Aunt Ni and Aunt Wu were busy in the kitchen, and Mother Yan warmly welcomed the family.
"Please come in. You've come all this way. Why did you bring anything? Don't be so formal."
Sophie and Yan's mother were about the same age, and she smiled gently when she heard what she said.
"It's nothing. We do this to show the children that we can't let them learn to take advantage of others from a young age. Please understand."
Seeing this, Mother Yan had nothing more to say.
"Fine, fine, you're in charge."
Then Yan's mother looked at everyone.
"Lunch is still a while away, everyone come and have some snacks and fruit."
Gu Niannian saw her favorite grapes and kiwis and happily walked over.
"Grandma Yan, I'd like to eat some grapes and kiwis. Grandma says grapes contain calcium, which is good for replenishing blood and energy."
Seeing how knowledgeable she was, Yan's father couldn't help but smile.
"Niannian is so amazing! What are the nutritional benefits of kiwifruit?"
Gu Niansi ate grapes and rested her chin on her hand, deep in thought.
"To improve physical fitness, by the way, Mom should eat more."
Yan Yaru, who had just returned home after finishing her business, couldn't help but ask a question upon hearing this.
"Oh, why does Mom need to eat more?"
Everyone looked up when they heard her voice, and Gu Niansi ran over in surprise and hugged her leg.
"Hello, Aunt Yaru."
Yan Yaru raised her hand and patted her head.
"Niannian, are you trying to curry favor with your aunt?"
Gu Niansi raised her head, her innocent eyes looking at her.
"Yeah, if you latch onto someone's coattails, you won't go hungry."
Everyone laughed when they heard this.
Gu Niansi couldn't help but feel puzzled when she saw them all laughing.
Did I say something wrong?
Yan Yaru patted her little head and said, "No, our Niannian is the smartest. You still don't know why Mommy should eat more kiwis."
Yan Yaru led her to the sofa and sat down, asking with an amused expression.
"Because it's a beauty filter. If Mom gets prettier, Dad will love her even more."
Everyone felt both relieved and amused by her reasoning.
Mother Yan couldn't help but feel envious. "Oh, daughters are indeed like warm cotton-padded jackets. You two are so lucky. Unlike mine, which is a leaky one."
Upon hearing her words, Shen Shiyi covered her face and laughed. Yan Yaru, seeing this, was somewhat embarrassed to refute her.
"Mom, what are you saying? How can you be so hurtful?"
Yan's mother glared at her daughter and shook her head helplessly.
Fearing that the two of them would affect today's gathering, Yan's father tried to smooth things over.
"Alright, alright, you two stop fooling around, you're making the kids laugh at you."
The two looked down and, sure enough, spotted Gu Niansi smirking. Yan Yaru then took the opportunity her father had given her to back down.
"Niannian, you actually laughed at Auntie! That's too much! I'm going to tickle you!"
He then made a move, shouting "Hali hali".
Gu Niansi was successfully frightened and hid at Yan's mother's place.
"Grandma Yan, Auntie is tickling me, please help me."
Seeing that she complained so quickly, Yan Yaru was surprised and spoke out.
"Wow, you've managed to achieve your goal indirectly."
During this trip, Shen Shiyi felt that her daughter had become more confident and her son seemed to have become more robust.
Qin Ziming chuckled and shook his head.
"Niannian, you have to say thank you before you ask for something."
Gu Niansi, be more obedient.
During the meal, Gu Niansi gazed at the Dongpo pork.
"Dad, your arms are long, could you help me pinch them? Thank you."
Qin Ziming took on the role of serving food diligently, picking up various dishes for his daughter and wife.
With their family joining, the Yan family home became exceptionally lively.
"Don't just focus on eating the vegetables, you can have some soup too. Your Aunt Yan had it stewed this morning, it's really nutritious, and I can't remember what else she put in it."
Mother Yan chuckled softly, "Angelica and astragalus, adding these to stewed chicken makes it especially nourishing."
Sophie has every right to speak on this.
"This dish is indeed quite good. I originally planned to stew it for Shiyi, but she fell into a coma for three months, which scared us all to death."
Hearing her aunt's words, Shen Shiyi sighed, realizing how lucky she was to be alive.
Sophie, who was on the other side, started laughing as she spoke.
"I'll give Shiyi a proper postpartum treatment when she's in confinement next time."
Yan's mother was taken aback and looked at Shen Shiyi, who was eating quietly.
"Are you pregnant with your second child?"
Upon hearing this, Gu Niansi and Shen Zhifan both looked up at her.
"Mom, are you having another baby?"
Shen Shiyi was stunned. When did she become pregnant again?
Upon hearing Yan's mother's question, Sophie chuckled softly.
"No, no, you misunderstood. I meant next time."
Upon hearing this, Yan's mother gave an awkward smile.
"Feel sorry."
Shen Shiyi shook her head slightly. "It's alright, Auntie, please eat."
After everyone finished their meal, they enjoyed the sunshine under the shade of the trees on the lawn outside.
Sophie and Yan's mother sat facing each other on a waterproof and moisture-proof picnic blanket.
"Your house is getting more and more lively now."
"It's going to be quite lively. It will be even more lively when your Yaru gets married and has children."
Upon hearing this, Yan's mother looked at her daughter, who was chatting happily with Shen Shiyi, and shook her head helplessly.
"Oh well, let her be." Whether she'll be able to hold her grandson in her lifetime is still a question.
Seeing her sigh, Sophie didn't want to dwell on the topic, so she changed the subject.
"When is it convenient for you to come to our house for a get-together?"
Mother Yan happily replied, "That's great."
Two people sat on the side of the pavilion, chatting idly.
"President Qin is young and promising. Under your leadership, Su's Group will surely reach new heights."
The two exchanged pleasantries: "Uncle Yan, just call me Zimo. Thank you for your kind words."
