Inside the Spirit Realm Battlefield's control room, the air suddenly grew stagnant. A young technician stared intently at the screen, his voice trembling. "Number 496... is online!"
The senior administrator next to him was drinking spiritual tea. Upon hearing this, his hand shook, and the tea spilled all over him. He didn't even bother to wipe it off, and immediately came over, his expression more nervous than if he had seen a spiritual beast charging around. "Are you sure? Is this really 496?"
The technician nodded, his voice as low as a mosquito: "Absolutely correct! The ID is '496', and he is entering the Chaos Zone!"
The others in the control room were immediately in an uproar.
"496? That legendary number?"
"Why is he here suddenly? Is he here to catch the players who violated the rules?"
"What nonsense! 496 doesn't care about this, he is..."
The administrator glared at them fiercely: "Shut up! Don't make random guesses. Remember, don't alarm him!"
The incredibly simple ID on the screen—"496"—became like a huge rock weighing down everyone's heart. Several young technicians were so nervous that their palms were sweating, and they stared at the screen without blinking, as if afraid to miss a single frame.
The young technician couldn't help but ask, "Senior, who exactly is he? Why are so many top players and forces so wary of him?"
The administrator slowly exhaled and lowered his voice, "496 is one of the founders of the Spirit Realm Battlefield. He's not just the creator of the game world, but a true leader in the world of immortal cultivation. I've heard that his cultivation in reality has reached the Tribulation Crossing Stage. What's terrifying is that his understanding of psychic energy and technology far surpasses anyone else. If you piss him off... not only us, but even the Holy Land and the Tech Clan will bow down."
The control room suddenly fell into silence, and no one dared to speak.
In the virtual space of the Chaos Realm, No. 496 stood quietly in the center of a ruined area. His mecha was simple and austere, a silver-gray suit devoid of any ornamentation, yet it exuded an indescribable sense of oppression.
He called up the battlefield data stream, tapped the interface, and a video playback appeared in the air. His eyes fell on an ID—"Zero."
"Qi training-level mecha?" 496 raised an eyebrow, the corner of his mouth slightly raised. "Are there still people using such low-end configurations these days?"
He clicked on Zero's battle video. In the video, Xiang Fan's mecha was flexibly moving around the battlefield, accurately controlling his spiritual energy. He could even find flaws and deliver a fatal blow when facing a Jindan-level mecha.
496 stared at the screen, his gaze gradually becoming sharper. "This action... doesn't seem like that of an ordinary player."
When Xiang Fan's mech overclocked and tore through the Judgment Domain in the video, 496's fingers paused slightly. He replayed the video several times, confirming that this was not a fluke, but a perfect understanding of psychic power and mech performance.
"Interesting, interesting." 496 muttered to himself, a hint of inexplicable excitement in his voice. "A Qi training-level mecha can achieve this level. This kid is no ordinary person."
He continued to look through Xiang Fan's battle records, frowning slightly. "This player's data is incomplete. It seems like something has been hidden... This makes it even more interesting."
A meaningful smile played on his lips as a string of commands flashed across the interface. He called up the Spirit Realm battlefield's top resource allocation module and entered a line of code:
[Target: Zero] [Test Mission: Verify True Strength] [Trigger: Capture Target Coordinates and Position.]
"Since you can do all this, let me see where your limits are." 496 murmured and closed the interface. The silver-gray mecha gradually disappeared in the chaotic area.
In the main control room, a technician suddenly exclaimed, "A new S-rank mission has been added to the Chaos Domain! The target player is... Zero!"
Upon hearing this, the senior administrator's expression changed. He stood up abruptly, his face filled with shock. "Zero? How could it be him? Could it be that 496 is interested in him?"
The young technician looked puzzled: "Is this a good thing or a bad thing?"
The administrator slapped the technician's head hard and said, "Do you think being targeted by a Tribulation Stage being is a good thing?"
There was a sudden silence in the control room, and no one dared to speak, for fear that their voices would bring about unknown trouble.
In the dust of the Chaos Realm, 496's mech lurked like a cheetah, hidden in the storm, quietly observing its target in the distance. Zero's position was displayed on the screen, where he was carefully clearing out the low-level AI spirit beasts.
"A Qi training-level mecha can be controlled so smoothly." 496 muttered to himself, a hint of interest on his face. "Interesting."
With a flick of his finger, the mecha activated stealth mode and silently approached Zero's position. When he was at a certain distance, he swung the lightsaber in his hand suddenly, and a blazing light-speed slash cut through the sand and went straight to Zero's core.
"Warning! An unknown mecha is approaching!" Zero's mecha system suddenly popped up a prompt, and the screen flashed.
Xiang Fan whipped his head around, only to catch sight of a flash of light descending from the sky. He instinctively maneuvered his mech backward, his movements as swift as lightning, but was still grazed on the arm. A sharp metallic scraping sound echoed, and sparks erupted from Zero's right arm.
"The right arm weapon module is damaged, and the psychic energy output has decreased by 25%." The mechanical fault alarm made Xiang Fan realize instantly that the opponent in front of him was definitely not an ordinary player.
"How could a Qi training-level mecha be this fast?" Xiang Fan's heartbeat quickened, cold sweat oozing from his forehead. "Who the hell is he?"
496's mech remained in no rush to launch a full-scale attack. He seemed to be deliberately slowing down his movements, using a series of near-perfect maneuvers to continuously reduce Zero's space. Even when Zero attempted to gain distance, 496's movements remained calm, like a cat playing with a mouse.
