Master Chanshan is really old. Although he has been in good health in recent years, it is long past the time for him to pass away.
He sent Dong Yujue away because he felt his days were numbered.
It was the micro-world that forcibly kept him alive for several years.
For the past few years, he has been quietly waiting for death beneath the snow-capped mountains.
He told Cangyuan all this in the hope that Cangyuan would not take the responsibility upon himself.
Before his death, Master Chanshan was awake for a day. On that day, he chatted and talked with many people who came to visit him, and his face was rosy.
His words were casual, yet they prompted many people in the community to reflect.
In the final period of his life, he remained calm and did not shy away from discussing death, expressing his regrets and some fears.
"To be born into this world is the greatest happiness. The micro-world is great, and you are great too, able to make this happiness even greater."
This was the last thing Master Chanshan said to Chen Yang.
On his deathbed, he only allowed Cang Yuan and Dong Yujue to guard him.
"After I die, stay with me for three days, then cremate me. Divide my ashes and bury them under your favorite trees. If you miss me, go and talk to me."
Master Chanshan gave these instructions to the two men, and then passed away.
Neither Dong Yujue nor Cang Yuan cried, but they also barely spoke for three days, staying by Master Chanshan's side the whole time.
Three days later, they cremated Master Chanshan.
The ashes were divided into three parts: one was sent back to the Zen Master's former residence in reality, one was buried under a tree in a small courtyard at the foot of the snow mountain, and one was taken into the Micro Realm by Chen Yang with the help of Dong Yujue and buried under a tea tree in the Micro Realm.
The ape decided to continue its journey, while Dong Yujue took on the task assigned by Master Chanshan, carrying the camera and walking with the ape through the snowy Himalayas.
After all this was taken care of, the first snow of the year fell in the micro-world.
The passing of Master Zenshan has saddened many, but life goes on, whether in the virtual world or in the real world; it will not change drastically because of one person's death.
However, people still occasionally reminisce about the quiet little courtyard at the foot of the snow-capped mountain and the eternally serene old monk.
In the micro-realm, Cang Yuan stayed at Master Chanshan's courtyard, accompanied by several world citizens who had always longed for life in the snow-capped mountains.
They will work with the apes to develop the camp in the snowy region.
However, the Zen Master's courtyard will be preserved forever.
A road will be built between the snowy region and the night forest.
They used to frequently travel between the snowy plateau and Yebolin, and had long since found a road along the way, clearing away some obstacles and opening up some sections.
The camellia oleifera trees were discovered near the snowy region, and the locals would go there every year to harvest the camellia oleifera seeds.
Over the past few years, they have actually paved many roads for themselves.
The distance from the camp to the snowfield is about half the distance to the West Boundary River camp. If a horse-riding road could be built, the speed would be much faster, and the transportation of goods would be much more convenient.
Over the years, they have cleared away many obstacles on the road, so there are not many places that need to be detoured.
Chen Yang took his family to the snowy region and lived with the apes in Master Chanshan's cottage for a period of time. During the day, they would go out to cut down trees and clear roads, and at night they would come back to chat with everyone.
In reality, the ape almost always moves in uninhabited areas, so it spends more time in the micro-world than one might imagine, and often helps out.
Since the Snow Clan didn't have to worry about the temperature in the snowy region, they came together to help clear roads and build camps. With their help, the process was much faster.
However, the ape would occasionally stare blankly at certain objects in the hut, as if reminiscing about something.
At these times, Chen Yang would silently leave, and after a while, he would go to chat with Cang Yuan again.
In reality, Cang Yuan discovered a trace that might have been left by Xue Kui and is currently tracking it.
It has a good physique and can go to more places that are difficult for humans to reach. Its skill is that of a snow monster, which gives it a great advantage in finding its own kind.
Perhaps he really will be able to find Xue Kui, which would truly shock the world.
This greatly boosted the spirits of the ape, as did Dong Yujue, who was traveling with him.
To save time, Chen Yang directly opened a portal and sent them supplies.
They found their own food, as there were many creatures in the snowy region, but the other supplies were carried by the ape, as the weight was no problem for it.
With hope restored, Cangyuan stopped spacing out so often, which reassured Chen Yang.
Construction is underway on both the snowfield and the campsite, and the road construction is progressing rapidly, changing every day.
The Snow Region is progressing faster because of the two cheat codes, Xue Kui and Chen Yang.
They didn't need a perfectly smooth road, just one without any huge obstacles or sudden undulations, enough for the horses to pass through.
When the weather gets colder, we'll send Xue Kui to the camp to work on both sides simultaneously. We should be able to finish the road by this winter.
It's just about clearing obstacles, filling in potholes, and shoveling soil on the existing foundation. They can open up one kilometer a day, and some sections don't even need their help because they were already passable.
Like the West Boundary River Camp, the Snowfield Camp does not require a teleportation gate and is one of the camps that is relatively close to the Town of Hearts.
However, living conditions in the snowy region are somewhat harsh. Although living under the snow-capped mountains sounds wonderful, it's a completely different experience once you actually go there.
Those residents had actually lived there and made their decision after careful consideration.
They admired Master Chanshan for being able to live in such a place for so long, and for a period of time he was all alone.
Perhaps, as Zen Master Chanshan said, he was here quietly awaiting death, only that death was a little late in arriving.
Master Chanshan spent nearly five years in the snowy region. During those five years, he spent a significant portion of his time alone. Dong Yujue would occasionally come to cultivate with him, and Chen Yang and the others would come to visit occasionally. The rest of the time, Cangyuan was his only companion.
Master Chanshan taught Cangyuan many things.
He taught the ape to read, providing it with its first introduction to literacy; he taught it to paint, nurturing it into a master of traditional Chinese landscape painting; and he taught the ape many things about humans.
Washing up, sweeping, folding blankets, meditating, etc., these are all things that Master Chanshan has taught me over the past few years.
It can be said that without Master Chanshan, there would be no Cangyuan as we know it today.
In honor of Master Chanshan, the courtyard was named Chanshan Courtyard.
The development of the Snowfield Camp will revolve around this courtyard, but this small courtyard will not be changed. It will be the center of the Snowfield Camp, the ancient center.
