Chapter 108 Farewell

Shen Shiyi drove the three away. At the airport, as they parted, they hugged each other, tears streaming down their faces.

Aunt Qu, who was waiting nearby, had already shed tears. Although she had never served in the army, she knew the deep camaraderie between comrades-in-arms.

As the three of them went inside to check, they quickly waved goodbye to Shen Shiyi.

"goodbye."

Shen Shiyi waved in response, and Aunt Qu, wiping away her tears, also waved goodbye.

After losing sight of them, Shen Shiyi turned to Qu Sao and spoke.

"Sister Qu, let's go back to the old house."

Aunt Qu nodded slightly, glancing back inside with reluctance as she left.

Shen Shiyi's car pulled up outside the old house and stopped. After she got out of the car, her bodyguard stepped forward and saluted.

"Young Madam."

Then I got in the car and drove it to the parking garage.

Shen Shiyi and Aunt Qu entered the old house one after the other, changing their shoes in the entrance hall. As Shen Shiyi stood up, she heard laughter coming from inside and looked up to see Grandpa Su telling a story to the two children.

This heartwarming scene brought a smile to Shen Shiyi and Aunt Qu's face. The two women went to the sofa, and the two children immediately beamed with joy upon seeing their mother.

"Hello, Mom and Grandma."

"Mom, Grandma, you're back."

Grandpa Su looked up when he heard the noise, his face beaming with a loving smile.

"I'm back."

Shen Shiyi sat down with a faint smile.

"Yes, Grandpa."

Grandpa Su looked at his granddaughter-in-law.

"I heard from your mother that you sent your comrade away?" His grandson is impressive, and his granddaughter-in-law is no less so; he is very satisfied with this marriage.

"Yes, they went back."

Grandpa Su thought of her wedding leave and spoke softly.

"When are you going back to school?" Last time, Commander Nangong and Principal Wang both seemed to admire her greatly.

"tomorrow."

Grandpa Su was taken aback.

"So fast? Wow, time really flies."

Uncle Ning chuckled softly.

"Sir, the young mistress's profession is special, there's nothing we can do about it."

Grandpa Su nodded slightly.

"Yes, they are all for the country and the people. When Zimo was still in the army, we would only see him once a year."

Shen Shiyi smiled slightly when she heard her grandfather's complaints.

After returning to her room to rest, she went to the study and sat quietly, and no one knew what she was thinking.

Since their son's death, Mr. and Mrs. Leng seem to have aged several years. In recent years, the couple has been working hard on charity work to numb themselves.

Standing quietly by the window, Leng's mother had a sorrowful and melancholy look in her eyes; only Leng's father knew what she was thinking.

The father, who sighed silently, slowly stepped forward.

"Xinqin".

Lost in her own thoughts, Leng's mother did not hear her husband's call.

Helpless, the father spoke up again.

"Xinqin".

This time, Leng's mother reacted slightly and turned to look at her husband behind her.

"Qingfeng, what's wrong?" She had just been lost in thought.

Father Leng pursed his lips and shook his head.

"fine.",

Suddenly, a torrential downpour began outside, catching everyone completely off guard. A sudden clap of thunder startled the couple.

Leng's mother suddenly called out towards the window.

"It's raining again."

Leng's father softly echoed.

"yes."

Mother Leng remembered something and spoke softly.

"A few days ago was the wedding day of Su's grandson. I heard that his husband is a soldier." She remembered Qianhan's white moonlight, who later also became a soldier. She wondered how she was doing.

Over the years, the couple never harbored any resentment towards her. Their fate was sealed, and she had no one to blame but herself.

When his wife suddenly brought up the matter, the father thought that the woman was his son's first love, and perhaps she would feel a little better.

"That's exactly what I wanted to tell you."

Leng's mother turned around in confusion.

"you say."

Leng's father stepped forward, embraced his wife, and led her to the sofa.

“I hired a private investigator and discovered that the bride who got married in the Su family yesterday was the same person we saw before.”

When he and his wife went to visit their son's grave, they brushed past a short-haired woman.

Mother Leng asked in surprise, "Really?"

Father Leng looked at his wife's face and nodded earnestly.

"Yes."

After a while, Leng's mother smiled with relief.

"That's for the best. She's had a tough time too. If it weren't for that person's interference, our grandchildren might be several years old by now."

After hearing what his wife said, Mr. Leng was also deeply saddened. The sudden death of their son was like a parent outliving their child.

Shen Shiyi never imagined that she would run into her first love's parents in traffic before she returned to school.

The moment their eyes met, both Mr. and Mrs. Leng froze. Mrs. Leng tried to speak to Shen Shiyi. Shen Shiyi was going in the opposite direction, and because of the honking of the cars behind her, she had no choice but to drive away.

Disappointed, Leng's mother turned to look at the departing car, and only turned back when it was out of sight.

"Qingfeng, I see her."

Leng's mother spoke to herself, her hands trembling slightly. So many years have passed, and every time she thinks of it, it's filled with regret.

Leng's father wasn't in much better shape either, but he had to stay calm because he was his wife's pillar of support.

The father reached out and held his wife's trembling hands, gently comforting her.

"Yes, I saw it too. As long as she's doing well, that's all that matters."

She hopes that the man who marries her will treat her well, even if her son can't do everything for her.

After arriving at the school parking lot, Shen Shiyi didn't get out of the car. The fleeting scene from earlier still left her feeling unsettled. Those were Qian Han's parents. For so many years, she hadn't appeared before them, afraid of upsetting them and reminding them of the past.
