Chapter 149 Misunderstanding

Li Xiao was so dizzy from the fall that he got up from the ground with a painful look on his face. He rubbed his waist and muttered, "This game is really cruel. A single fall can shatter my internal organs... If I really want to sue the developer, I will definitely win the lawsuit." Before he finished speaking, he suddenly felt a chill.

"Who are you, the monster? How dare you trespass into the Qingyun Sect!" A cold voice suddenly exploded above his head.

Li Xiao instinctively looked up and saw a white light descend from the sky. Immediately afterwards, a cold and elegant woman in white floated in the air on a sword, her sleeves fluttering, like an immortal descending to earth. A chilling coldness lingered between her brows, and her face was so beautiful it seemed as if it could freeze time.

"Oh my god..." Li Xiao's mouth was so full that an egg could almost fit in it. A word popped into his mind: "The female protagonist of the game? Did the modeler put too much effort into it?"

However, the woman's cold gaze fell on him like a knife, the spiritual sword in her hand trembled slightly, and her tone was full of murderous intent: "Monster, tell me your name!"

"Monster?" Li Xiao was stunned for a moment, then jumped up as if his tail had been stepped on, waving his hands repeatedly, "No, no, no, I'm not a monster, I'm a human! A real human, the real deal!"

"Human?" The woman's eyes narrowed slightly, questioning with disbelief. "Then where did you come from? Why did you fall from the sky?"

"Well..." Li Xiao was momentarily speechless. He scratched his head and said guiltily, "Uh... I'm from Earth. You know Earth, right? It's the blue planet, the third in the Milky Way, the birthplace of human civilization. It's technologically advanced, with everything from Wi-Fi to food delivery!"

"Earth?" The woman frowned and sneered, "Nonsense! Where in the world is Earth? It's clearly a monster disguised as a human, trying to deceive me!"

"No, no, no!" Li Xiao immediately waved his hands. "Listen to my explanation! The Earth really exists. Although you may not have heard of it, I'm really not a monster. At most, I'm just an ordinary human player."

"Player?" The woman raised her brows even higher, and swung her sword. A cold light flashed, and spiritual energy gathered on the blade. The air around them became a little tense. "You are talking nonsense! If that's the case, don't blame me for clearing out the mess!"

"Wait, wait!" Li Xiao panicked and quickly backed away, waving his hands like windmills, trying to show that he was harmless. He said cautiously, "Calm down, fairy, don't use your ultimate skills so easily. I'm afraid of getting hurt!"

The woman's gaze remained icy cold, clearly unmoved by Li Xiao's pitiful plea for mercy. She raised her sword slightly, the tip of the sword pointed directly at Li Xiao: "Do you have any last words?"

"What the hell are these last words!" Li Xiao almost jumped up. "I didn't do anything bad, I just fell! And I'm going to be kicked out for falling. I'm going to file a complaint and contact customer service!"

"Appeal?" The woman sneered. "Monsters are indeed good at making up bizarre theories. How dare you insult Qingyun Sect for being ignorant?"

Li Xiao completely collapsed, wanting to kneel down and cry, "No, I'm really innocent! Fairy, please be kind and let me live! Are all the NPCs in this game so difficult to please?"

Just as the sword was about to fall, Li Xiao suddenly had an idea. He quickly pointed at the spiritual jade at his waist and shouted, "Look! This is spiritual jade! Authentic spiritual jade inherited from the immortal sect! Have you ever seen a monster carrying something like this?"

The woman was slightly startled, her gaze fixed on the spiritual jade, and her sword's momentum slowed slightly. She examined it carefully for a moment, a flicker of suspicion in her eyes. "It's certainly somewhat unusual, but that doesn't prove you're not a demon."

Li Xiao pulled the gaming device from his arms with trembling hands, clutching it like a lifeline. He held it in front of the woman and exclaimed rapidly, "Look at this! This is my device! It's definitely not a demonic artifact! We on Earth all use this thing!"

The woman's eyes were slightly cold, and she raised her sword slightly, as if she would stab it down at any moment. "This thing can actually emit spiritual energy. Do you dare to say it's not a demonic weapon?"

"No!" Li Xiao shook his head like a rattle, almost kneeling down and kowtowed anxiously. "This is technology! Do you understand technology? It's like... like a very advanced tool, but without spiritual energy!"

The woman frowned even more, staring at the faint flickering light on the device. She said in a cold voice, "This thing is strange. If you don't explain its origins, you can't fool me."

Li Xiao cursed the game designer in his heart for the last eight hundred times, then explained with a dry laugh, "This... This is something I brought in while playing games! We don't have spiritual energy on Earth. This thing is powered by electricity, so it's not a spiritual weapon, let alone a demonic weapon! I fell into this game called Spirit Realm Battlefield. It's probably a bug!"

"Spirit Realm Battlefield?" The woman's eyes flashed, and a hint of complexity appeared in her voice. "I've heard of this name before."

"Right, right, right!" Li Xiao nodded repeatedly, as if he saw a glimmer of hope. "This proves I'm not making this up, right? Earth really doesn't have any spiritual energy! We don't even have flying swords, and we rely on four-wheeled vehicles to get around!"

The woman was silent for a moment, as if considering his words, then nodded slightly. "If what you say is true, it does not have anything to do with your suspicion of being a monster. However, your origins are bizarre, and rashly revealing them will only bring unnecessary trouble."

Her sharp eyes swept over Li Xiao, and her voice turned cold: "From now on, you will follow me back to Qingyun Sect and temporarily become a nominal disciple. You will hide your real name and change it to Xiaoran to avoid arousing suspicion."

"Nominal disciple?" Li Xiao was stunned, his mind still fuzzy. "What the hell is that? The kind where you just have a name but don't have to work?"

The woman glanced at him coldly and said indifferently, "A nominal disciple is a status lower than a formal disciple. You don't need to know too much, just follow orders."
