Chapter 102

There are millions of people in the world, and therefore millions of different personalities.

The differences in personality are mostly related to each person's life experiences. From a probability perspective, children living in happy families are more 'kind' because they grow up in a loving environment, understand what 'love' is, and know how to express 'love'.

Correspondingly, there will also be children whose personalities are not so 'wonderful'.

Take Ren Wei from their dorm, for example. He's greedy, stingy, and petty. These are some of his less desirable traits. While they're not exactly repulsive, they don't make him very popular either.

However, for Qin You, Ren Wei was at most his college roommate. There was no need to pursue a close relationship. As long as they could nod to each other when they met, that would be enough. This was his social relationship most of the time.

In summary, when you choose not to care so much, the other person's attitude towards you becomes irrelevant.

"Qin You, wanna play games?" Fang Zhe poked his head out from the other side. "Let's play with Fu Tianlei, a three-man squad!"

"I'm going to take a shower, you guys can go first." With that, Qin You opened his wardrobe, pulled out a very familiar oversized T-shirt, and a pair of athletic shorts suitable for sleeping.

"Okay, then hurry up!"

As soon as Fang Zhe finished speaking, another person in the dormitory chimed in, "How can a man say 'fast'?" This joke made everyone in the dormitory laugh.

Qin You, the person involved, simply shook his head and smiled. It's normal for boys' dormitories to have a few dirty jokes; it has nothing to do with academic education and is just human nature.

He grabbed his clothes, turned around, and went into the bathroom.

About fifteen minutes later, Qin You came out with his hair completely wet.

"Qin You, look this way—"

Qin You turned his gaze and saw Zhao Kuanyi, his roommate, holding up his phone and pointing it at him. He heard a 'click' sound. "My sister doesn't believe I'm in the same dorm as the most handsome guy in our class. I have to show her what the most handsome guy in our class is like."

Qin You laughed, covering his head with a towel. "You have a younger sister?"

"She's three years younger than me and just started high school. Let me show you a picture of my sister. She's a little slow-witted, but she's quite cute." Zhao Kuanyi is the kind of brother who has a sharp tongue but is actually a doting brother.

"Take a look." Qin You leaned over; the phone showed a group photo of Zhao Kuanyi and a girl with pigtails. Just as Zhao Kuanyi had said, she was a pretty cute girl. "Yeah, she is indeed quite cute."

"Hehe, right?"

While the two were looking at the group photo, Zhao Kuanyi's sister replied to his WeChat message with three exclamation marks. This meant that Qin You's face had received extremely positive reviews, which made Zhao Kuanyi extremely happy, and he couldn't stop smiling.

"Really?" Xiao Junwen, another roommate and Zhao Kuanyi's classmate, came over to join in the fun.

Zhao Kuanyi opened his sister's chat window. "If I told her you just praised her for being cute, she'd be ecstatic." The "you" he was referring to was Qin You.

"No, what does your sister look like? I haven't even seen her yet." Xiao Junwen felt like he had already declared the game over before he even started.

"Go away, I'm busy!" Zhao Kuanyi's patience had clearly run out. Then he saw that his sister had replied, and he quickly said to the others, "Hey, my sister said she's coming to school to see me this Saturday."

Fang Zhe, who had just finished a game, poked his head out and asked, "Should I look for you, or for the level 14 hunk?"

"Hey, hey, that really hurts, friend!"

"Hehehe—Ouch—" Fang Zhe twisted his head, but before he could even mock his opponent, he got his comeuppance—his shoulder was twisted!

"Holy crap! Help me!"

"Serves him right!" Zhao Kuanyi didn't notice the incident and was still fixated on criticizing the other party.

"No, I really twisted my ankle! Help me!"

Qin You sensed the panic in Fang Zhe's words, which wasn't a joke, and quickly went over. He saw that Fang Zhe's face was contorted in pain. "Did you twist your arm?"

"It seems so, damn it, it hurts so much—" Fang Zhe didn't dare to move at all, lying on his side on the bed in an extremely awkward position, sweat pouring down his face.

"Wow, really? You're not kidding us, are you?" Zhao Kuanyi still didn't believe it, thinking Fang Zhe was still joking.

Qin You climbed the ladder in a few steps, holding onto the bed rail with one hand. His eyes were fixed on Fang Zhe's injured arm; it was indeed dislocated. Without a word, he climbed onto Fang Zhe's bed, grabbing both of his hands, saying, "Just bear with it—"

"No, Dad, what are you doing? Don't do anything reckless—ah—"

Qin You pulled his shoulder joint out like pulling up a radish, and then smoothly put it back in place. The whole process was so smooth that it seemed to happen in an instant.

Fang Zhe stopped crying out in pain and just looked at Qin You with a puzzled expression, twisting his shoulders. "It seems... we've gone back?"

"...666!" Zhao Kuanyi was dumbfounded, not knowing what had happened. He only saw Qin You save Fang Zhe's arm in a few moments. It was truly over before it even started.

"They've practiced, they definitely have!" Chen Haoran, who had been watching, didn't say anything more and just clapped.

Qin You jumped off the bed and, taking advantage of his height, easily patted the railing next to Fang Zhe's bed. "Congratulations, you can rest for a while now. You need to wear a splint and rest after a dislocation. Now, be careful when you get down. I'll take you to the hospital."

