Seeing Niuniu's face gradually turn red, Yu Kai was so excited that his whole body was shaking. He stared at Niuniu with his eyes wide open, as if he was afraid that this was just an illusory dream. His hands unconsciously took her little hand.
He noticed her pulse was beating again, that weak but firm beat, like the drumbeat of hope, beating on Yu Kai's heart again and again. He knew it was a success, Niuniu was alive.
Yu Kai's throat was choked, tears of joy welled up in his eyes, his lips trembled, and he murmured to himself: "I'm alive, really alive..." His voice became hoarse with excitement, filled with endless relief and joy.
At this moment, Yu Kai felt like a traveler who had wandered in darkness for so long and finally saw the light of day. A huge weight had finally fallen from his heart. He leaned over and gently stroked Niuniu's cheek, feeling the gradually returning warmth, a smile that seemed to have survived a disaster blooming on his face.
Seeing tears falling from Niuniu's eyes, Yu Kai immediately wiped them away gently, being very careful not to hurt her. Niuniu seemed to want to say something, but she opened her mouth with difficulty. Yu Kai immediately stopped her and said, "Little sister, please don't say anything for now. Just recover well. I'll give you some more mutation beads. Don't worry, you'll be well soon!" His voice was gentle but firm.
Just as he was about to take Niuniu away, he noticed her small hand tugging at his clothes tightly. Niuniu's lips parted slightly, and Yu Kai quickly leaned over to listen carefully. "Brother, hurry up! They're coming!" This sentence seemed to have taken all of Niuniu's strength. Her voice was as thin as a mosquito's, and she fainted again after she finished.
Yu Kai's heart tightened, and he quickly checked her breathing. Finding her breathing steady, she was merely unconscious, he felt relieved. "They, they're coming! Who are they?" Yu Kai frowned, scanning his surroundings. Aside from Xiangnan, who still seemed to be still, he saw nothing unusual. A flicker of alarm flashed in his eyes, and without hesitation, he took Niuniu and flew towards the sea.
He discovered that, in his rage, he had unknowingly harnessed a portion of the mysterious spiritual energy stored within him. This power greatly increased his strength, greatly increasing his combat power to at least that of a clan king. This was the reason he was able to so easily destroy Xiangnan and slay all the mutants. However, the unknown threat at this moment made him dare not slack off, and he only wanted to get Niuniu away from this dangerous place as soon as possible.
He pulled Niu Niu, like a swift light and shadow, towards the nearest sea. The strong wind whistled in his ears. He had only one thought in his mind, which was to hunt the mutant creatures in the ocean, obtain more mutant beads, and let Niu Niu recover quickly.
Suddenly, he found himself in a dreamlike state, his surroundings constantly shifting, the colors distorted, the light blurred. He had unknowingly entered another strange dimension, and darkness suddenly filled his surroundings, thick as ink, and Niuniu had vanished without a trace.
Yu Kai was horrified by this sudden change and felt extremely anxious. He desperately called out, "Niuniu! Little sister!"
His voice continued to echo in this dark space, carrying endless fear and worry, but received no response at all. Only the empty echo repeatedly struck his almost collapsed heart.
He flapped his wings so fast that they almost appeared phantoms, desperately flying forward. His eyes were filled with determination, and his heart had only one obsession, which was to break out of this dark space and find Niuniu.
He didn't know how far he had flown, as if he were traversing an endless abyss of darkness. He only knew that time had passed for an immensely long time, as if the years had stood still in this long flight. Just as the flame of hope within him was about to die out, and he was on the verge of despair, he saw a faint glow ahead, like a firefly in the darkness.
He immediately perked up, like a drowning man grabbing a life-saving straw, and moved towards the fire at a faster speed.
A massive city gate stood before them like an ancient behemoth, its towers reaching into the clouds, a majestic spectacle. Blazing torches lit the towers, their light reaching the sky, illuminating the entire city wall like daylight. Simultaneously, countless brilliant energies shot toward the towers like meteors, slowly transforming before the gates, transforming into ethereal shadows.
Among them were humans, beasts, and all sorts of strange and bizarre forms. Some had human bodies and snake tails, some had beasts with human faces, and some had enormous wings. When they first appeared, they all looked a little dazed, as if lost in this unfamiliar place.
Yu Kai watched from afar, not rushing forward. He hid in the shadows, observing this bizarre scene.
Soon, more and more shadows gathered around the city gate, densely packed together, gathering like a dark cloud. But the city gate remained firmly shut, showing no sign of opening. Slowly, these earliest shadows began to become more agile, no longer so dull.
Giant beasts roared to the heavens, their voices shaking the heavens as they attempted to devour the surrounding figures. However, their attacks were illusory, passing straight through the figures' bodies. At first, the people were somewhat panicked, but after realizing that these attacks had no effect on them, they gradually became more reassured.
Noisy voices began to appear in the crowd, and someone shouted loudly: "What is going on? What the hell is this place? Why are we here?" The voice was full of fear and confusion.
The roars and shouts intertwined, deafening the ears. The entire scene was grand and shocking. However, despite the excitement, no one dared to rush the city wall. It seemed as if there was an invisible force on the city wall, giving people a particularly strong sense of oppression.
At that moment, the heavy city gates creaked and slowly opened to the sides, revealing countless powerful armies that emerged like a tide. Clad in black armor gleaming with a cold glow, they wielded sharp spears, exuding a chilling murderous intent. Their formations were perfectly aligned, their footsteps resounding, each a hammer-like strike against the earth as they charged forth with unwavering momentum.
The people and animals blocking the entrance were overwhelmed by this momentum and retreated in terror. They quickly made way for a wide path like a tide, bumping into and trampling over each other in a panic, creating a chaotic scene.
These troops quickly stood on both sides of the city gate. Some stood respectfully, their postures as straight as pine trees; others took up attack formations, pointing their spears at the crowd, the tips of their spears flashing coldly in the firelight.
A deafening barking of dogs emanated from within, a sound that seemed to rip the soul apart. A terrifying pressure swept over like a storm. A mighty and imposing general slowly approached, riding a giant, three-headed dog. The three heads were terrifyingly ferocious, their fangs interlocking, razor-sharp, and gleaming with a chilling cold light. Each head's eyes glared wildly, and from its mouth emanated a scorching breath that seemed to incinerate everything. The general, with a human body and a bull's head, gazed at the crowd before him like lightning, emanating a powerful aura.
