Chapter 147 Bragging

Chen Yang and the others walked to the stream and thought for a while, but still couldn't come up with a solution.

The terrain by the stream was too flat, with virtually no usable terrain. If all else failed, they would have no choice but to set traps and try their luck. If the traps didn't work, they would have to hunt.

Engaging in battle with a herd of cattle is not a good idea; being butted can be fatal. In the Tibetan region of southwest China, a lone wild yak is more dangerous than any other creature.

If the stream doesn't work, then we'll have to consider other places and lure the bison there.

Chen Yang looked around and found a group of weathered rocks to the east, which might be a usable terrain. So he said to Tang Jiaqi, "Tang Jiaqi, could you please go over there and see if there's any usable spot? Ding Qihan and I will set a trap here."

Tang Jiaqi nodded and ran eastward. They were pressed for time and couldn't afford to waste any more time.

Chen Yang and Ding Qihan found some trees and set lassos between the trunks. When the cattle passed by, they would be caught in the lassos and tripped.

However, the bison were too strong, and the ropes they brought were not very sturdy. Whether they could withstand the bison's struggles depended on luck.

Just as Chen Yang and his team set up three lassos, Tang Jiaqi ran back, carrying a bunch of grass in her hands.

"I've found a perfect spot! Quickly dismantle the trap, and we'll figure out a way to lure the cattle there," Tang Jiaqi said excitedly.

"Where?" Chen Yang asked.

"There is a crescent-shaped valley floor with a small pool of water and a grassy area. The entrance is very small, only about three meters wide."

Upon hearing this, Chen Yang's eyes lit up. The three-meter entrance was easy for them to block. Once they blocked the cattle inside, it would be much easier.

"It seems to be water accumulated from the heavy rain, and it's expected to rain again soon, so there's no need to worry about the cattle's water supply for the time being," Ding Qihan analyzed.

"Alright, theory expert, stop analyzing and let's go over there," Tang Jiaqi urged.

Tang Jiaqi brought a lot of grass, which she spread on the ground and blocked with stones to prevent it from being blown away by the wind. She spread a pile of grass every ten meters or so, covering more than a hundred meters.

At this moment, Chen Yang and Ding Qihan also returned from the valley floor carrying grass. After seeing the terrain of the valley floor, they also felt that the plan was very feasible. It was a valley floor surrounded by huge rocks and cliffs, with the surrounding rock walls being more than three meters high and very steep, making it impossible for the cattle to get out.

To be honest, it's truly beautiful there. A valley like this in the Gobi Desert is simply paradise. It makes you marvel at the wonders of nature.

It took them about an hour to spread the grass all the way to the entrance of the valley.

At this moment, the herd of cattle also came over.

"Never mind them, whether they fall for it or not is up to fate. Let's find some obstacles."

The obstacles needed to stop the bulls would have to be large and sturdy enough. The charge of a mad bison is terrifying.

Forget about pushing a big rock. This isn't a TV drama. You don't find rocks that are exactly the right size everywhere. Besides, a rock that big is impossible for a person to move.

Chen Yang planned to create obstacles by crossing pieces of wood, and then block them with larger stones.

This requires a bit of luck, before the entrance can be blocked. If the cattle sense a threat, it's virtually impossible for them to be stopped.

While Chen Yang and his group were searching for trees, the herd of cattle finally arrived at the stream.

A dozen or so cows were slowly drinking water by the stream, and some even went into the stream to bathe.

That's why in the wild, even if the water looks clean, you should still boil it a bit. Who knows if some animal was bathing or pooping upstream? Some bacteria are invisible to the naked eye.

A cow bathing in the middle of a stream spotted the grass on the other side. It slowly walked over and began to nibble on the grass at a leisurely pace.

The second cow came over and started munching on the ox together.

When the third cow came, the grass had been mostly eaten up, but there was still a pile not far away. It wagged its tail and walked over, and the first two cows followed it to graze.

