.

At that moment, a piercing alarm suddenly rang out, and red dots dotted the screen. Bai Zang looked up and saw five player mechs rapidly approaching him. The leading mech's psychic shield shone brightly, and the radiance on its surface was a sign of top-tier equipment.

"Target confirmed, hunt down the Gu Master!" the other party's mechanical voice announced coldly.

"Hunting me?" Bai Zang sneered and flexed his fingers. "How interesting! You're in such a hurry to send the parts over. I won't be polite."

The enemy's five mechas quickly encircled them, and lock-on notifications for beam weapons and psychic missiles kept popping up on the screen. Bai Zang, however, remained calm and composed, a faint smile playing on his lips. His fingers rapidly tapped the control panel, silently activating the poison program.

The rune chains on the screen gushed out of Bai Zang's mech like a surging black stream, rapidly invading the core modules of the two leading player mechs along with the psychic energy fluctuations. Seconds later, the psychic systems of the two mechs suddenly lost control, their shields suddenly dimmed, and their movements became extremely strange.

"What's going on?! My mech seems to be stuck!"

"Same here... Damn it, it's attacking itself!"

Accompanied by cries of terror, the two mechs, like madmen, began to attack each other frantically. Missiles and beams flew everywhere, and the bombardment made the entire ruins buzz. The remaining three player mechs were immediately thrown into disarray, and the once tight encirclement was completely disrupted.

"Thank you for your cooperation." Bai Zang chuckled, and his psychic thrusters suddenly burst out. His mecha rushed out of the ruins like an arrow, instantly shaking off the pursuers.

"Chase! Don't let him run away!" A player roared and controlled the mecha to follow closely, but Bai Zang had already increased the speed of the mecha to the limit, and disappeared into the depths of the ruins in a few psychic jumps.

The alarm in his ears gradually subsided. Bai Zang controlled the mecha to slide into a shadow. After confirming that the radar did not show any tracking signal, he slowly exhaled.

"Tsk tsk, can't these people just be quiet for a while?" Bai Zang leaned back in his chair and said disdainfully, "A bunch of hot-headed idiots, do you really think you can collect the bounty by chasing me?"

The light in the Chaos Realm remained dim. Bai Zang's mecha glided rapidly under the cover of psychic fluctuations, like a ghost moving through the gray fog. The pursuers' beam cannons and psychic bombs exploded continuously behind him, causing the entire screen to tremble violently.

"These guys really don't intend to let me leave alive..." Bai Zang cursed, gnashing his teeth as he maneuvered his mech to narrowly avoid a passing psychic beam. A quick glance at the mech's status bar revealed that its psychic shield had dropped to less than 10%. If this continued, collapse was only a matter of time.

While fleeing, he couldn't help but think of the "infuriating" transaction a few days ago.

That day, he dragged his painstakingly collected virtual parts to a hidden trading point. The middleman was already waiting there, dressed in a wrinkled robe, his portly body crammed into a chair, lazily flipping through a psychic chip in his hand. Upon seeing Bai Zang, his eyes instantly grew shrewd.

"Hey, the Gu Master is here." The middleman looked up with a forced smile and surveyed the box Bai Zang brought with him. He then curled his lips in disdain, "Is this the stuff you brought?"

With a snort of displeasure, Bai Zang tossed the box onto the table and opened the lid, revealing a plethora of high-level psychic components. Each one glowed with a faint psychic glow, clearly the finest pieces he had risked his life to collect from the Chaos Realm.

"These parts are worth at least 200 virtual spirit stones." Bai Zang made a direct offer.

However, the middleman scoffed rudely, as if he were listening to a huge joke. He stretched out his fat fingers and casually flipped through the parts in the box. His actions were so perfunctory that Bai Zang was furious.

"50 virtual spirit stones." The middleman spoke lazily, with an undisguised hint of blackmail in his voice.

Bai Zang was immediately furious: "50? Are you trying to get rid of a beggar?!"
