I never imagined Yun Qi was so silly when he was little. He only had one steamed bun, but he would share it with a bird.
Li Muge flew into the room through the window, landed in young Yun Qi's palm, and took a bite of the cornbread crumbs. The taste was really not good.
She felt a lump in her throat, but looking at Xiao Yunqi, who was already skin and bones, she swallowed it down.
"Little bird, I envy you so much. You have wings and can fly out. What is the outside world like? Isn't it fun?"
Young Yun Qi was hardly cute; his cheekbones were sunken because he hadn't had enough to eat for years.
If it weren't for the skin, Li Muge would have thought it was just a skeleton. But that doesn't make sense; Yun Qi's mother was, after all, a demon dragon.
Even if they were demons, if they had magical powers, they wouldn't be in such a miserable state in the human world.
From the time Xiao Yunqi could remember, he had been locked up in this place and had never been out.
The only person I've ever met is my mother.
Although his mother often beat him, young Yunqi knew that his mother didn't mean it; she was just sick.
If being beaten could cure his mother's illness, young Yunqi felt he could endure it.
After Li Muge finished eating the crumbs of cornbread from Xiao Yunqi's palm, she suddenly became worried. This kid was so hungry, would he die?
"Little bird, why aren't you eating?" Young Yun Qi's eyes were full of worry: "You need to eat more so you won't be hungry."
Li Muge's eyes welled up with tears. This child was really something; even though he got soaked in the rain, he always wanted to hold an umbrella for others.
No, she had to find a way to help Yun Qi.
Thinking this, Li Muge flapped her wings and flew away.
“Little…” Yun Qi was reluctant to part with the bird, which was his first friend, but the environment here was so bad and there was no good food.
The little bird certainly wouldn't want to stay here.
Yun Qi finished the remaining cornbread, but he was still very hungry. He closed his eyes and forced himself to sleep. He was used to it; he wouldn't be hungry when he was asleep.
But I was too hungry to sleep.
Xiao Yunqi's stomach was growling with hunger.
Just then, he suddenly smelled a wonderfully fragrant aroma in the room, and Xiao Yunqi swallowed hard.
It must have been a dream.
Xiao Yunqi tried her best not to open her eyes, because as long as she didn't open them, the fragrant scent wouldn't disappear.
Li Muge transformed into human form, but wore a mask carved from gold on his face.
She went outside and bought a roast chicken, wrapped it in oil paper, and waited for Xiao Yunqi to wake up, but almost half an hour had passed and Xiao Yunqi still hadn't woken up.
Li Muge's heart skipped a beat.
Little Yunqi won't starve to death, will he? But that makes sense, as a child, Yunqi was as skinny as a monkey, no, even scarier than a skinny monkey.
His hair was messy, and his face was covered in black grime. Upon closer inspection, Li Muge could vaguely see lice crawling on his head.
It's hard to imagine that this guy will grow up to be such a germaphobe.
Li Muge wanted to check Xiao Yunqi's breathing.
Just as his index finger touched the base of young Yun Qi's nose,
Unexpectedly, at that moment, Xiao Yunqi opened his eyes, which was quite awkward.
Even someone as thick-skinned as Li Muge felt a little embarrassed for a moment, and she awkwardly withdrew her hand.
"Yun Qi, don't misunderstand, I just wanted to see if you were awake."
Xiao Yunqi looked at the woman in red who came in with wary eyes.
"Who are you? How did you get in? Why do you know my name?"
Li Muge tore off a chicken leg and placed it in Yun Qi's hand: "I'm actually the one who lives here. I heard your mother always hitting the kids."
"It's too noisy, so I sneaked here. Why don't you eat something? You'll starve to death and then you'll be seeing the King of Hell."
Although Yun Qi was her mortal enemy and had sealed her away in her past life, she was not one of those people who would take advantage of others in distress.
Xiao Yunqi's face was unreadable: "Sister, you're lying. You're clearly that bird."
Li Muge: "..."
She bit her lip, conflicted: "I didn't realize you, little brat, could sense my identity."
Yun Qi couldn't be sure either, but he could remember the aura of all things, and no matter how the person disguised themselves, he could quickly identify them.
"Thank you, Sister Bird." Xiao Yunqi timidly took the chicken leg, took a bite, his mouth bulging. He had never eaten anything so delicious before.
"You're welcome."
When Li Muge saw the chains on his legs, she suddenly felt a pang of sadness.
"How about this, Yunqi, how about I take you outside to play?"
"Let's play outside." Young Yun Qi's eyes flashed with longing, but the light quickly died down: "No, Mother will be angry if she doesn't see me when she comes back."
"Oh, it's alright, little Yunqi. Your sister knows magic. I'll just play for a little while and then send you back. Your mother won't find out."
Li Muge closed her eyes, put two fingers together, and used her spiritual power to unlock the shackles on the legs of young Yun Qi.
They're still just kids.
Xiao Yunqi moved her legs, and tears welled up in her eyes: "Little Bird Sister, thank you."
"It's nothing." Li Muge wanted to pat his head, but hesitated because of the lice on his head, and awkwardly withdrew her hand.
Li Muge's feelings for Xiao Yunqi weren't entirely out of kindness. She thought that if Yunqi turned evil later on, it would be because of his tragic childhood.
She can implement a change plan for Yunqi, as long as young Yunqi is educated to be a good person during his childhood.
So when he grows up, he won't go to the demon realm and oppose her.
They would never want to destroy the Three Realms, and if they don't want to destroy the Three Realms, they naturally wouldn't think of using him in every way.
