The next day, Sophie Qu, along with Gu Niansi and Shen Shizhifan, came to accompany Su Lielong for his checkup.
The precocious Gu Niansi spoke to Su Lielong.
"Uncle, be strong."
The three adults laughed when they heard her words. Su Lielong's smile reflected his good mood as he reached out and patted Gu Niansi's head.
"Thank you for your encouragement, Niannian. Uncle will keep up the good work."
The four watched as the nurse pushed him away, only turning their gaze away when his figure disappeared from sight.
Sophie looked down at Gu Niansi.
"Niannian, shall we sit over there and wait for Uncle?"
Gu Niansi nodded.
"good."
An hour and a half later, the nurse wheeled Su Lielong out. Su Fei looked up and asked him a question.
"Dr. Cai, how is it?" Sigh, people shouldn't be sick; being sick is truly suffering.
Gu Niansi and Shen Zhifan both looked at Dr. Cai.
"Mr. Su's condition has not worsened and he's been doing quite well lately." He also found it rather amazing.
Sophie smiled in relief after hearing this.
"That's good. Thank you for your help, Dr. Cai."
After giving his instructions, Dr. Cai turned and left, her eyes filled with both joy and sorrow. Mr. Su was such an outstanding person, yet he was struck by such an illness; it was truly a case of heaven being jealous of talent.
Gu Niansi stepped forward and hugged Su Lielong.
"Uncle, you're so brave! I'll give you an extra chicken leg when we get back."
Aunt Qu chuckled upon hearing this.
"Niannian, Mr. Su can't eat such greasy food." Niannian is such a precocious little devil.
Gu Niansi was startled and her eyes widened.
"Oh no, I forgot."
Everyone was amused by her adorable expression.
Sophie personally pushed her nephew's wheelchair, with two children flanking him on either side.
Halfway there, as they passed a park, Su Lielong looked outside.
"parking."
Sophie and Gu Niansi looked up at him.
"Lielong, what's wrong?"
"What's wrong with my uncle?"
Su Lielong turned to look at the two of them, his gaze finally settling on Gu Niansi's pretty and cute round face.
"Niannian, how about you accompany your uncle to the park?" It seems he's never been to a park before.
Gu Niansi exclaimed in surprise.
"Uncle, you want to go to the park? I'm good at that."
The bodyguards in the driver's and passenger's seats got out of the car and carried Su Lielong's wheelchair out.
"Young master, please be careful."
Gu Niansi raised her chubby hand and grabbed Su Lielong's thin, bony hand.
“Uncle, my brother and I will be your protectors, so you can enjoy the scenery without worry.”
Sophie couldn't help but laugh.
"Niannian, you really dare to say that."
Gu Niansi looked up.
"Grandma, that's how it's portrayed in TV dramas."
"Alright, alright, left and right guardians, be careful."
The two men raised their hands in salute.
"Yes, sir."
Aunt Qu couldn't stop laughing.
"These two children are so adorable." She's been taking care of them for years; they're practically her grandchildren.
Gu Niansi and her brother led Su Lielong to the lotus pond in front.
"Uncle, the lotus pond over there is very beautiful, let's go see it."
Su Lielong nodded slightly.
"Okay, thank you for your hard work, my two darlings."
Gu Niansi waved her hand.
"You're welcome. Mom said that a family should help each other and be united and loving." Mom is right, and now that she's a teacher, she's even more right.
When Su Lielong heard her mention her mother, he suddenly remembered his younger brother and sister-in-law, whom he had only met a few times.
Su Lielong looked up and touched Gu Niansi's little face.
"Your mother is a good person. You should listen to her more in the future, understand?" His sister-in-law really impressed him. She raised two children by herself, both of whom were adopted. Most people don't have that kind of love and courage.
Gu Niansi thought her uncle was acting strangely, but she still nodded obediently.
"good."
When Grandpa Su saw them return, he looked at Gu Niansi and Shen Zhifan pushing his grandson's wheelchair. Such a heartwarming scene made him smile slightly.
"I'm back."
Gu Niansi and her brother pushed Su Lielong to the sofa, and Gu Niansi walked towards Grandpa Su.
"Great-Grandpa, we're back."
Grandpa Su raised his hand and affectionately patted Gu Niansi's head.
"Thank you for your hard work, Niannian and Fanfan."
Gu Niansi responded with a generous and magnanimous attitude, despite her young age.
"It's not hard work, we're all family."
Uncle Ning, who brought the tea, laughed when he heard this.
"Young lady, you're really amazing."
Gu Niansi had a bright smile on her face.
Night falls and the city lights come on.
Qin Ziming walked home with a smile on his face. When he arrived at the old house, a soft body hugged his waist.
"Dad, you're back."
Hearing her daughter's voice, Qin Ziming's heart melted, and she immediately bent down and picked her up.
"Yes, you're back. I didn't bring you any food today."
Gu Niansi waved her hand.
"It's okay, there's always next time."
Qin Ziming was amused by her cute tone and expression.
"You're such a clever little devil." But my daughter is still the best, all sweet and soft.
Shen Zhifan played chess with Grandpa Su on the sofa.
The two looked completely absorbed in their work, unaffected by Qin Ziming's return home. Curious, Qin Ziming approached and found their focused expressions rather unusual.
"Grandpa, Fanfan, when did you two start playing chess?"
One is in his seventies, the other is only a few years old; this combination is too mysterious.
Grandpa Su didn't even look up and spoke.
"A true gentleman observes chess without speaking; he simply watches quietly."
Upon hearing this, Qin Ziming reluctantly shut up. Gu Niansi, upon hearing her great-grandfather's words, quickly covered her mouth, and Qin Ziming was amused by her adorable expression once again.
