Chapter 120: Special Training in the Barren Mountains

In the early morning, a thin mist shrouded the barren mountains, dew dampened the grass, and the air was bitterly cold. Ning Yuge stood on a boulder, draped in a tattered cloak, his gaze sweeping over the group of disciples before him. A chilling sneer adorned his face, and his voice was like the crack of cold iron: "From today on, your journey to immortality ends. From now on, welcome to the Hell Survival Class!"

The team members below shuddered and looked at each other in confusion.

Captain Wen Xiu raised his hand and said cautiously, "Brother, it sounds like we're here to die, not to train."

Deputy Captain Yuan Pangpang, holding a bag of spiritual fruits, added with a pained expression, "This place is too desolate! There's not even a spiritual barrier! The mosquito bites are killing us! Brother, you're not really going to let us live here, are you?"

Ning Yuge snorted coldly, his eyes sweeping across Fatty Yuan like a knife. "That's right, this is your home for the next week. Don't even think about spiritual tea, futons, or beds. You only have one goal—to get down this mountain alive."

"What?!" The team members were shocked, their eyes widened, unable to believe their ears.

"Brother!" Zhang Xiyu stepped forward, adjusted the spirit mirror on his nose, and said seriously, "According to tactical theory, this kind of environment should have a minimum level of spiritual barrier protection, right? Otherwise, if something goes wrong, wouldn't our risk factor be too high?"

"Psychic barrier?" Ning Yuge sneered, pointing to the desolate hillside around him. "During the competition, will the enemy give you psychic barrier protection? Do you think this is a psychic nursing home? I tell you, here there are only electric shocks, frustrations, and a belly full of regrets!"

Wen Xiu quickly added, "Brother, you're being too harsh. Competitions aren't that cruel, are they?"

"I'm cruel?" Ning Yuge's eyes widened, and his voice was like thunder: "If you continue to be so weak, you won't lose the competition, you will lose the face of the sect! If you don't want to do this, you can go home and cry to your mother now!"

The team members were silent, shuddering. Although they felt wronged, no one dared to talk back, and they could only obey orders.

Ning Yuge saw their cowardly expressions, sneered, clapped his hands and said, "Very good, now let's begin the first step of the special training - crawling across the psychic sand."

As soon as he finished speaking, everyone was driven to a sandy area on the top of the mountain. The sand looked ordinary, but if you carefully sensed it, you could detect subtle spiritual fluctuations permeating the ground. It seemed that there was some deadly trap hidden under every piece of sand.

Ning Yuge stood at the edge of the sand, pointing to the road ahead. "Each person carries ten stone blocks on their backs and climbs from one end to the other. If you trigger a psychic trap and get electrocuted along the way, you can only blame your bad luck. Who dares to be lazy? I will personally 'serve' him!"

"What?!" Wen Xiu was so shocked that he couldn't close his mouth. "Brother, this is too dangerous!"

Fatty Yuan patted his round belly and said with a look of resistance, "I'm so big, crawling forward is too unrealistic! How about I go move some rocks nearby to build up my strength?"

Ning Yuge sneered at him, "Fatty Yuan, you're so intelligent, why haven't you ascended to become an immortal yet? Do you think that because you run and crawl slowly, the enemy will wait until you finish moving the rocks before fighting you? Now, get down!"

Fatty Yuan shrank his neck, looking aggrieved, but seeing Ning Yuge's eyes, he could only lie down silently, pick up ten stone blocks, and start crawling forward.

"Zhang Xiyu!" Ning Yuge turned to him. "What's your theory? Come on, tell me how to avoid electric shock when crawling in the sand."

Zhang Xiyu raised his head and said seriously, "Theoretically, we can find the safest crawling route by calculating the frequency of psychic energy fluctuations—"

"Pa!" Ning Yuge slapped him on the head and yelled, "Where's the theory? Can theory crawl? Get down!"

Zhang Xiyu lay on the sand with a wronged look on her face, muttering softly, "If I'm not allowed to talk about theory, then what's the point of my existence..."

The team members finally all lay down. Ning Yuge stood on a rock with her hands on her hips and shouted condescendingly: "Listen up! The psychic traps in this sand won't stop at nothing just because you're cute. If you crawl slowly, I'll electrocute you. If you crawl quickly, don't blame me if you hit a rock! Start!"

Suddenly, a wailing sound was heard in the sand.

"Ah! I got electrocuted!"

"Why is this stone so hard?!"

"Brother, the stone pillar is too heavy, I can't climb it anymore!"

Ning Yuge folded his arms and watched coldly, with a hint of sneer on his face: "Can't climb? Very good, if you can't climb, roll down! After you're done climbing, I'll let you roll back!"

Fatty Yuan's belly was stuck on a small slope, unable to move. He looked up and gasped, "Brother... I really can't climb anymore... Let me rest for a while..."

Ning Yuge walked over and kicked the stone block on his back: "Stop? Do you think this is a spiritual tea conference? If you dawdle again, I'll give you ten more stone blocks!"

Wen Xiu, who was standing by, wanted to plead for mercy, but Ning Yuge glared back at him and he could only continue to crawl silently.

The sand in the early morning was like a primitive battlefield. The sunlight pierced through the mist and sprinkled on it. Every grain of sand seemed to be laughing secretly, waiting to severely torture those ignorant disciples.

The first scream shattered the morning silence. A disciple had just crawled three steps when his elbow triggered a hidden psychic trap. A blue-white psychic current instantly shot up from the ground, sending him flying half a meter into the air, leaving him sprawled on the sand.

"Ahhh! I'm going to die! Brother, help me!" He rolled wildly on the ground, his face full of pain.
