"You actually have intelligence and know how to beg for mercy?" Yu Kai frowned, "Then I can't let you harm the world!" He tightly grasped the long sword in his hand, and the tip of the sword stabbed straight at the black shadow. Spiritual power flowed through the sword, making a slight buzzing sound.
Just as the sword tip was about to penetrate, the black mist suddenly dissipated, revealing a young, tender face. It was a lovable little girl, tears streaming from her large eyes like beads from a broken string. Her tiny body trembled slightly, appearing utterly terrified. Her pale face was devoid of color, her lips pursed in fear, and her frail shoulders twitched constantly.
The longsword abruptly stopped in front of her face, the cold light on the blade reflecting off the little girl's tear-stained face, only making her even more terrified. The air around her seemed to freeze with her fear, and the silence was oppressive.
"Who are you?" Yu Kai retracted his sword, staring at the little girl with a hint of vigilance in his tone.
"Niuniu...Niuniu!" The little girl quickly wiped away her tears, her voice trembling as she answered timidly. Her tiny body curled up as if she wanted to hide herself.
"Have you mutated?" Yu Kai frowned and looked at her carefully, not missing any subtle expression or movement.
"I don't know!" Niuniu shook her head vigorously, her hair a little messy. Her eyes were full of confusion and helplessness, and her two small hands were tightly clutching the corners of her clothes.
"Why are you here? What is your relationship with that mutant zombie?" Yu Kai's voice was cold and his eyes became sharper, as if he wanted to see through the little girl.
"I... I got separated from my mother, so my aunt took me to find her. She took me into a big house, and there were a lot of people inside. They looked at me strangely, gave me delicious food, and new clothes, but they wouldn't take me to find my mother!" The little girl trembled constantly, the fear in her eyes growing stronger, and she looked extremely frightened. "When I looked for my mother, they beat me and didn't give me any food!"
Suddenly, the little girl became extremely emotional, her face flushing crimson. "Bad guys, all bad guys!" She gritted her teeth, her face grim and her features contorted. "They didn't take me to find my mother. They locked me and my wicked brother in the tomb!" The little girl trembled all over, tears welling up again, her sobs piercing her lungs.
"Who is the bad brother?" Yu Kai asked hurriedly, his expression becoming more and more solemn.
The little girl's pupils dilated as she stared at the bone stick in the direction of the tomb. "Bad brother! He's hungry! He wants to eat me! He wants to eat me!" she babbled incoherently, backing away in panic, utterly terrified. "Blood! So much blood! He bit my hands and feet! It hurts! It hurts!" she cried.
Yu Kai stepped forward and hugged her, patting her back gently, "Niuniu, don't be afraid! I'm here, I won't hurt you." Yu Kai's voice became gentle, trying to give the little girl a sense of security.
The little girl hugged Yu Kai tightly, her sobs gradually becoming quieter, but her body continued to tremble like a wounded animal. Suddenly, she bared her two sharp fangs and bit Yu Kai's neck.
Yu Kai felt a piercing pain in his neck, as if countless steel needles were piercing deep into his body. His hand, gripping the hilt of his sword, was shaking. But he said nothing, nor did he push her away roughly. He let Niuniu hold onto his neck, feeling only the warm blood draining away.
After a long moment, Niuniu finally opened her blood-stained mouth. Her fangs slowly vanished, and her face flushed a bit, though her eyes remained filled with vigilance and suspicion. She stepped back, looking at Yu Kai, whose face was as pale as paper. She coldly asked, "Why don't you kill me?" There was no trace of gratitude in her voice, only cold questioning.
"I said, I won't hurt you!" Yu Kai forced a weak smile, but his body shook violently.
"Don't try to fool me. I won't be fooled by you!" The little girl yelled with her eyes wide open. She picked up the mutant bead and ran away without looking back. Her small figure quickly disappeared into the jungle.
Yu Kai looked at her back without saying anything, only sighing helplessly. He then sat down cross-legged, took out the mutant zombie and the shadow's mutation beads, closed his eyes, and quickly absorbed them.
"Roar, roar!" Suddenly, bursts of low roars came from all around the forest. A group of mutant wild boars came towards Yu Kai like a tide. They were huge in size and exuded a terrifying bloodthirsty murderous intent.
"Roar!" The largest mutant boar launched its first attack at Yu Kai, moving at breakneck speed like a tank. Yu Kai immediately opened his eyes, his mecha quickly covering him. A flicker of alarm flashed in his eyes, and he grabbed the longsword beside him and dodged to the side in panic.
"Roar, roar!" The mutant boars roared in unison, their voices deafening as they charged towards him. Yu Kai, having just recovered from his injuries, immediately drew his sword, and the blades flew like lightning. However, the swords only produced sparks on the mutant boars, as if they were wearing indestructible armor, and they were completely harmless.
Yu Kai was not paying attention and was pushed from the side by a ferocious mutant wild boar. The huge impact force made him crash into a thick tree. With a loud "bang", he fell heavily.
Yu Kai hurriedly stood up, but before he could regain his balance, another mutant boar hurled him forward with thunderous force, sending his body arcing through the air. The mutant boars, their bloodthirsty eyes and razor-sharp fangs like spears, surrounded him in an impenetrable circle.
Yu Kai struggled to his feet, gasping for breath. If it weren't for the armored armor shielding him from the mutated boars' sharp tusks, his stomach would have burst open by now. The mutated boars' eyes glowed red, their powerful legs stomping the ground fiercely. Like a raging black torrent, they rushed towards him.
Mechanical wings swiftly opened with a swish, and Yu Kai soared into the air. "Bang!" The mutant boars, unable to stop their momentum, crashed into each other. The immense force of the impact caused them to slam into each other, emitting mournful groans. For a moment, dust flew into the air, and chaos reigned.
Seeing Yu Kai soar into the air, the leading mutant boar howled furiously, lunging with its massive body, its fangs flashing a chilling cold light. Yu Kai flapped his wings rapidly, dodging like a ghost. The boar, missing its target, plummeted with a loud thud, creating a large crater in the ground. It then rolled a great distance, knocking over several trees before coming to rest.
The other mutant boars didn't flinch, pursuing Yu Kai relentlessly. They began with a frantic run, their hooves leaving deep tracks in the ground. Then, like sharp arrows, they launched themselves at Yu Kai. One cunning mutant, while descending, stepped on the back of a fellow boar for leverage, sending Yu Kai careening into the air. Yu Kai lost his balance, drifting like a kite with its string cut.
