Chapter 15 Taboos of the Sutra Library

In the Lingxiao Sect's Sutra Library, the quiet atmosphere was tinged with mystery. Xiang Fan stood before a bookshelf, his gaze blazing with golden light as if it held the ultimate answer to cultivation. The words "Lingxiao Thirty-Six Sword Styles" were inscribed in large letters on the cover, each stroke imbued with a sharp sword intent. He slowly extended his hand, his fingertips almost touching the book when a sudden, spiritual light burst forth from the tome, violently deflecting his hand.

He felt a tingling pain in his fingers, and he rubbed them hastily, staring blankly at the sword manual. The cover of the book shone with a golden glow, and a layer of flowing array patterns covered the surface, as if coldly warning him: "Not qualified, don't touch it."

"There really is a formation." Xiang Fan muttered to himself, with resentment in his voice.

"Hahaha, isn't that Xiang Fan?" Laughter echoed from a distance. Several disciples dressed in Lingxiao Sect attire approached, the leader's tone thick with sarcasm. "You haven't even reached the fifth level of Qi training, have you? And you're still thinking about trying the 'Thirty-Six Styles of Lingxiao'? Are you crazy?"

"That's a sword manual only available to those at the peak of Qi training. People like you should forget about it." Another disciple crossed his arms and spoke in an even more caustic tone, "Why don't you go back and practice your basic swordsmanship again, or you won't even be able to hold a sword steadily."

They exchanged a few smiles, continued teasing Xiang Fan, and then turned and left, leaving him standing alone in front of the bookshelf, his face filled with embarrassment. He looked down at his hands, his fingertips still aching, and the laughter of those people echoed in his ears.

Xiang Fan pursed his lips, his eyes complicated. He knew what they said was true. He hadn't even reached the fifth level of Qi training, so he wasn't qualified to borrow this sword manual. But in his heart, he couldn't swallow this anger.

He sighed, walked to the other bookshelf, and casually pulled out a copy of "Basic Swordsmanship Analysis." He had already memorized the book so thoroughly that he could even draw the illustrations with his eyes closed. But he still managed to flip through two pages, trying to calm himself.

The words on the page were as dense as ants, but Xiang Fan's mind was completely unable to focus. His eyes kept glancing in the direction he had just been. The golden sword manual was beckoning him like a demon.

He bit his lip lightly, the resentment in his heart gradually turning into an obsession. Others could laugh at his low cultivation level, mock his slow learning, but he wouldn't allow himself to even glance at her. This distance and barrier made him feel as uncomfortable as being scratched by a cat.

"These guys think I'm no good, but I refuse to believe in fate!" Xiang Fan muttered, clenching his fists. He casually tossed the book "Basic Swordsmanship Analysis" in his hand and walked quickly to another row of bookshelves, his eyes filled with a hint of determination and madness.

As he walked, Xiang Fan's attention was attracted by a thick book.

"Psionic Network Construction".

The book's cover was old and covered in a thick layer of dust, clearly untouched in a long time. Xiang Fan casually reached out and pulled the book out, the heavy pages rustling softly as he did so. He flipped to the first page and caught a glimpse of the first few lines: "The Psychic Network is a special energy network constructed through the conduction of spiritual energy, enabling the precise transmission and distribution of spiritual energy..."

"It seems quite advanced." He scratched his head and wanted to close the book to find something more practical, but he accidentally glanced at a picture on the page.

It was a diagram of the construction of a psychic network, with complex lines interwoven into a regular circular pattern. The directions of spiritual energy transmission at several key points were also marked on the diagram. Although it looked very profound, it inexplicably felt familiar to him.

He stared at the picture in thought for a moment, then suddenly slapped his forehead - these lines! Why do they look so familiar?

He closed his eyes, and the scene of being deflected by the sword manual just now appeared in his mind. The array pattern on the surface of the "Lingxiao Thirty-Six Sword Styles Manual" was exactly the same as the spiritual energy transmission path described in this picture!

"The psychic network... could it be the foundation of the Sutra Library's protective array?" Xiang Fan's eyes suddenly lit up. He lowered his head and continued flipping through the book. The descriptions of spiritual energy interference between the pages made him increasingly excited.

"The key to interfering with the conduction of spiritual energy lies in building a secondary network that conflicts with the main network and thus weakens the flow of spiritual energy..." As he muttered the theories in the book, he couldn't help but look up at the direction of the bookshelf in the Sutra Library.

The more he read, the more he felt the similarities between the Sutra Repository's protective array and the principles of the psychic network described in the book were significant. If the methods mentioned in the book were truly effective, he might be able to use this knowledge to disrupt the array's spiritual energy transmission and deceive the Sutra Repository's protective system.

His heartbeat quickened, his palms sweated, and various possibilities began to surface in his mind. He clenched the book "Psionic Network Construction" in his hand, his eyes filled with unconcealable excitement.

"If I succeed, I will be able to get my hands on that sword manual!" Xiang Fan muttered softly, suppressing the excitement in his heart. Like a child who secretly hid candy, he carefully held the book in his arms and quickly left the main hall of the Sutra Library.

"Maybe... I can give it a try." He murmured to himself, an unconcealable smile rising at the corner of his mouth.
