The warm embrace stimulated her brain. She sobbed uncontrollably, repeatedly saying, "She's dead, she's dead." As if possessed, she kept repeating it.
"Purple Heart, who died?"
"Father, she's dead. Bing'er is dead. I haven't even brought her to see you yet. How could she be dead? I promised her I would bring her to see you. We've both broken our promises." As if remembering something, she walked out frantically and menacingly. Fearing for her safety, the commander sent Major Qin and the bodyguards outside to follow her.
The mournful hall was deathly quiet, save for the servants' sobs. Suddenly, a loud kick rang out – "Smack!"
The bodyguards who entered with her were all tall and straight, expressionless, and somewhat intimidating. Zi Xin, on the other hand, was like a demon king from hell, her aura chilling to the bone. She walked towards the mourning hall.
Everyone inside was terrified by the scene. What was going on? Why were even soldiers here?
A gentle voice rang out, but the words it spoke sent a chill down one's spine: "Li Xinye, are you alright? She's finally dead. You should be happy now, right? You can cheat on her all you want, and nobody will stop you."
I calmly gaze at the sweetly smiling girl before me. It's a black and white photograph; the girl is gentle and serene, innocent and naive, her playful wink making her even more charming and adorable. But now she's dead, and there's no trace of her remains. Hah, how ironic.
The person is dead, yet the funeral hall is so elaborate, and the burial plot costs hundreds of thousands—that's quite extravagant. Bing'er, this is your husband. Are you happy? You'll never see her radiant smile again. Look at her one more time.
A sinister laugh echoed in the mourning hall, "Heh heh heh, ha ha ha ha ha ha, you really know how to be heartless. The person's dead, and you're still putting on this show. Why didn't you treat him properly when he was alive?"
Turning to the man kneeling on the ground, neither crying nor making a sound, she roared, "Tell me! You killed her! You, Li Xinye, are the real murderer! What right do you have to be here? That once gentle, beautiful, kind, and lively girl, now her body is gone, lying cold and alone on the ground. Why aren't you with her?!"
She suddenly slapped him hard across the face with all her might. What right did this man have? Hahaha.
"You don't deserve it, you ungrateful, two-faced hypocrite! How could I have ever known you? Just knowing you feels like an insult. Rest assured, I'll make you regret ever meeting me."
She leaned close to his ear and whispered something chilling.
"What are you all standing there for? Smash it!" The bodyguards in black suits sprang into action, and in no time the things in the mourning hall were smashed to pieces.
Everyone watched this unfold without daring to utter a sound. Who would dare to stop such a display?
Seeing all this, Aunt He shouted, "No, don't smash it! Miss, let our young mistress rest in peace! How can her soul find peace in the afterlife if you do this?"
Aunt He cried her heart out: I'm sorry, young mistress, there's nothing I can do but ask that you be laid to rest in peace.
Major Qin looked at the beautiful, gentle, smiling girl in the photograph and sighed. She died in the prime of her life; her wonderful life had only just begun. That last glance, he never imagined, would be their final farewell.
Major Qin couldn't help but advise, "Miss Nangong, that's enough. The things have been smashed; let the deceased rest in peace."
He reached out and patted the trembling body.
Perhaps his words had an effect; he slowly approached, tore off a piece of the photo, and stuffed it into his pocket. As he walked, he spoke, his eerie voice echoing in the mourning hall, adding to the sinister atmosphere: "I will make you wish you were dead."
The Li family members trembled all over: they had offended someone they shouldn't have.
