Extra: Worldview Setting Written Last Year (Preparing for the Main Story)

Initially, because the primary target was Bila, magic was employed to create optical camouflage uniforms and R1 light individual armor. These were combined with rune weapons and some relatively primitive firearms. At that time, Dongdu lacked a standing army, so these forces were recruited from the civilian population, known as "hunting teams," ranging in size from a dozen to several thousand. At the time, the people simply sought to combat Bila. With a scarcity of magicians, weapons were often scarce, forcing them to resort to melee combat. Bila's innate divine talent meant that every encounter would result in a massacre. Three prominent hunting teams were known: the Blood Wolf Team, the Silver Cavalry Battalion, and the Purple Gold Army. Their organizational structure shifted repeatedly.

Next, let’s take a detailed look at the hunting team’s weapons and equipment.

First up was the R1 Light Individual Armor, which remained in use until the Magic Age. This armor sacrificed significant protection, filling its entire interior with strengthening runes in exchange for the wearer's physical fitness and magical power. Later designs incorporated night vision goggles, armor, communications equipment, handheld computers, backpacks, and chargers, making it a legacy piece of equipment that remained in service for decades. Firstly, its material changed twice, first from pure iron to steel doped with magical materials. This was due to the war between the nation and Sergeida to the south, resulting in insufficient conscription. After participating in the war at the expense of national support, the hunting teams performed well in the war against Sergeida, earning them the Emperor's grant of several important resources.

The second time was when technological advancements led to the replacement of composite armor. This decision removed expensive magical materials from the suit, while also introducing a mechanical exoskeleton and a magical engine. Certain parts increased flexibility, and stretchable synthetic fibers made it invincible in close combat, leading to a dramatic drop in price. However, these items were incredibly technically demanding, making them difficult to manufacture without a qualified factory and skilled magicians.

Then there's the famous optical camouflage uniform, typically issued individually to each soldier. Magically assisted, it maintains a terrifying level of stealth. Without a high-level magician, ordinary humans are completely undetectable. Under Bila's training, the hunting team's soldiers are among the finest hunters on the continent. While it's called optical camouflage, it's much more than that. It can also mask sound, scent, and even three-dimensional effects.

After the hunting party, several human wars convinced the emperor that a standing army was essential for victory in the next struggle for supremacy. This army, named the "Black Armor Army," was drawn from refugees and civilians. For unknown reasons, no nobles were admitted. Later, after the revolution, the emperor's silence was considered tacit approval. After all, by that time, the aristocracy had weakened and no longer held a monopoly on the ruling class. The Black Armor Army's subsequent achievements made it a symbol of the dark terror that represented the military might of the Eastern Capital.

Unlike hunting teams, which relied primarily on personal charisma, the Black Armor Army maintained strict organizational discipline. Its hierarchy, from army commander to division commander, battalion commander, company commander, captain, and group leader, combined with the separation of melee and ranged units, led to the emergence of specialized and independent arms. Generally speaking, there was only one Central Corps, with five army commanders commanding 250,000 troops.

I won't list their countless outfit changes here, but they've used every piece of equipment invented by Dongdu to varying degrees. As the backbone of this nation, their iconic black armor has undergone countless iterations. It's a highly versatile individual armor.

As mentioned before, Dongdu has a large population, so there will be people with ulterior motives. The guard team formed to maintain the peace of the big city can also be regarded as a military force, because they have captured countless great men.

Great Wall

Next, we come to Dongdu’s most famous architectural wonder, a super project built with all the power of this country in ancient times.

Humans built it because of the attacks of the famous Bira "Danseling" (note that this is a name). Danseling is based on mobility and group combat (Bira are not biological creatures, Danseling is one of them. It is one, but also countless. As Bira, in addition to its outstanding divine talent, each individual has its own unique characteristics. Danseling can emit laser-like magic beams and can split into countless smaller versions of itself. The 800-meter-tall main body and the 42-meter-tall clones are both terrifying threats.)

The solution humans came up with was a flying floating fortress - the Great Wall.

The Great Wall can be seen as a deadly weapon against top-level Bila, made up of countless single fortresses. Each single fortress is reinforced by divine magicians. The principle of its extremely terrifying divine attack method is still unknown. It is an extremely famous composite divine magic array. With the support of divine magic, the Great Wall can compete with most Bila. This is also the reason why Dongdu can survive the attack of Bila. Later it was confirmed that the guardians of the Great Wall no longer knew what kind of fortress they were using, and only used the most basic part. The Great Wall clearly had the strength of the top Bila in the legend, but was later destroyed in the hands of a human, which is even regrettable.

Thousands of years ago, while the Eastern Capital civilization had achieved unprecedented unification, the term "emperor" emerged during that era and remained in use for a long time. By then, the internal strife within the Eastern Capital civilization had ended, and the people had not yet lost their divine power. The fragmented Bila was gradually defeated by the vast empire. Although internal troubles had subsided, external threats emerged.

The Huhao tribe, a tribe favored by the gods, was once a threat. Although now a part of Dongdu culture, they were once a threat. They embraced nature and lived by hunting, much like the early origins of Dongdu culture. They followed the law of the jungle: the strong prevailed, the weak were enslaved.
