Chapter 51: A fierce battle with the Jindan AI mecha

The Jindan mecha let out a deep mechanical hiss. A powerful blow from the Xuanwu Guard's shield sent the Jindan mecha stumbling backward, roaring in anger as if to devour the Xuanwu Guard alive. Steadily controlling the heavy mecha, the Xuanwu Guard held his shield high and sneered, "Come on! With your meager strength, I'll show you the art of taking a beating!"

Zero and Shadow Killer, like two nimble venomous snakes, slithered from either side of the canyon, their long-range talisman cannons and lightsabers striking at the Jindan mecha's psychic barrier, their coordination seamless. Zero fired while calmly directing, "Hold steady! Our advantage is speed. Don't go head-to-head with it." Shadow Killer laughed heartily, "Boss, your words sound even more reassuring than my father's. It's truly reassuring!"

The Jindan mecha seemed to sense the threat and suddenly activated its thrusters to leap upward, attempting to fly out of the canyon and use its aerial advantage to suppress the three. However, after it had only gained a few meters of air, it was met head-on by the Xuanwu guard's large shield. With a muffled thud, the Jindan mecha fell directly to the ground, stirring up a cloud of dust.

The Xuanwu Guard smirked, "What's wrong? This is my Xuanwu Armor's territory, and the sky is mine too. Why are you flying?" The Shadow Killer seized the opportunity to fire a precise talisman bomb, causing the Jindan mecha to stumble. While controlling the long-range artillery fire, he taunted, "Look at it, it's really stupid. It wants to learn to fly like us, isn't it asking for a beating?"

The Jindan mecha flew into a rage, brandishing its heavy sword and unleashing a torrent of attacks on the Black Tortoise Guard. Sparks flew, and the psychic energy surged, shaking the very canyon floor. The Black Tortoise Guard gritted his teeth, holding onto his massive shield, quipping, "This guy is quite formidable, but this shield is made of spirit stone. I'm not afraid of you, am I?"

Zero's eyes were sharp as he observed the changes in the battle situation. He warned in a cold voice: "Xuanwu, pay attention to the rhythm and don't let it down! Shadow Killer, suppress its barrier psychic energy again!" Shadow Killer grinned: "Don't worry, boss, its brain is not as good as ours. I'll fire two more shots and it won't even be able to jump!"

The data on Ling Ruoxi's screen kept refreshing as she watched the battle from a distance. She looked at the analysis report of the Sky Sword Armor and broke out in a cold sweat: "A peak-level Jindan mecha...its spiritual energy output is 30% higher than normal...its overall combat power far exceeds that of ordinary Jindan opponents..." She was shocked as she watched the Jindan mecha being forced to retreat under the siege of three people.

Ling Ruoxi's voice was almost trembling: "Father's mecha performance may not be as good as this guy...but the three of them can actually play it like this?!"

She stared in amazement at Zero's calm and composed command, the Black Tortoise Guard's boastful yet impeccable defense, and the Shadow Killer's dazzling, precise strikes while laughing. Ling Ruoxi took a deep breath, suddenly feeling a little embarrassed. "I actually thought about challenging Zero before... That was courting death." She gritted her teeth and whispered, "No, I need to prepare for another ten or eight years before my next challenge."

The Jindan mecha collapsed to the ground, its psychic barrier crumbling. Its engine core let out a final, mournful roar, its psychic light gradually fading. Silence reigned. Zero, holding his lightsaber, slowly retracted it and calmly commented, "The thicker the barrier, the faster the sword." These six simple words radiated undeniable confidence.

The Shadow Killer leaned against a piece of rubble, panting heavily. "I'm truly impressed! This barrier is ridiculously strong! Boss, if your sword had been a second later, I might have had to blow the Spirit Cannon with my mouth!" The Black Tortoise Guard patted the blackened edge of his shield and sighed with emotion. "Luckily, I, the Black Tortoise, held it up. Otherwise, we'd be relying on Xiaoxi's immature swordsmanship to save our lives."

Ling Ruoxi's face darkened upon hearing this. She gripped the joystick tightly and muttered, "Immature swordsmanship? Say that again and I'll pull out the titanium screws from your mecha!" The Shadow Killer heard this and laughed out loud, "Xiao Xi, if you're not immature, how can you be so skilled? I asked you to be a lookout just now, and you were so cautious, even more so than I was on our first date!"

Zero waved his hand indifferently, not bothering to pay attention to the bickering between the two, and directly ordered: "Don't waste time, dismantle the parts, the target is the core psionic array and the thrusters, move quickly, we must leave no trace."

The Xuanwu guard immediately rolled towards the Jindan mecha, shouting excitedly: "I'll dismantle it first this time, and the repair cost of my shield must be reimbursed first!" The Shadow Killer was not to be outdone, and followed closely behind: "Boss, I was still short of materials for the last light cannon, so I'll reserve this thruster first!" The two of them competed with each other, as if "not for a living, but for the purpose of dismantling dreams."

Ling Ruoxi stood aside, watching the chaotic scene with mixed feelings, and couldn't help but sigh. Replaying Zero's precise strike and the tacit coordination between the Shadow Killer and the Black Tortoise Guard in her mind, she muttered helplessly, "Who the hell was I challenging earlier? These people were clearly monsters."

Just as she was feeling sorry for herself, Zero suddenly turned and shouted, "What are you daydreaming about? Come over and help me take the parts apart!" Ling Ruoxi was startled and quickly controlled the Sky Sword Armor to move over and frantically began to dismantle the outer shell of the Jindan mecha. Shadow Killer glanced at her and smiled even more broadly, "Xiaoxi, be quick, or the boss might only remember you for taking screws apart with your bare hands."

Ling Ruoxi gritted her teeth, furious: "I'm dismantling my own things, it's none of your business to laugh at me!" The Xuanwu guards also came over to add fuel to the fire: "Xiaoxi, when you work with us, there's no such thing as slow hands getting lost. If you don't hurry, you won't even get a single bolt!"

While dismantling the mecha, Ling Ruoxi cursed in a low voice on the communication channel: "These bastards, each one deserves a beating more than the other!" But watching the three of them bickering while clearly dividing the work to dismantle the mecha parts, she also felt a strange sense of envy and integration in her heart.

After all the valuable parts were disassembled, Zero counted the spoils with satisfaction: "The thrusters, core psionic array, and extra materials are all here. This trip was worth it. We can go back and research it. The performance of our mecha can be improved even more." Shadow Killer wiped the dusty shell of the mecha and said with a smile: "There is always a risk to gain. It feels great to defeat Jindan!"

Ling Ruoxi stood aside, controlling the Sky Sword Armor. She watched as these men manipulated the Golden Core mecha with such gusto that she felt a complex mix of emotions. She took a deep breath and silently resolved, "These monsters... no, these teammates, I must blend in with them. Fighting shoulder to shoulder with them is the best path forward. Holding on to their strength might be the best option for me."
