The next day, when Chen Yang entered the micro-world, the first thing he did was check the trees for snakes, as he was still shaken by what had happened the day before.
If he hadn't spotted the python beforehand, it would have bitten and constricted him. Given the python's powerful muscles, once it began to constrict, he could easily have been injured, no matter which part of his body it was trying to kill.
There were far too many unknown dangers in the swamp. Chen Yang looked down twice but didn't see any trace of crocodiles.
He decided to wait in the tree for the crocodiles to come to him. Crocodiles are all farsighted and might be able to see him from afar and come to wait.
Since he could only stay in the tree, bored Chen Yang began to carve with his stubborn blade.
At first, he wanted to carve a European emperor out of a piece of wood, and unsurprisingly, he failed. What he carved was not a dog at all, but clearly a pig with a dog's head.
Upon discovering that he had no talent for carving, Chen Yang decisively gave up carving and began to use the Tenacious Blade as a whetstone to sharpen spearheads.
Sure enough, the indestructible nature of the spearhead made it perfect as a whetstone, and Chen Yang quickly sharpened the spearhead to an unparalleled edge.
Then he got bored again, and when he got bored he started to want to sleep, but how could he sleep in the swamp? There were threats everywhere, and even a poisonous insect could kill him.
"Looks like I'm not a qualified hunter," Chen Yang said with a wry smile.
The most important qualities for a qualified hunter are patience and self-regulation; they can even lie motionless for a whole day.
Chen Yang tried to calm himself down, but he still felt a restless feeling inside.
"No, I used to be able to calm down very easily."
He suddenly realized the problem; he wasn't usually this impatient.
"It's the wolfish bloodline at work." He realized the problem.
He had been busy all this time, so he hadn't realized the problem and just thought it was a normal change in mindset. Now that he had some free time, he remembered that when he was rewarded with the wolf bloodline, it was clearly stated that fighting spirit and sexual desire were weaknesses.
Up until now, he hadn't felt that this was a flaw at all; it hadn't triggered his desires at all, except for the time he fought Dong Yujue, when it was slightly aroused. But now, he realized it.
This is a very serious problem.
Chen Yang has always believed that his strength lies in his ability to think calmly about problems in most situations, but now, he finds it difficult to remain calm and is prone to making mistakes.
"We need to pay more attention to this issue and learn ways to calm ourselves down."
Chen Yang muttered to himself that now that he was aware of the problem, he had to find a way to solve it. He sat on the tree and began to concentrate on counting, from one to one hundred, and then from one hundred back to one.
After he counted back and forth a dozen times, there was a sudden movement in the swamp.
He turned his gaze over and immediately shuddered, staring incredulously at the colossal beast before him that seemed to have stepped out of prehistoric times. Was this still a crocodile? Or was it an elephant in disguise?
Its body, at least four meters long, slowly emerged from the water, each step incredibly slow and firm, leaving huge craters in the already muddy soil. It dragged its heavy body up, its unparalleled imposing presence unlike anything Chen Yang had ever seen.
This is a crocodile, a crocodile that is estimated to be over four meters long and weighs nearly a ton.
Chen Yang only wanted to hunt ordinary crocodiles, but now that such a big guy has suddenly appeared, he is at a loss.
Normal hunting methods are useless against this kind of big guy. It's impossible to put a rope around its mouth. Chen Yang's idea of restraining it from behind and preventing it from rolling to its death is just a pipe dream.
This made Chen Yang a little annoyed.
Fortunately, crocodiles can't climb trees and aren't fast runners, so this big guy is even slower. He could easily shake off his opponent.
So now the decision is in Chen Yang's hands; whether or not to fight is the question.
However, Chen Yang soon realized he was wrong, terribly wrong. Since this crocodile was different from ordinary crocodiles, how could he treat it the same way he would a normal crocodile?
This behemoth, over four meters long, slowly walked towards Chen Yang; it was coming straight for him.
Crocodiles can't climb trees, and a crocodile of this size is even less likely to do so, but it has other methods.
It slowly climbed to the tree where Chen Yang was, and with a fierce flick of its tail, Chen Yang felt the whole tree shake violently. He had to hold on tightly to the trunk to maintain his balance.
"Bang!"
Another explosive sound rang out as the crocodile lashed the tree trunk with its tail once more. Chen Yang could clearly sense that the tree wouldn't last much longer; the crocodile's strikes were too powerful.
Chen Yang estimated that if he were chosen, he would either die or be seriously injured. The power of this behemoth was beyond imagination. If it bit him and started to roll in death, even a rhinoceros or an elephant would not be able to escape death.
"Since you've chosen to start a war, then let's go." Chen Yang's eyes burned with the fire of war. He suddenly realized that he could use his fighting spirit to his advantage. Once his fighting spirit was ignited, he would rely more on his fighting instincts.
He had always subconsciously suppressed his fighting instincts with reason, just like everyone else. Even when practicing martial arts and fighting, it wasn't about fighting to the death, unlike this kind of battle.
The giant crocodile continued to lash the tree trunk. Chen Yang stood on the trunk, adjusted his posture, and used his weight to press down on the trunk, controlling its direction of fall.
After another blow, the tree, as thick as Chen Yang's thigh, fell to the ground. However, Chen Yang had already controlled its trajectory, and it crashed down precisely on the crocodile.
"Here I come!"
With a shout, Chen Yang jumped down and thrust his spear into the crocodile's head.
However, the crocodile had already made its move when it reached the bottom of the tree. It swung its tail and quickly crawled a short distance. Chen Yang's spear did not pierce it, but grazed its belly.
The crocodile was so big that a large part of its belly was exposed, and Chen Yang's spear cut a gash in its abdomen.
The crocodile, in pain, began to roll wildly, and Chen Yang jumped away like a monkey at the first moment.
The fallen tree did not stop the crocodile from rolling around, and in an instant, mud and dust flew everywhere, and the small piece of land shook.
Chen Yang watched this scene with lingering fear. He quickly took out all the ropes on his body, twisted them a few times, and combined them into a single strand about the thickness of his thumb.
"Give it a try." He tied the rope into a noose and bound it to the spear.
After rolling around for a while, the giant crocodile finally broke free from the tree that was pressing down on it and set its sights on Chen Yang again.
Chen Yang cautiously stepped forward, holding up the spear. He extended the spear as if it were a fishing rod.
"Come on, big fish! I've won the children's fishing competition!" Chen Yang muttered to himself, trying to encourage himself. At this moment, if he didn't say something, the tension would easily cause him to make a mistake.
This wasn't one of those small crocodiles that was only a meter long. If this crocodile pounced, Chen Yang would have very little room to dodge, so he had to be extremely careful and be ready to retreat at any moment.
“Let’s begin, big crocodile,” he laughed excitedly.
