When Commander Nangong saw Qin Ziming's application for discharge from the military, his eyes widened instantly.
Commander Nangong: Zimo, what's going on? Why did you suddenly submit a discharge application?
Unable to understand, he immediately called Qin Ziming to his office.
When Qin Ziming entered the commander's office, he stood ramrod straight, accepting the commander's scrutiny.
"Give me a reasonable explanation."
Qin Ziming pursed his lips tightly.
"Commander, my grandfather wants me to go home and take over the group." He had no choice. The Su family only had one son, but he was sick. The Qin family also only had one son, and he had to shoulder the responsibility of the family.
Commander Nangong was taken aback: he had never expected this to be the reason.
“I remember you have an older brother.”
Qin Ziming sighed.
"He's sick and won't live much longer. My maternal grandfather, uncle, and elder brother all hope that I will take over the group and marry Shiyi and have children as soon as possible." He might not even be able to have a proper relationship anymore. He's not too bothered by it, but he feels a little sorry for Shiyi.
Commander Nangong now knows the truth and doesn't know what to say.
Shen Shiyi returned to school to continue teaching.
She was giving her students a surprise exam while teaching them. An hour later, she collected the papers and returned to her office to grade them. Just as she was finishing grading, Nangong Zixin called.
"Baozi, are you busy?"
Shen Shiyi pursed her lips slightly.
"Almost done."
"How are things going between you and that Mr. Qin?" She was hoping that she would get married soon and find her own happiness.
Thinking of Qin Ziming, Shen Shiyi's usually aloof face suddenly broke into a smile.
"I might be getting married soon, so you'd better prepare the gift money quickly."
Nangong Zixin was extremely surprised when she heard this.
"What? You're getting married?" Wow, that's incredibly fast.
"when?"
"It's not decided yet, I'll let you know when the time comes."
Nangong Zixin pursed her lips slightly.
"Okay, let's make it clear first that I'll be your bridesmaid."
Shen Shiyi wanted to tell her that she was remarried, but she was afraid of affecting her good mood, so she held back for a moment.
"Whatever makes you happy." Nangong Zixin was suddenly touched by her tone of pampering.
"It sounds like you're pampering a child."
Shen Shiyi couldn't help but raise a slight smile.
"Whatever you say goes."
After hanging up the phone, Nangong Zixin happily paced back and forth in the living room. This was the scene that greeted Madam Nangong when she came downstairs after her afternoon nap.
"Zixin, what are you doing? You're going to ruin our floor!"
Hearing her mother's words, Nangong Zixin suddenly stopped. Madam Nangong felt as if she had lost her balance and felt insecure.
"Ah, Zixin, what are you doing? Put Mom down quickly."
Nangong Zixin obediently put her down. After calming down, Madam Nangong asked in confusion.
"What good news has made you so happy?"
Nangong Zixin's face was beaming with joy.
"Shiyi is getting married."
Lady Nangong was startled.
"What? Really?" This is so sudden.
Nangong Zixin spoke with absolute certainty.
"Of course it's true."
Qin Ziming was officially discharged from the army half a month later. After packing his luggage, he looked at the place where he used to train, his eyes filled with reluctance.
But Xintian, Liu Feng, and the others saw him off with reluctance.
"Boss, until we meet again."
After he finished speaking, everyone saluted.
Qin Ziming forced back her tears and solemnly gave a standard military salute.
"Brothers, until we meet again."
Uncle Chen, the driver for the Su family, was already waiting outside the military base.
Qin Ziming turned and walked towards the door, not allowing herself to look back; everything was in the past.
When they reached the gate, Uncle Chen quickly got out of the car.
"Young Master, please give me the luggage, Li."
Qin Ziming nodded slightly.
"Thank you, Uncle Chen."
He then turned around and took a deep look at the place where he had lived and worked for many years, raised his hand and gave a solemn military salute, then turned and got into the car.
The moment the car started moving, he knew he would never come back.
Shen Shiyi knew he was being discharged from the army today, so she called him specifically. Qin Ziming, still heartbroken and immersed in grief, didn't hear the call.
Uncle Chen couldn't help but remind him.
"Young Master, your phone is ringing."
Shen Shiyi was very puzzled when she didn't answer the phone for a long time.
Qin Ziming snapped out of his daze after Uncle Chen called him repeatedly.
"What?"
"Young Master, your phone is ringing."
Qin Ziming looked at the phone in Yiwo's hand, picked it up and saw that it was Shiyi, so he quickly answered it.
"Hey, Shiyi."
"Are you on your way back?" She heard the rustling of the wind.
"Yes, what are you doing?" Since the two confirmed their relationship, their tone of voice has become gentler.
Standing by the window, Shen Shiyi looked out.
"I'm not busy right now, I have to go to class later."
Qin Ziming had fantasized countless times about them talking like this.
"You should get some sleep; you'll feel better when you get home."
Qin Ziming jokingly replied, "Yes, ma'am."
Hearing his words, Shen Shiyi's cheeks flushed almost imperceptibly.
"I'm not talking to you anymore, you're never serious."
Qin Ziming couldn't help but laugh when he heard that.
"Bye-Bye."
Shen Shiyi hung up the phone first. Although he didn't hear her say goodbye, he was already very satisfied with his current situation.
He then closed his eyes and fell asleep a few minutes later. When Uncle Chen parked his car at the Su family's house, he saw that the young master was still asleep, so he turned around and called for him.
"Young Master, we've arrived."