"...Huh?" Fang Zhe was a little confused. First, his arm was inexplicably dislocated, and now he had to go to the hospital late at night?

"Come down," Qin You continued.

"Do we really need to go to the hospital?" Fang Zhe tried to twist his shoulder, and it seemed to be fine; it didn't hurt as much as before.

Qin You sighed, "Do you want to develop habitual dislocations? That's much more troublesome than going to the hospital. You'll need a splint after a dislocation, and you're still young."

"Then I... I'll come down right away." Fang Zhe panicked when he heard this. It's a bit of a hassle, but it's better than having a habitual dislocation.

Because Fang Zhe had injured his arm, he was very restrained in using his strength. Fortunately, he wasn't very tall, so Qin You could easily lift him down from the ladder like a chick.

Qin You grabbed a jacket casually and then used one hand to support Fang Zhe's uninjured hand. "I'll take him to the hospital first."

"Oh, okay." The remaining few people either came to their senses or were still sleepwalking. Mainly, things happened too fast, and they didn't realize what had happened. The injured ones had to go to the hospital.

It all started with a single complaint.

Zhao Kuanyi sighed, "—Terrible!"

...

The two stopped at the dormitory supervisor's office after going downstairs. Qin You explained the situation to the supervisor and then, under the supervisor's watchful eye, made a phone call to their homeroom teacher, insisting that the teacher's permission was required to leave the door open for them.

A little while later, the homeroom teacher, Ms. Qin, quickly arrived in front of the dormitory building. She was only wearing a pair of slippers and was panting, clearly having rushed over in a hurry.

"Really, it's dislocated?" Teacher Qin looked at Fang Zhe, then at his arm. It didn't seem like anything was wrong, so why did he have to go to the hospital?

"He needs a splint," Qin You said.

"...Splint," Teacher Qin finally caught her breath, put her hands on her hips and took a deep breath, "Okay, I'll go get the car, we'll go to the hospital."

Sure, it would be even better if there was a private car to pick you up.

Soon, Teacher Qin drove his little Jetta with two students away from the school and headed to the nearest hospital.

About fifteen minutes later, the three arrived at a place called Jinyang Hospital.

"His shoulder was dislocated, but it has been reduced. He needs a splint to recover," Qin You told the nurse who came to see him.

Qin You's overly youthful appearance only earned him a puzzled look from the nurse. In the end, the nurse chose to trust her judgment and found that... he was right.

"Call Dr. Zhou over, there's a patient with a dislocated shoulder," the nurse immediately announced.

Two minutes later, a short, chubby doctor ran over. From the moment he appeared until he got closer, what impressed people most was his belly.

"Where? Where is the dislocated joint?" The tone was as if a dog had smelled a bone.

The nurse said "Here," and the doctor surnamed Zhou, clutching his stomach, jogged over.

After a thorough examination, he discovered that the person had already... been reset.

"What's wrong?" Teacher Qin immediately became a little nervous.

“Little friend,” Dr. Zhou looked at Fang Zhe with great kindness, though it was only what he thought was kindness, “You must never try to put a dislocated joint back into place yourself, that can be very dangerous.”

Qin You took the initiative to speak, "I was the one who reset it. My family studies traditional Chinese medicine. Is there anything wrong with his shoulder?"

Looking at the handsome and tall young man before him, Dr. Zhou seemed to see those top students in school who consistently dominated the front row based on their upbringing. A sense of powerlessness welled up inside him, and he said with a sigh, "There's nothing wrong. You need a splint, right? I'll do it..."

The simple "No problem" put everyone at ease, especially the injured Fang Zhe, who truly felt that having such a friend was just too good to be true!

...

After the three of them finished messing with Fang Zhe's arm, it was almost nine o'clock. On the way back, Teacher Qin told Fang Zhe that he didn't need to go to military training starting tomorrow, and that he would talk to the instructor about it.

"Oh, really? I don't have to go to military training..."

Unfortunately, his joy was short-lived; his initial spark of hope was immediately extinguished by Teacher Qin, completely crushed.

"Don't get your hopes up too high. Even if you didn't participate this year, you'll have to train with the freshmen next year."

"...Ah, no, I've already been in military training for so many days, do I have to start all over again next year?" Fang Zhe was anxious, he was really anxious. How could this be? He'd almost finished half of it! This can't be fair!

"Blame it on yourself for dislocating your shoulder. Just accept next year's offer and I'll give you the form tomorrow." Teacher Qin was extremely cold and ruthless.

"Ahhh..." I'm going crazy, I'm going crazy, I'm going crazy!

Seeing Fang Zhe's frantic expression, Qin You could only offer him moral support: "I'll come visit you on the playground next year."

And so, the news that Fang Zhe would be doing military training with the new freshmen next year spread throughout the entire class. After hearing the whole story, all they could say was: This guy is really unlucky!

Fu Tianlei also heard about this and immediately decided not to ask for leave. He took two cold medicines prescribed by the infirmary and fell into a deep sleep.

He wanted to finish the military training first before going to the hospital for a check-up. Anyway, there was only a week left, so he figured he could just grit his teeth and get through it.

He didn't want to end up like that unlucky guy Fang Zhe, having to do military training with the next batch of students next year—that would be so embarrassing.

So, I can't stay up late anymore, time to go to sleep.
