Chen Yang and Li Su'er walked eastward for most of the day and withdrew before dusk. They calculated the time and realized that it was almost time for them to land.
Chen Yang brought out his outdoor watch this time. He could keep track of time accurately, as long as he calculated the time difference between the micro-world and the real world.
They disembarked just as they were landing, drawing surprised glances from the other tourists. How could these two sleepyheads, who had been asleep since boarding the plane, wake up so precisely on time?
"Do you guys have a biological alarm clock inside your bodies? You fall asleep as soon as you board the plane and can't be woken up when they serve the in-flight meal. Now that we're about to land, you're all awake."
A bald foreign man spoke to them in Chinese, and it seemed he had been in China for quite some time, as his Chinese was excellent.
“This is our secret, Uncle,” Li Su’er said with a smile.
The foreign man's eyes widened, and he said, "What? Could it be some kind of Chinese secret technique? If so, please teach me. That way, I won't have insomnia anymore, and I can also save my increasingly thinning hair. You call this 'Mediterranean', right?"
This foreign uncle was very humorous; Li Su'er and Chen Yang chatted with him the whole time before they got off the plane.
After getting off the plane, they went to pick up their pet, Ouhuang. Their luggage was all taken care of with one suitcase each, so they didn't need to check it in. Only Ouhuang had to be transported through the pet shipping channel. Fortunately, Chen Yang had made sure to get Ouhuang vaccinated, otherwise, without a health certificate, it wouldn't have been able to travel abroad with them.
But to everyone's surprise, as soon as the European king was released from its cage, it began to frantically tear at Chen Yang's pants and growl. If Chen Yang hadn't taught it not to bark in front of many people, it would definitely have been barking loudly by now.
"Oh my god, what's wrong? Are you afraid of airplanes?" Li Su'er hugged Oh my god and comforted him.
"No, it seems to be telling us to enter the micro-realm. There's something going on in the micro-realm," Chen Yang suddenly said.
Sometimes, if the user doesn't want to leave the app, they can stay in the app. The app will automatically decide based on their wishes, but this has only happened once or twice.
"After we left the micro-world, the European Emperor stayed there. It seems to have sensed something was wrong, but it was just woken up and can't re-enter the micro-world."
Chen Yang said.
The inexplicable telepathic connection between him and the European Emperor played a significant role at this time.
"Su'er, you stay here and watch over me and the Emperor. I'll go in right away," Chen Yang said to Li Su'er.
Li Su'er nodded, and then they went directly into the airport lounge. Chen Yang rested his head on Li Su'er's lap, and that's how they entered the micro-world.
Although the situation was urgent, Li Su'er couldn't resist stealing a kiss from Chen Yang, who was fast asleep with his head resting on her face. A passing cleaning lady witnessed this and smiled knowingly. She was used to seeing couples kissing everywhere at Melbourne's airport.
As soon as Chen Yang entered the micro-realm, a gray-black figure rushed out from beside him.
The lucky one suddenly charged in one direction and began fighting with several creatures. Nearby, there were more than twenty other similar creatures eyeing him menacingly.
Chen Yang didn't have time to examine it closely. He immediately pulled out his throwing knife. A flash of silver light appeared, and a creature that was fighting with the European Emperor was hit by the knife. It died before it could even let out a scream.
The other creatures retreated in panic, giving Chen Yang a chance to observe his surroundings.
This creature was slender, with a fox-like face and stripes covering its back. During the fight, its mouth could open to about 180 degrees – quite astonishing, demonstrating its powerful bite. However, overall, it resembled a wolf; Chen Yang had never seen this creature in any available information.
The European Emperor was covered in wounds, bleeding from many places. It had a fierce look on its face and glared at the group of creatures. Even though it was outnumbered, it was not afraid at all. Its expression was ferocious and it growled, ready to fight the wolf-like creatures at any time.
Of Chen Yang's horses, one had already been killed, and the other huddled in a corner in terror. If it hadn't been tethered, it would surely have escaped. It was closer to the fire, which was probably why it survived.
After the previous experience of Wang Bing being bitten to death by a black leopard, Chen Yang was more careful when he withdrew. He tied the horse rope to a tree, surrounded it with dry branches, and built a fire to protect it. In order to prevent a fire, he would also dig out a fire pit.
However, some of the strange creatures attacking them were perched in trees. Although the dry branches did help, they weren't as effective as expected, and they still lost a horse.
Looking at the wounds on the European Emperor's body, you can tell that it has been fighting for a while, confronting and killing this group of creatures all by itself.
Besides the one he shot, there was also the corpse of another creature on the ground, its blood drained away; it must have been killed by the European Emperor. This group of creatures also seemed somewhat wary of the European Emperor.
The horse was probably killed after the European Emperor withdrew. The other horse was slightly closer to the fire, and the group of creatures probably felt something was strange after the European Emperor suddenly withdrew, so they did not attack immediately.
Only now did Chen Yang realize how dangerous it had just been. The forced exit after being woken up had a delay, enough time for the group of creatures to tear it apart. Moreover, if it weren't for the fact that the Ouhuang was incredibly powerful, that the creatures hadn't seen it before and were wary of it, and that the fire provided cover, the Ouhuang would be far more than just badly injured by now.
It's quite remarkable that it could fight against more than twenty carnivorous creatures on its own.
Chen Yang absolutely cannot retreat now. These creatures are experienced; if they remain frozen in place, they will be torn to shreds in an instant.
“European Emperor, come here, by the fire.”
Chen Yang and Ou Huang walked to the fire. These creatures were still afraid of fire, so they just roared and did not rush at them, but Chen Yang knew that they might not be able to hold out for long.
He pulled a few pieces of firewood from the fire and threw them out; the flames quickly ignited the dry leaves on the ground.
Seeing the wounds all over the European Emperor's body and the dead horse, Chen Yang's anger burned fiercely, along with the flames on the ground. He stared coldly at the group of creatures.
He didn't know if these creatures were extinct, but regardless, he wanted them to pay the price. This wasn't Earth; they weren't extinct. They were just predators in the microcosm, like other creatures.
In the firelight, a pebble flew out and struck a wolf-like creature, causing it to howl in pain, but it did not kill it.
Chen Yang only had ten throwing knives on him, all of which were on his belt at the back of his waist. All ten knives were to be used in critical moments, so he had to use stones instead.
"Lucky God, I'm here!"
Chen Yang leaned against the fire and spoke to Ou Huang. He held the stone axe in one hand and picked up another stone with the other. The firewood he had thrown out in front of him was almost extinguished; at this time of year, there wasn't much dry flammable material on the ground.
Without hesitation, Chen Yang threw another stone, this time aiming for the wolf-like creature's foot. The creature was struck, howling as it collapsed to the ground, its belly facing him. Only then did Chen Yang notice that beneath the wolf-like creature was a pouch, similar to that of a kangaroo.
It seems that these creatures are likely extinct or extremely endangered; otherwise, Chen Yang should have heard of them given their obvious characteristics.
The wolf-like creatures that had been locked in a stalemate with them finally realized they couldn't delay any longer. One of the larger creatures, presumably the alpha wolf, howled, and all the wolf-like creatures pounced, naturally avoiding the fire.
"Come on!" Chen Yang's eyes burned with fierce fighting spirit and rage. His wolfish bloodline was fully unleashed, and for the first time, he released his fighting desire without any restraint.
"Whoosh!" A cold light suddenly flashed, striking the wolf-like creature closest to them. Li Su'er's dashing figure appeared before him.
"My lord, I'm here to help you," she said to Chen Yang with a smile.
