"A very nice inn," Mo Xi said with a smile.
"Thank you for the compliment. Let me take you to your room first. Dinner will be a while later."
“Okay.” Mo Xi nodded with a smile.
She didn't bring a suitcase, just a backpack, and came dressed in sportswear.
"Hello, my name is Mo Xi."
Mo Xi nodded slightly to the two women and Wang Bing, her smile as warm as a spring breeze.
"Ye Wu, how have you been these past few years?"
"Not very good."
Ye Wu said coldly.
Mo Xi put on a wry smile and said, "You're still angry with me."
"what you think?"
Chen Yang interrupted their conversation, "I think you can go help Brother Wang cook now. Mo Xi, let me take you to put your luggage away first. Su'er, don't waste this outfit of yours, get ready to show off your tea ceremony skills."
Chen Yang took Mo Xi to "Remnant Summer," leaving the others looking at each other in bewilderment.
"Are you under a lot of pressure?" Ye Wu asked Li Su'er.
Li Su'er nodded: "Who is this woman? She doesn't seem like an ordinary person. I can't figure out what she's saying."
Ye Wu seemed to remember something and smiled somewhat stiffly: "She had a nickname at school, called 'Yu Linglong.' Back then, Yu Linglong was popular with everyone in the school, young and old."
"What do you mean? Men, women, young and old?"
"You understand correctly. Back then, there were quite a few teachers who pursued her, as well as quite a few girls, not to mention the boys."
Li Su'er was stunned for a moment, then said, "Is it really that amazing?"
"Yes, there is." Ye Wu nodded with certainty.
"Wouldn't it be even more awesome if I snatched Chen Yang away from her?"
Ye Wu never expected Li Su'er to think this way, so much so that he didn't know how to respond.
"Yining, boil some water. We can't lose our momentum."
"Okay, Su'er, keep it up!"
"come on!"
Ye Wu stared in disbelief at the two women, who were full of fighting spirit.
"Women are terrifying."
…………
Mo Xi placed her bag on the chair, glanced around briefly, and said, "It's a very interesting room, it's like your style."
"It's really good that it meets your standards."
Chen Yang smiled and handed the room key to Mo Xi.
A silence suddenly filled the room. Mo Xi sat on the sofa chair by the window and gestured an invitation to Chen Yang.
"I won't sit here anymore. If you're not tired, you can tidy up and come down for tea."
After saying that, Chen Yang turned to leave.
Are you angry?
A soft voice made Chen Yang stop in his tracks.
He rarely heard this tone before, but every time it appeared, it made him uneasy. The last time he heard this tone was when he last saw Mo Xi.
"When you left, you were a little... but not anymore."
After saying that, Chen Yang left.
Mo Xi sat blankly in the room, then pouted, revealing a wronged expression that could shock countless people in the school back then.
"Why didn't he even turn his head? That's right, that's just like him."
After answering her own question, she smiled again and rolled around on the bed.
"Late Summer? What a lovely name."
Mo Xi came out of the room quickly. She was still wearing the same clothes, without makeup, and her face did not show any signs of fatigue from the long journey.
"Have some tea first, the food will be ready soon."
Wang Bing gave a greeting, while Ye Wu assisted him in the kitchen.
"Su'er's tea ceremony is excellent. Please sit down and have a couple of cups."
Chen Yang said.
Mo Xi sat to Chen Yang's left, Jiang Yining sat to his right, and Li Su'er sat in the main seat, opposite Chen Yang, because she was making tea.
Chen Yang suddenly realized that he was courting death, completely surrounded by these women, and in the eye of the storm.
"Ye Wu, would you like to come over for a cup of tea?" he called out immediately.
"Sorry, I'm busy, I don't have time."
Ye Wu replied without hesitation as he peeled potatoes.
"Do you think I'm stupid? Going there to die at this time?" he muttered.
Mo Xi chuckled and said, "Don't use Ye Wu as a shield. What's there to be nervous about?"
Chen Yang gave an awkward smile, knowing that he couldn't hide his little scheme from Mo Xi.
Chen Yang was ashamed of his own intelligence, and he admired her for her ability to maintain a calm attitude towards everyone.
Li Su'er brewed the tea with great care, every movement and detail was perfect, and the water temperature and steeping time were just right. She hadn't paid this much attention even when she was taking her tea ceremony certification exams.
"Very good, the tea ceremony is excellent, and the tea is excellent too," Mo Xi praised sincerely.
"Thank you for the compliment," Li Su'er said softly.
Hearing Li Su'er's gentle voice, Chen Yang trembled and forced himself not to complain.
Li Su'er, who was sitting opposite Chen Yang, could tell that Chen Yang was obviously trying to suppress a laugh, and kicked him in embarrassment and annoyance.
"Chen Yang, Guo Zifeng called and said he's coming over for dinner," Wang Bing said from the kitchen.
"Okay, but let him die of the idea of staying two more nights. He can't even sleep on the sofa. Let him go back after he finishes eating."
Guo Zifeng now takes every opportunity to freeload meals and keeps trying to persuade Chen Yang to change the rule that he can only stay for a maximum of two nights within ten days.
"What, are you trying to ditch me for rent?"
“No.” Chen Yang shook his head. “Our inn has a rule: guests can stay a maximum of two nights within ten days. He wants to stay a few more nights.”
Mo Xi's eyes widened. "Is your inn really that popular? It doesn't look like it."
"This is for the future. There won't be enough room later," Chen Yang said matter-of-factly.
Mo Xi was about to ask something, but then she closed her mouth again.
Although the rule was strange, she knew that Chen Yang rarely did anything risky, so he must have his reasons for doing so.
"You're still the same as before."
"Is it the same? I think it has changed quite a bit."
They both laughed after they finished speaking.
Li Su'er took in the expressions of the two of them, and for some reason, she suddenly felt like crying.
Jiang Yining gently tapped her toes with her foot to bring her back to her senses.
"I'll go help Brother Wang cook, Yining, you make them some tea."
Li Su'er hurriedly left the tea table, looking somewhat disheveled.
She had worked so hard to prepare for so long, but it was all for naught compared to someone else's smile. This made her feel very depressed, as if a huge stone was pressing on her chest, making it hard to breathe.
Mo Xi looked at Chen Yang with a half-smile and said, "You're quite popular."
Chen Yang coughed lightly, but didn't say anything to me.
Jiang Yining watched silently, unlike Li Su'er who was blinded by her own involvement. Chen Yang and Mo Xi did indeed seem to have a telepathic connection; they only needed a glance or a smile to understand each other's thoughts, but she still felt something was off.
She wondered what was strange. Both of them seemed so natural.
Suddenly, her eyes lit up.
That's just too strange; it shouldn't be natural.
Chen Yang and Mo Xi used to be a couple and hadn't seen each other for many years, but they were still so natural when they met. This can only mean that one of them has already let go of the past.
Jiang Yining felt that Chen Yang had come to terms with things, which was why he could face Mo Xi calmly, without avoiding her or being stiff. Mo Xi, being a smart woman, must have understood Chen Yang's attitude as well.
Looking at Li Su'er, who was silently facing away from them in the kitchen, Jiang Yining smiled slightly.
It seems there is still a good chance.
