Chapter 2 Farewell

Li Xinye's tall and imposing figure approached and stopped beside Su Bing'er. His gaze calmly swept over the affectionate man opposite him.

Adding fuel to the fire, he provocatively said, even sniffing the bride's neck in her presence. "Brother, you're here! How about it, isn't my bride beautiful?"

Brothers turned against each other, and the struggle for love began at this moment. He gazed tenderly at his beautiful bride, his voice soft yet cruel as he said, "She won't go with you, will she, my bride?"

Hmph, he'll show him what it feels like to be hurt by the person he loves. He'll see how he reacts when the saying "one should not covet a friend's wife" comes true.

"Sweetie, it's time for our wedding. You're watching us, aren't you? Mommy and Daddy are getting married soon."

Her large, warm hands rested on her still-flat belly. She looked up and made eye contact with the emcee, who understood.

The wedding ceremony should be a time for couples to walk hand in hand, surrounded by the sincere blessings of family and friends. Beside the bride should be her best sisters, friends, and confidantes, dressed as bridesmaids, walking alongside her towards the groom. But none of this was there. The table at the bride's family's table was pitifully empty.

Yes, I betrayed his and her love, so what right do I have to have happiness?

The emcee's loud and clear voice rang out, "Ms. Su Bing'er, do you take Mr. Li Xinye, the man before you, to be your lawfully wedded husband? To be tolerant, understanding, and caring towards each other, to stay together through thick and thin, until the end of your lives? Do you?"

His eyes met hers, and his gaze seemed to say no, his heart was bleeding. Despite his best efforts, he clearly heard her say "I do."

As all the guests looked at the bride on the stage, her lips parted and she uttered the words "I...do" with her last bit of strength, a painful and insincere statement.

"Groom, you may kiss your bride." His warm lips pressed against her own, sensual lips, a trail of glistening tears streaming down her cheeks. It wasn't tears of emotion, but of despair.

No, I don't believe it, Bing'er, these are your words. Watching the two embracing on the stage, champagne roses and bouquets fell to the ground. Despair and heartbreak pierced my soul as I turned away. Goodbye, my beloved girl, my only wife.

In the dead of night, a bloody, cruel, and horrifying scene appeared in her dream. She repeatedly cried out "No!" and woke up drenched in sweat. Why? The dream couldn't be so real. Suddenly, a heart-wrenching pain gripped her. Hearing the commotion, the maid rushed to her side and dialed 120 (the emergency number).

The quiet night was broken by the sound of two ambulances passing each other, unaware that it was a final farewell.

Farewell, my girl. In my heart, you are my only wife in this life. I wish you happiness, my Bing'er. Outside the operating room, people paced back and forth anxiously, waiting.

Inside the operating room, Su Bing'er lay pale and lifeless on the bed, already in shock. Only the anxious voices of the doctor and nurses could be heard: "Quick, the patient has been in shock for one minute! We need to start resuscitation immediately!"

In the quiet living room of the villa, the slightly anxious footsteps of the maid, Aunt He, could be heard. She quickly went upstairs through the living room to a tightly closed room on the second floor, and gently pushed open the door. Before the sheer French windows, a gentle and beautiful woman stood quietly, seemingly having been there for an hour.

For the past two years, she has often been lost in thought, like a lifeless puppet, her slender figure so thin that it seems a mere breeze could blow her over. Aunt He walked up to her without noticing her at all.

"Young Madam, why are you standing here? It's getting cold outside, let's go inside." In this family, Aunt He was the closest to her.

Such a beautiful and gentle woman deserved the best in the world, but fate was cruel, bestowing upon her the most painful life. It seems that matter still must be done, young mistress. I hope this time you can leave forever.

In the car, Mrs. He naturally looked up at her watch, her face filled with anxiety. "Oh no!"

"What's wrong, Mrs. He?" the bodyguard asked cautiously. There was no other way; the young master had instructed that the young mistress must be accompanied wherever she went, and no mishaps could be tolerated.

Otherwise, they risk losing their jobs. They have elderly parents to support and young children to raise; they must make a living.

"Oh dear, look at this old woman! Madam told me I absolutely had to buy live silver carp, and I forgot. How about this, young mistress, you all go back first, I'll get out of the carriage and go buy it."

Time is running out, and I must finish it quickly; there's no room for error.

The bodyguards thought for a moment and then agreed. After all, their responsibility was to protect the young mistress; it wasn't their business what happened to others. After getting out of the car, Mrs. He stood there and watched it drive away.

I feel terrible. Young mistress, please don't blame me. I'm only doing this for your own good. You will be happy in the next world.

"Hello, is this Young Master Ji? This is Aunt He. Yes... okay... okay... don't worry, I'll take care of it." She hung up the phone, put it in her pocket, and headed towards the market.

My wife's favorite dish is pickled fish; I have to rush back to make it today.

Li Xinye returned from a month-long business trip abroad. He walked out of the airport with steady steps, making a phone call as he went.

The quiet and oppressive atmosphere in the car was quite depressing, until a pop song started playing. The bodyguards exchanged glances with their young master and respectfully took out their phones.

He didn't know what was said on the other end, but he looked up at the woman sitting quietly in the back seat and said, "Young Master, Young Madam is in the car. We're on our way back to the villa. Yes, we'll arrive in about an hour. Okay, okay."

Since getting married, they've followed her everywhere. Su Bing'er's personal freedom has been restricted; she's guarded by bodyguards every day, and even when she goes out, they're there. They're like sticky candy that she can't shake off, and eventually, she's gotten used to it. Most of the time, she's quiet, seemingly without any presence, like an ice queen, rarely speaking more than ten words a day.
