Chapter 3 Time Flow

After thoroughly inspecting the cabin inside and out and confirming that there was nothing unusual, Chen Yang began to observe the surrounding environment.

The cabin is situated on a small plain, surrounded by green fields. Behind it is a dense forest, and beyond that, a snow-capped mountain can be seen in the distance, its rugged, precipitous slopes covered in thick white snow.

About one or two kilometers in front of the cabin is a huge lake. Because the terrain is flat, you can see it from the front of the cabin. Further away are rolling mountains.

Both sides are flat land, mostly grassland, with other vegetation covering it. In Fenglin, I even saw a small clump of wild strawberries.

He had been to many places and seen countless beautiful sights, but he still had to admit that this place was truly stunning, a veritable paradise on earth.

Backed by snow-capped mountains and facing green hills and clear waters, surrounded by lush green fields, with a clear blue sky and clean, fresh air.

Chen Yang carried the puppy to the patch of wild strawberries, picked one, and put it in his mouth.

"Holy crap, this is... so delicious."

This is absolutely the best strawberry Chen Yang has ever eaten, bar none.

He eagerly squatted down, wanting to pick a few more. However, he forgot something very important.

"I***!"

Just as he squatted down, Little Chen had a close encounter with a lush, pointed weed, and the unpleasant sensation was indescribable.

The comfortable temperature around him made him forget that he was still naked.

He squeezed his legs together and slowly squatted down.

Chen Yang knew his current posture must look effeminate and gay, but he didn't care, since no one was around.

The little puppy was whimpering, as if it smelled the aroma of strawberries.

"Can you eat this?"

Chen Yang picked the smallest one, flattened it, and put it near the puppy's mouth.

The puppy opened its mouth and slowly chewed on the strawberry, looking like it was starving.

After feeding himself and the puppy, Chen Yang truly realized that this was not a dream.

The feeling of fullness felt so real, and so did everything around me.

"Could this be another world?"

Chen Yang couldn't help but guess that if so, this must be an alternative form of time travel.

"I remember there was another task to start a fire. There should be a reward for completing the task, right?"

Regardless of whether this was another world or not, Chen Yang felt that he should first complete the tasks on the Microworld app. Only in this way could he obtain rewards to improve himself.

After finishing its meal, the puppy collapsed into Chen Yang's arms and fell fast asleep, its mouth full of bright red strawberry juice.

"I haven't named you yet. To prove I'm not rigged in the lottery, you'll be called 'Emperor of Luck' from now on."

Chen Yang gave the sleeping puppy a name that he thought was incredibly powerful, and then put the puppy back into the wooden house with satisfaction.

"Next, start... a fire?"

The ambitious, naked boy suddenly fell into deep thought.

How to give birth?

A lighter? No!

A flint and steel? No!

Chemicals? No!

Chen Yang thought about it for a long time and realized that he only had one method.

We imitated the ancients who made fire by drilling wood!

How can we drill through?

He didn't believe that he could simply rub two pieces of dry wood together and a fire would suddenly appear.

Several years ago, he watched Bear Grylls' "Man vs. Wild" show, a show featuring a man who is said to be at the top of the food chain. He vaguely remembered that starting a fire required dry wood, a wood drill, tinder, and so on.

He didn't remember the specific steps, but in short, with his current skill level and experience, starting a fire by friction was unrealistic.

"Let's talk about it next time we come in. Let's wander around for now."

Chen Yang decided to postpone starting a fire and explore the area first.

He had no intention of venturing into the dense forest behind the cabin for the time being. If he encountered any birds of prey, he'd be dead. Right now, he was just a moving piece of meat, and a very tender one at that.

He decided to make himself a grass skirt first, just in case Little Chen got cold.

There was a lot of dry grass nearby, so Chen Yang collected it and found a vine of some unknown plant that was very resilient.

By haphazardly tying up the hay, an incredibly ugly grass skirt was completed.

Although it was ugly, Chen Yang couldn't care less at this point; as long as it could block Little Chen and the two peach-like halves behind him, that was enough.

It took him a long time to make this grass skirt. He didn't have a watch, but he estimated it took two or three hours.

A little bit of strawberries couldn't withstand such physical exertion, and his stomach was protesting again.

Chen Yang, who has eaten in reality, shouldn't be this hungry now. This also illustrates that the two worlds are not entirely interconnected.

He ate some more strawberries to fill his stomach, because he didn't recognize any of the surrounding plants and wasn't sure if they were edible.

"It's already past midnight in reality, damn it, I'm going to freeze."

Chen Yang suddenly remembered that he had fallen asleep on the sofa wearing only a long-sleeved shirt. It's already autumn, and the temperature can drop drastically in the middle of the night.

"Let the lucky one sleep for now. It's fine to keep it locked in the cabin. We'll come back for him later."

Chen Yang brought up the exit option and chose to leave the micro-world.

"Do you want to wake up your body? If you choose no, your body will remain asleep. If you choose yes, your body will wake up."

It's really smart; it can even maintain a sleep state.

However, he doesn't need this thoughtful service right now and has chosen to wake up his body instead.

That feeling of being detached from the world returned, and then Chen Yang opened his eyes on the sofa.

A strong sense of unreality washed over him, making him wonder if everything that had just happened was a dream.

Moreover, although he felt that the surrounding temperature had dropped, he was not particularly cold.

"Eee-ee".

A childish voice suddenly rang out.

Chen Yang was startled and noticed a familiar little figure in the corner of the sofa.

"A lucky winner?"

Chen Yang stared wide-eyed at the little puppy in the corner of the sofa.

"Ding! Congratulations on completing the task 'Introducing the First Citizen'. Please enter the Micro Realm to claim your reward."

A notification suddenly appeared on the phone screen.

Chen Yang carefully picked up the European Emperor and placed him in his arms, then opened the "Subordinate Citizens" selection box in the app.

Sure enough, the name "European Emperor" appeared among the subordinates. Chen Yang's newly chosen name was read by the micro-world.

Now he can be 100% certain that the micro-world definitely exists, it's not a dream, and the appearance of the lucky one proves this.

However, upon closer reflection, the Microverse has minimal impact on his life. It's mostly open at night and doesn't affect his sleep.

"Let's treat it like a game, like wilderness survival?"

Chen Yang thought to himself with some joy.

"There might be other benefits after the upgrade, and you are the first one."

Chen Yang said to the European Emperor.

He carried the lucky man to the inn's kitchen, heated up some milk, and the lucky man, smelling the milk, excitedly stuck out his tongue and licked it, while Chen Yang made himself a bowl of noodles.

"Let's eat and go back to sleep. We can go into the micro-world tomorrow. It's almost 3 a.m. by now."

The inn has a lot to do tomorrow, including onboarding new employees and preparing for the opening.

He picked up his phone and glanced at the time. Then he spat out the noodles he had just put in his mouth.

00:29

He clearly remembered that he entered at 21:07, which meant that less than three and a half hours had passed.

He turned on the wall clock in the lobby, and the time displayed on the clock matched the time on his phone, so his phone was working correctly.

He spent at least five or six hours in the micro-world, just looking at his surroundings took at least an hour, not to mention the time he spent making grass skirts, picking strawberries, and playing with the lucky guy.

Even without a watch, Chen Yang was certain that he had stayed there for more than three and a half hours.

"Could it be that the flow of time in the micro-world is different from that in the real world?"
