Chapter 21

"You have a cousin?" The speaker was Shi Heng, whom he had met before. However, he had only seen Xu Qian in his Wan Hua alias. In his eyes, Xu Qian in his Cang Jian alias was a complete stranger.

"Uh, yeah, it doesn't really look like it, does it? Everyone says my cousin and I don't look alike." Meng Liangchen chuckled dryly.

“Indeed…” Shi Heng thought to himself, “This isn’t just a little different, it’s completely different.”

“The girls in our class are definitely going to go crazy in class tomorrow…” said another roommate, Jiao Xiangming.

"Sigh, be prepared, they're going to drive you crazy." Shi Heng patted Qin You on the shoulder with a sigh.

'Qin You': "..." Is it really that scary...?

As it turned out, although it wasn't quite that exaggerated, Qin You, as a transfer student, did receive a lot of attention, not only among the students but also from the homeroom teacher. The reason wasn't his face, but his handwriting—two characters were written powerfully on the blackboard: Qin You.

"Your handwriting is quite good." Teacher He, who is both the homeroom teacher and the Chinese language teacher, had a good impression of the new transfer student because of this handwriting.

Teacher He briefly introduced Qin You's identity, arranged a seat for him in the last row, and asked the class representative to continue leading the morning reading before leaving the classroom in her high heels. As soon as the homeroom teacher left, the classroom immediately became noisy.

"New student, you've been practicing calligraphy since elementary school, right? Have you been practicing for many years?"

"Hey classmate, where did you study before?"

"Hey, I heard you're related to the class representative?"

As a former shut-in, Xu Qian was not used to being surrounded by girls. Later, Meng Liangchen couldn't stand it anymore and slapped the table, telling them to be a little more reserved. It was clear that Meng Liangchen had a say in the class. As soon as she spoke, the class quieted down a lot. Just then, the class bell rang.

The first and second periods in the morning were math classes. The teacher was a young man who wore glasses and had a very refined appearance. As soon as he entered the classroom, he handed out a set of test papers to everyone. While everyone was passing the papers around, he suddenly asked the new student, "I heard that you have a new student in your class, right?"

Xu Qian suddenly became alert and looked up to see that everyone's eyes were on his face, including Meng Liangchen's.

"Hey, not bad, our senior year's heartthrob has a chance!" The math teacher clearly had a good relationship with the students, and everyone laughed heartily as soon as he spoke, agreeing with him.

Everyone laughed. What could Xu Qian do but laugh awkwardly to show his gratitude for the audience's appreciation?

Soon, the test papers were handed out. Xu Qian looked at the familiar yet unfamiliar math exam paper and couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness. He was already in college, so why did he still have to suffer the hardships of senior year? Why!

However, Xu Qian only thought about it in his mind. It was unlikely that he would hand in a blank paper. How could he do something so high-profile? Besides, he was someone who had been admitted to a 985 university. He knew the tricks of the college entrance examination very well. He just needed to do a lot of practice questions. He had devoured two '53' practice books last week!

And so, on a math test out of 150 points, Xu Qian calculated a score of 120, keeping pace with the rest of the group.

An hour later, the math teacher called a halt, not to collect the papers, but to have the students sitting in front of and behind each other exchange papers to grade them.

"I'll correct your paper."

The girl sitting in front of Xu Qian, who was exchanging papers with him, had a ponytail and a cool smile. Xu Qian glanced at the paper she handed him; her name was Ji Ranran. The girl's paper was mostly blank, and she hadn't written any of the major questions. Seeing this, he immediately had a bad feeling.

The math teacher printed the answers to all but the last two challenging questions on a PowerPoint presentation and asked everyone to grade their work. Xu Qian's paper was finished in no time. The student in front of him had gotten 6 out of 12 multiple-choice questions right, none of the 4 fill-in-the-blank questions right, and all the problem-solving questions were blank. His paper was very easy to grade—30 points.

"Holy crap, you got all the fill-in-the-blank questions right!" The student in front of me suddenly turned around with a look that said, "Are you an alien?"

"Huh? Who got them all right?"

"That new guy!"

The math teacher overheard this and walked off the stage with a smile. He took the test paper from Ji Ranran's hand and saw that it was covered in red checkmarks. As long as 'Qin You' wrote something, it was correct. He was very satisfied and said, "This test paper was issued by Daizhou City. It's quite difficult. Getting 120 points proves that your foundation is very solid. Getting 130 points in the college entrance examination is no problem at all!"

"..." After listening to the very complicated story, Xu Qian saw Meng Liangchen sitting in the front row turn around and give him a thumbs up - Thumbs up for you! So, his feelings became even more complicated.

After quickly grading the test papers, the math teacher asked the students who scored above 100 to raise their hands. There were 12 students in total, but only 4 scored 120 or above.

Xu Qian, one of the four: "..."

After two classes, the class monitor asked everyone to go downstairs for a run. As senior high school students, how can we not be in good health!

Amidst the groans and whining of some people, Xu Qian was pulled downstairs by Meng Liangchen, even though Meng Liangchen himself was also groaning and whining.

"Brother You, you're amazing! You memorized it all so quickly? You're a genius!" Meng Liangchen thought to himself, "It's only been a week, and he's already scored 130 on the math test. What else could he be but a genius! He's probably a chosen one!"

"It's... pretty simple." Xu Qian thought to himself that he didn't know 120 points was enough to get into the top five. Back in high school, 120 was at best just average. Who would have thought it would turn out like this...

The two talked as they ran. By now, the entire senior class had come down to the track—about eighty people in total. Xu Qian remained calm about the stares directed at him; it wouldn't hurt him anyway, and looking wouldn't do anything. Taking this opportunity, he also observed the school. He was surrounded by a group of green and yellow names; those with positive favorability scores were green, while those with zero or negative scores were yellow. (Don't ask him why there were negative scores! It's jealousy! Jealousy!)

After running two laps, Meng Liangchen was already panting. Xu Qian frowned and said to him, "You need to take better care of your health."

Meng Liangchen was helpless. He didn't want to be a weakling either. "I want to be, but I've been like this since I was a child, especially in the spring. When I go to the hospital for a checkup, everything comes back normal."

Xu Qian looked at the status bar above his head and saw nothing unusual, so he didn't say anything.

A girl from the class suddenly ran over and asked, "Hey, class monitor, weren't you on TV before?"

"Huh? What TV show?" Meng Liangchen didn't quite understand.

"Pshaw, it's not TV, it's an interview!"

Meng Liangchen remembered, "I think so, what's wrong?"

"No, just asking, hehe~"

After the girl left, Meng Liangchen asked Xu Qian beside him with a puzzled look, "What's going on?"

Xu Qian shrugged, indicating that he didn't know and that it had nothing to do with him anyway.

After running three laps, everyone's feet were warm. There was still a 15-minute break before class. None of the four people in Meng Liangchen's dormitory had eaten breakfast, so they decided to go to the cafeteria to get some.

At this moment, Meng Liangchen suddenly said he needed to go to the infirmary. He had just sneezed three times in a row, which was definitely a sign of catching a cold.

"You've caught a cold again? Let me take you to the infirmary." It was Shi Heng who spoke.

Seeing this, Xu Qian said, "Then you two go to the infirmary, and we'll go to the cafeteria."

"Okay." Meng Liangchen nodded.

Fifteen minutes later, the class bell rang, and Meng Liangchen and Shi Heng hurried back to the classroom.

Xu Qian glanced at him casually while sipping his milk, almost choking on it.

—Holy crap, it's only been a dozen minutes, what the hell is this debuff on you!
