The area where Chen Yang was located was on the edge of a coniferous forest. Even though it was summer, it was still covered in snow. Tall trees stood straight in the snow, and there was no trace of any living things.
However, Chen Yang could sense the presence of some creatures.
In such a place, the air is not so murky.
Chen Yang's mind stirred, and he looked in one direction.
A lone snow wolf was watching him.
The snow wolf was very wary and did not approach rashly, but instead lingered and observed from a distance.
However, Chen Yang knew that it would attack soon.
Chen Yang could feel the intense hunger emanating from the snow wolf even from this distance.
This must be a snow wolf that has been driven away by a pack of wolves and has not eaten for a long time.
Chen Yang has hunted many creatures and exudes a dangerous aura. Ordinary creatures would not choose to attack him out of indiscriminate hunger.
However, this snow wolf must have seen humans before, otherwise it wouldn't have targeted a strange and dangerous creature. It must have seen humans before, perhaps even fought with them, to have set its sights on Chen Yang.
Unfortunately, it chose the wrong target.
With a few leaps, Chen Yang arrived in front of the snow wolf. The snow wolf instinctively tried to escape, but before it could, Chen Yang slapped it onto the snow.
Chen Yang unabashedly unleashed his powerful aura, simultaneously employing soul intimidation, which terrified the snow wolf so much that it lay whimpering in front of him, too afraid to run away.
Chen Yang used his natural inspiration to guide the wolf, sending it to find other humans.
However, he was paid a salary; he wasn't using free labor.
When he took the jerky out of his spatial ring, the hungry wolf almost pounced on him. It drooled as it looked at Chen Yang, wagging its tail frantically to show its affection. Anyone who knew him would think he was a wolf, but someone who didn't would mistake him for a husky.
With the jerky and Chen Yang's intuitive command, the wolf became incredibly diligent, immediately leading Chen Yang to search for traces of humans.
Chen Yang looked at the GPS and found that the general direction was accurate, so he stopped doubting it, put the GPS away, and followed the snow wolf.
The helicopter dropped Chen Yang off at a distance of 20 kilometers from the target, separated by a mountain. This was to ensure he wouldn't be detected.
The 20 kilometers below the snow-capped peaks would be a challenge for most people, but it was nothing for Chen Yang.
This wolf's range extends far beyond twenty kilometers. In search of food, it has already traversed the area surrounding the snow-capped mountains and knows where humans are.
Chen Yang was more convinced of the snow wolf's route because animals were more reliable than humans in this regard.
The snow wolf doesn't follow the paths that normal humans would take; it avoids these places, thus preventing Chen Yang from being discovered prematurely.
After walking for half a day, the man and the wolf discovered a nest of snow rabbits, and the snow wolf stared longingly at Chen Yang.
This brood of rabbits was very clever; they hid in their burrow and wouldn't come out. However, Chen Yang used his natural intuition to lure them in and caught the whole brood.
It was getting dark, and he wanted to make a fire and eat some cooked food before nightfall, so he could continue his work after dark.
After dark, with his helmet on, it became even more impossible for anyone to see his face and figure.
The snow wolf ate cooked food for the first time, and it devoured it, leaving not even a bone fragment.
Chen Yang only ate a portion, while the snow wolf devoured three rabbits on its own. This was probably the only time it had eaten its fill in months.
After dark, Chen Yang put out the fire and continued the operation.
The man and the wolf moved at night, and their speed was not affected at all; in fact, it was even faster.
Twenty kilometers is nothing to Chen Yang; even with the complex terrain, he should have arrived long ago. It's just that the snow wolf is slowing him down. And he's not in a hurry.
Now that the snow wolf has eaten and drunk its fill, it naturally walks even faster.
Soon, Chen Yang saw the lights.
"Alright, your task is complete."
Chen Yang tossed a large piece of jerky to the snow wolf and told it to leave.
The snow wolf was a little reluctant to leave; the day it spent with Chen Yang was the most comfortable day of its wolf life.
Chen Yang glared at it, releasing a bit of his imposing aura, and the snow wolf immediately left obediently.
After the snow wolf left, Chen Yang leisurely walked towards the camp in the mountains.
This terrorist camp wasn't like the villas in the snow-capped mountains depicted in the movies; it was a refugee camp filled with tents and snowmobiles, and even had two helicopters parked there.
However, it would be a big mistake to think of it as a refugee camp. Just by looking at those burly men patrolling with guns, you can tell that this is not a refugee camp.
Chen Yang was dressed in all black, walked silently, and controlled the light to blend into the darkness. Although his control over the light was not enough to make him invisible, it was still very easy for him to hide his tracks in the dark.
As he approached the camp, he discovered that there were still many ordinary people inside.
These people were emaciated and cooked and washed clothes in the snow. Their tents were tattered and barely kept them warm; they didn't even have lights.
Bright lights shone from the larger tents, and laughter and cheerful voices could be heard.
Chen Yang walked to a tent at the edge and saw a burly man pulling a woman who was drying clothes on the snow and forcibly dragging her into the tent.
The woman was thin and, although she was fairly good-looking, her face was filled with undisguised exhaustion. She struggled a few times, but to no avail, and she quickly realized that it was futile.
With despair filling her eyes, she was dragged into the tent.
Chen Yang sighed and quietly followed him inside.
The tent was only so big, so once Chen Yang went inside, he naturally had no way to hide his presence.
However, he didn't need to hide it; he knocked the burly man unconscious with a single punch in the blink of an eye.
The woman wanted to scream, but after seeing Chen Yang make a shushing gesture towards her, she quickly covered her mouth, and her previously lifeless eyes regained a glimmer of hope.
"Can you speak English?" Chen Yang asked.
The woman shook her head and said, "I am from country E."
Chen Yang switched to English and asked, "How many other people here are like you?"
Chen Yang has an exceptional memory, making language learning incredibly easy for him. As a result, he has also learned several languages. He now knows more than a dozen languages, including English.
The woman looked at Chen Yang in surprise, but since Chen Yang was wearing a mask, she couldn't tell anything from him.
“There are many people here, all from different countries, including my sister. Please, save my sister! They haven’t touched her yet; they want to leave her with the leader.”
The woman spoke excitedly, but she still knew her limits and controlled her voice.
Chen Yang nodded and said, "I will rescue you all. Do you have a way to gather everyone together so that you won't be affected during the battle later?"
The woman nodded quickly and said, "Yes, they'll be resting soon, and I can get everyone together."
"Okay, you go out later and gather everyone together. Once the battle starts, you all need to hide immediately," Chen Yang said.
The woman nodded, her eyes shining with hope.
Are they finally going to be free? Has the army arrived? How many have come?
