Chapter 211 Accidentally Entering a High-Level Meeting

Qixing Company, underground maintenance workshop.

Xiang Fan squatted on the ground, expertly wiping the parts of his newly repaired mecha with a rag. Sweat dripped down his forehead, and he wiped it away, leaving deep marks on his face from the grease on his hands. The workshop was filled with the smell of oil and metal. Sparks flickered occasionally in the distance, and the air was filled with the harsh sound of cutting metal.

Just as he was about to take a breath, a hearty laugh came from behind him.

"Xiang Fan, boy, you are quite nimble."

Engineer Hong patted him on the shoulder, glanced at the stack of blueprints on the workstation, and said casually, "Excuse me, an engineer left a few blueprints behind when he came to repair a part. They probably need them urgently now, so they need to be sent to the fourth floor."

Xiang Fan was slightly startled, then stood up, dusted himself off, and wiped the grease off his face. "Okay, Engineer Hong, I'll go right away."

Engineer Hong casually handed over a handkerchief and grinned, "By the way, I'd like to remind you that these senior engineers have their eyes on the top of their heads. Don't pay attention to their bad tempers. Just send it off and leave."

Xiang Fan took the towel, wiped his face, nodded, picked up the stack of drawings, and walked towards the elevator.

The elevator door opened, and Xiang Fan walked into the corridor on the fourth floor, where he was greeted by a completely different atmosphere.

Compared to the stuffy, noisy, and oil-filled atmosphere of the underground maintenance workshop, the air here is fresh, with a faint scent of disinfectant and air purifier. The floor is as smooth as a mirror, reflecting the faint shadows of people. The surrounding walls are white and neat. Every passing engineer wears a clean, crisp white work suit, holding a light screen terminal in hand, some bowing their heads in thought, while others quietly discuss complex technical issues.

However, this sense of order and neatness formed a sharp contrast with Xiang Fan's existence.

His clothes were still stained with grease from the repair shop, his cuffs were slightly wrinkled, and there were even a few drops of motor oil on his shoes. He had just stepped out of the elevator when he felt the gazes from all directions.

The engineers stopped talking one after another, their eyes showing obvious displeasure and rejection. Some frowned and slightly turned aside, some muttered something under their breath, and some even pinched their noses and walked away.

"Who let this kind of person in?"

"Is he from the maintenance shop? How come a worker on the ground floor just came up here?"

"Tsk, this taste..."

Xiang Fan heard it all, but his expression remained unchanged. He simply lowered his head silently, and without stopping, he walked quickly towards the target office. He had long been accustomed to such looks, and he also understood that in the eyes of these people, he was just an insignificant "low-level repairman."

This was not his first time on the fourth floor, nor was it the first time he had been treated like this.

So, he just wanted to deliver the drawings quickly and leave as soon as possible.

He came to the office door, knocked, and poked his head in. His tone was polite and restrained: "Excuse me, is this the working group responsible for transmission bearing design?"

Inside, an engineer was working at his desk, his eyes fixed on the screen. He didn't even look up when he heard the voice, and said perfunctorily, "Are you here to deliver the blueprints?"

"Well, Hong Gong asked me to—"

"Put it on the table." The other party waved his hand casually, showing no interest in listening to his explanation, his attention always remaining on the complex data and drawings in front of him.

Xiang Fan glanced at the table occupied by various documents, screens and tools, feeling helpless, but still put down the drawings as instructed. When he was about to leave, the engineer suddenly spoke.

"By the way." He finally raised his head, glanced casually at Xiang Fan, then quickly lowered it again, his tone still indifferent, "Take those drawings on the table with you and send them to the conference room on the sixth floor."

"Sixth floor?" Xiang Fan frowned slightly, with a hint of doubt in his tone.

"Yes, just send it over to the conference room." The engineer's voice was filled with obvious impatience. "Okay, okay, go ahead. We're very busy here."

Xiang Fan was silent for a moment, his eyes falling on the several new blueprints on the table. Although delivering the blueprints was his job, his original assignment was only to the fourth floor. Now that there was suddenly a conference room on the sixth floor, he was a little hesitant.

But in the end he didn't say anything, just nodded, reached out to put the drawings away, turned and left.

Compared to the neat and orderly fourth floor, the sixth floor exudes a more upscale and solemn air. This is the company's core R&D area, responsible for research and technical collaboration on major projects. Ordinary employees are not even authorized to enter on weekdays.

Xiang Fan stepped out of the elevator, pausing slightly as his gaze fell on the heavy conference room door at the end of the corridor. The doorplate clearly inscribed: "R&D Department Special Conference Room."

He couldn't help feeling a little uneasy.

This is not the place for him to come.

But... he's just delivering the blueprints, so there shouldn't be any problem, right?

He took a deep breath, knocked on the door, and then pushed it open and walked in.
