Xiang Fan sat in the mecha cabin, took a deep breath, and connected to the virtual spiritual network. After he entered a complex string of code, a dark virtual market popped up on the screen. Immediately, a low background sound rang in his ears, as if reminding him: outsiders are not welcome here.
Xiang Fan glanced at the floating virtual stalls, and all kinds of strange and bizarre product introductions came into view: from the so-called "Secrets of Ancient Psychic Weapons" to "Records of Forbidden Cultivation", and even titles that sounded outrageous like "Diary of the Holy Land Elder".
"This place... is really weird." Xiang Fan swallowed his saliva, feeling uneasy in his heart.
Just as he was hesitating, Shadow Killer's voice came over the communication channel: "Boss, don't hesitate! You have to be decisive in black market transactions. If you hesitate for a second, the treasure will be snatched away."
"So exaggerated?" Xiang Fan glanced around suspiciously, his eyes landing on an unassuming stall. The title caught his eye: "The Lost Core Energy Theory." It was exactly what he had found on the virtual network.
"This is too expensive..." Xiang Fan couldn't help but mutter, "Is it a scam?"
The Shadow Killer laughed loudly: "Boss, let's grab it first and see if it's a scam or not! How many more spirit stones can we afford to lose?"
Xiang Fan hesitated for a second, then finally gritted his teeth and clicked to confirm the transaction. The file was instantly transferred to his database, and the system prompted "Transaction Completed." But when he opened the folder, his face fell—it was empty, with only a link.
"What the hell?" Xiang Fan was so upset that he couldn't help complaining, "It's actually a link. Isn't that too random?"
Upon hearing this, Shadow Killer's interest piqued. "Let me see! I love these kinds of mysterious things!" He quickly controlled the virtual terminal and connected to the link. A few seconds later, a hint of surprise appeared in his tone. "Boss, this thing is not simple. It's covered in a layer of defense mechanism. Even my simulator is about to burn out."
"So exaggerated?" Xiang Fan was a little panicked, "Could it be fake?"
"Can a fake one even have this ability?" Shadow Killer switched between several windows, still blocked by the link. "This level of encryption isn't something an ordinary person can do. There's definitely something wrong. Wait a minute, I'll try again—oh my, there's actually a virtual mecha guard?! This guy's backing is comparable to a medium-sized military organization!"
The Xuanwu guard interrupted: "Can we break in?"
Shadow Killer sighed. "Don't underestimate me because I'm a stealth expert. It's going to take a while to crack this thing. Boss, are you sure you want to do this? If we really try, we might have to use our resources... and our courage."
Xiang Fan frowned and pondered for a moment: "So... this link might be related to the blueprint?"
The Shadow Killer stopped and his voice turned serious. "Boss, it's very possible! But I must warn you, the mechanism and guard system behind this connection are most likely extreme technological. These guys are unreasonable, so we have to be careful when we encounter them."
"Extreme technology faction..." Xiang Fan repeated in a low voice, feeling uneasy.
Shadow Killer's tone changed, and he returned to teasing: "But Boss, if you can get this thing, maybe you can unlock the secret of the blueprint. Then we can really make a fortune!"
Xiang Fan sighed, looking at the link on the screen, feeling conflicted. He stared at the address, his mind racing with ideas on how to approach this potential secret. Meanwhile, Shadow Killer's teasing echoed in his ears: "Boss, don't be afraid! The real danger isn't you, it's our mech!"
Xiang Fan sat in the cockpit of the virtual mecha, his face solemn. His fingers pounded across the keyboard, and complex codes and data unlocking progress bars danced on the screen. Every character seemed to carry a sense of immense pressure.
"Boss, this progress bar is too slow! Are you using the old version of the decoding tool?" The Shadow Killer's voice came from the communication channel with a strong sense of ridicule.
"Shut up! How about you do it?" Xiang Fan didn't even raise his head, but his hand speed became a little faster.
Ling Ruoxi couldn't help but complain in the channel: "Shadow Killer, don't disturb the boss. If you make a noise next to him, the mecha might explode."
Shadow Killer sighed in mock grievance, "Oh, really, even the boss is protected by you. I'm worried sick about everyone's safety!"
Xiang Fan gritted his teeth and tapped the last key hard. A green message popped up on the screen: "Link permissions unlocked successfully." He breathed a sigh of relief and wiped the sweat from his forehead. "Alright, the entrance is open. Cheer up, don't let me regret it."
After the virtual channel was opened, the team's mechas were instantly transported to a vast, technologically advanced space. A towering, tower-shaped data storage device glowed with a cold light, surrounded by countless energy screens, each operating in real time, as if recording the secrets of the entire spiritual battlefield.
Shadow Killer drove the mech around and exclaimed exaggeratedly, "Oh my god, this place is so luxurious! Just the design, let alone the stats, the tickets alone will sell for a fortune!"
"Don't talk nonsense." The Xuanwu guard adjusted the position of his shield while looking around vigilantly. "This place looks beautiful, but the guard mechas here are more troublesome than the other. If you make too much noise, the whole army will be wiped out."
"Alright, alright." Shadow Killer curled his lips and began carefully scanning the patrol mecha's path. Ling Ruoxi also launched a reconnaissance drone from a high ground in the distance, occasionally reminding through the channel: "There are two patrol mechas directly ahead. They will approach Shadow Killer's position in one and a half minutes. Be careful."
