Chapter 23 Accidental Exposure

The virtual image of the Spirit Realm battlefield gradually became clearer, and Xiang Fan's Zero Mech slowly landed on the open ground outside the Desert Sand City. Yellow sand filled the sky all around, dotted with the mech's footprints, and a subtle sense of desolation hung in the air.

"What's going on?" Xiang Fan stared at the scene in front of him, frowning, his mind a mess. "Didn't I log off in Lingxi Valley last time? What the hell is this place?"

He hurriedly opened the mecha's system panel, his fingers rapidly tapping on the virtual keyboard. "Near Desert Sand City..." His mouth twitched. "Oh, my god! I forgot to set the offline location! What a disaster..."

Just as Xiang Fan was trying to quickly figure out the situation, a sudden and piercing alarm rang in his ears, scaring him so much that he almost tore off the mecha's joystick.

“Drip—drip—drip—”

The Zero Mecha's sensors lit up warning lights, and the system detected several mechas not far away staring at him intently. One of them was waving its arms vigorously, looking extremely excited.

"Zero Mech? No way..." a player's voice came, mixed with obvious excitement, "Zero? That Zero?! Holy shit, I actually ran into a living one!"

"Is this true?! I'll take a picture and post it on the forum!" Another person spoke rapidly, "Big news! Zero has reappeared in the Bronze Division!"

Xiang Fan's scalp tingled when he heard this, and he quickly turned around to control the mecha, preparing to run away. However, in his panic, his mecha movements looked a little awkward, stumbling around like a drunk man, so clumsy that even he wanted to cover his face.

The onlookers were clearly not impressed by the scene and directly turned on the live broadcast, even using the barrage function. The screen was quickly filled with dense messages.

"Hahaha, Zero's movement is really amazing. From this angle, doesn't it look like my three-year-old nephew is controlling a remote control car?"

"Hold on! Don't laugh out loud! Give the great god some face!"

"Honestly, this scene can keep me laughing for three days!"

Xiang Fan could almost hear the barrage of comments transforming into wild laughter. He gritted his teeth as he adjusted his mecha's balance system, silently praying that these people would stop. But as expected, the Spirit Realm Forum's front page was flooded with comments within minutes.

"Zero has appeared! Outside the Desert City in the Bronze Zone!" "Attached photo: Basic mecha Zero, looking lost, like a novice player who's strayed into a boss's arena!"

The comment section instantly boiled over:

"Zero? He must be a genius from a hidden sect. I can only bow down to him for such an operation."

"Zero has actually descended upon the Bronze Zone? Is he planning to slaughter all the newbies?"

"Please give me the exact coordinates! I'd like to be the first to challenge him! Maybe I can create a legend!"

Elsewhere, Ling Ruoxi's group of admirers was already in an uproar. Yu Fengyang practically jumped up when he saw the news, grabbing the mecha console and shouting, "Zero has appeared? Perfect! I was looking for him! Junior Sister Ling will definitely want me to teach this guy a lesson for her!"

Gao Mingheng slapped his thigh and agreed, "What a great opportunity! Once Zero appears, Junior Sister Ling is bound to look at him differently."

Chu Han snorted coldly, his tone full of contempt: "You losers, do you think Zero is so easy to deal with? Forget it, it's better to rely on me. Only those who are fast can restrain him."

Lin Ze's eyes were calm as he waved his hand to interrupt them: "Stop talking nonsense! Act quickly. Find him and attack him together! Don't let him get away!"

Instantly, several pursuers quickly formed teams, assembled a fleet of mechas, and headed straight for the Desert City. Each face was filled with the determination to win, yet few realized that their campaign to "encircle and suppress Zero" would ultimately become a new wave of "joy" on the forum.

Xiang Fan's Zero Mech was darting across the yellow sand with an inelegant yet incredibly efficient demeanor. The dust kicked up by the mech's footsteps resembled a tangled salon. His palms were sweaty, his eyes fixed on the screen, his hands busy as if playing a symphony of fate.

"What the hell? Why is it always me who gets filmed?" Xiang Fan gritted his teeth as he frantically thought of a plan to escape. "Logging into a Spirit Realm battlefield can be turned into a live broadcast. Did I offend some forum boss?"

At this moment, a new alert popped up on the system panel:

"Warning! Pursuers approaching, distance: 500 meters, number: 6."

Xiang Fan nearly fell off the mecha driver's seat, "Six?! They're a group out to catch me!"

He quickly switched the mech into stealth mode, but the Zero Point mech's concealment function was only basic. In Xiang Fan's words, it was like using a leaf to block out the sun in the desert—completely useless. He adjusted his route while mentally screaming, "Calm down! Calm down! Xiang Fan, you mustn't flip over here!"

However, reality offered him no respite. Several high-level mechas swooped in like hounds, their speed breathtaking. One of these streamlined mechas suddenly leaped from the sand dunes ahead, gracefully blocking the Zero Point mecha.

"Haha, Zero, I finally caught you!" Yu Fengyang's annoying voice came from the communication channel, as excited as if he had won the lottery, "Stop struggling, you can't escape today!"

Xiang Fan nearly broke the joystick and stamped his feet in anger: "Can't they be quiet? It's just a game, how much free time do these people have!"

Meanwhile, the pursuers were closing in, and the encirclement was rapidly shrinking. Yu Fengyang even struck a "standard greeting pose," his mecha arms outstretched, as if inviting Xiang Fan to surrender.

"Do you want to surrender? If so, I can consider leaving you one of your mecha legs." Yu Fengyang added another knife in the communication channel.

Xiang Fan took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down. The undulating sand dunes on the screen caught his eye, and his eyes lit up slightly. The next second, he abruptly turned the Zero Mech and charged towards the dunes in the opposite direction. The mech's engines roared, churning with dust and sand, and a sense of "leave me alone, I'm just going to run" washed over him.

Yu Fengyang obviously didn't expect Xiang Fan to suddenly change direction, and he was still shouting: "Hey! Don't run! Fight head-on! Aren't you Zero?!"

Xiang Fan ignored him and just said in the communication channel: "I'll leave the frontal confrontation to you. Time is precious, don't waste it."

This short sentence, delivered with a tone of indifference and disdain, successfully infuriated Yu Fengyang. He frantically controlled his mecha in pursuit, but the graceful mecha shadow on the sand dunes kept escaping, as if declaring to its pursuers: "I'm only good at escaping. Come and catch me, you noobs!"