More and more cattle were attracted, and they followed the route set by Chen Yang and his team. Given the intelligence of wild cattle, they wouldn't even consider where the grass came from. On the barren loess land, having grass to eat was happiness.

If having grass to eat is happiness, then a meadow and a pool of water would be paradise.

The bison soon discovered this paradise.

They happily headed towards "heaven".

The valley floor is about two square kilometers in size, with the pool taking up only about one-tenth of the area; the rest is grassland, enough to feed the animals for quite some time.

Not only inside Crescent Bay, but also outside, there was some grass. The herd quickly dispersed, with some entering Crescent Bay and others remaining on the grassland outside.

The cattle were unaware that three humans were on the rocks above them as they grazed and rested.

"Chen Yang, what do we do now? The herd of cattle is scattered," Tang Jiaqi asked.

Chen Yang glanced at it and said, "Once the cattle stop gathering at the entrance, we'll go over there, block the entrance as quickly as possible, and then climb up. If we're discovered, climb up the stone wall immediately; our lives are more important."

The wood and stones they had collected were already piled up at the entrance, and they had hidden themselves before the cattle arrived. Collecting wood was hard work, so it took them quite a while. Sometimes they also had to chop wood.

The surrounding stone walls are easy to climb, so if the cattle spot you, you can climb up the stone walls to escape.

"Use long logs to wedge diagonally against the stone wall, in a crisscross pattern, and pile stones in the gaps to create multiple layers of barriers. It's not about blocking them completely, but ensuring that the barriers are too difficult for the cattle to pass through."

Chen Yang spoke to them. Both nodded, confirming they understood.

After waiting another hour, they quietly climbed down and began to move quickly.

The long logs were wedged firmly into the cracks in the rocks, and each log was wedged in a crisscross pattern every half meter. With this wedging, the three-meter-wide entrance was only wide enough for the calf to get out.

Chen Yang and Ding Qihan worked together to move the stones, piling them one by one between the gaps in the wood. Each stone was heavy, and even a bison wouldn't be able to move them easily. Moreover, there were wooden sticks wedged between the stones. The bison's charge would be lucky to break through one or two layers. Once there were enough stones and wood piled up, there was no need to worry.

"Chen Yang, a cow is coming over," Ding Qihan said.

Chen Yang's Eagle Eyes had already noticed that a bull that didn't sleep at night was wandering over, seemingly sensing that something was wrong.

Chen Yang glanced at it; the project was almost finished, and it would only take another five or six minutes.

"You guys continue, I'll go buy you some time."

"What are you going to do? Do you have a plan?" Ding Qihan asked curiously.

"I'll fight bulls," Chen Yang said with a smile, then walked out.

"Don't be silly, get to work," Tang Jiaqi said.

Aren't you surprised?

"He's a martial arts master and an alien, what's so surprising? Let's get to work."

Ding Qihan was speechless as he moved stones with Tang Jiaqi.

Chen Yang was indeed preparing to go to bullfighting.

He ran out as fast as he could, shouting, "Holy crap, someone's bragging!"

When Ding Qihan heard this, he lost his footing and almost got hit by a stone.

"When did this guy become so funny? Did he catch your weirdness from you?"

“I think it’s possible,” Tang Jiaqi said thoughtfully.

Whether or not the cattle understood what Chen Yang meant by bragging, they had at least noticed him. Not only the cattle inside Crescent Bay, but also the cattle outside Crescent Bay heard the shout, though they couldn't see him.

The cattle in Crescent Bay were all drawn to Chen Yang and looked over, but the result was different from what Chen Yang had expected.

Originally, he planned to attract the attention of the cattle and then rely on his skills to deal with them. He had martial arts skills, wolf-like blood, and eagle eyes, so he was confident that he could handle six or seven cattle.

But the cattle remained unmoved when they saw him; some even continued to lie down and rest.

Chen Yang was speechless. "Looks like I can really brag about this now."
