Seeing that she hadn't managed to knock the man down with her kick, Yafei raised an eyebrow in surprise. She considered herself quite skilled, and that ordinary men were no match for her. It seemed this man was no ordinary person.
The man turned around; it was Zheng Jianhua, who looked angry. "I didn't..."
Before he could finish speaking, Yafi clenched her fist and threw a punch like the wind, aiming for his face.
Unexpectedly, Zheng Jianhua slightly turned his body and quickly dodged the attack. Then he reached out and grabbed her wrist, throwing her against the wall.
Because Yafei was a girl, Zheng Jianhua only used half his strength, and used his other hand to protect her head as they slammed into the wall together.
Yafei felt as if the hand holding hers was an iron clamp, making her unable to move, and her wrist ached.
With her movements restricted, Yafei struggled but couldn't break free. She moved her free legs and remembered the dirty tricks her second brother had taught her.
When Zheng Jianhua saw the sinister smile on the girl's face, he sensed something was wrong.
The two attacked almost simultaneously, but Zheng Jianhua was stronger and thus had the upper hand, blocking Yafei's attack again.
Zheng Jianhua was genuinely angry now, and he moved even closer, pinning her down completely.
Seeing Yafei's angry eyes, Zheng Jianhua lowered his eyebrows and said in a slightly angry tone, "Young lady, who taught you to use such underhanded tricks?"
This was the first time in Yafei's life that she had suffered such a great loss, and she was really panicked. She opened her mouth to shout for help.
Zheng Jianhua noticed and, before she could cry out, used another hand to cover her mouth.
"Don't shout, I'm really not a bad person. I'm a friend of Jiang Weidong, the owner of this house, and I'm a soldier!"
As Zheng Jianhua explained, he felt annoyed. He should have given prior notice; he shouldn't have pulled this surprise attack.
Now he's been mistaken for a thief. Thinking about this, Zheng Jianhua felt indignant. He looked so upright; he didn't look like a thief at all.
When Yafei heard him mention her second brother's name, she already believed him somewhat. So she made two soft sobs, lowered her eyes, and looked down, signaling him to let go.
Zheng Jianhua understood what she meant, and before letting go, he said worriedly, "I'll let you go first, but you're not allowed to scream, understand?"
Yafi blinked, indicating that she understood.
Looking into her big, bright eyes so close to his face, Zheng Jianhua belatedly felt a little embarrassed.
He slightly shifted his gaze from her face, and then slowly released his hand from covering Yafei's mouth.
This was the first time Yafei had been so close to a man. Her face flushed slightly, and she said, her voice trembling with fear, "Where are your IDs? Show them to me and I'll believe you."
Zheng Jianhua quickly pulled out his ID from his pocket and handed it to her, saying, "Girl, I really didn't lie to you."
Yafei looked at the photo, then at his face, and murmured, "Zheng Jianhua?"
Zheng Jianhua nodded, "Yes, that's me."
As he spoke, he rubbed his lower back and clicked his tongue, saying, "Little girl, you really went all out. I won't hold it against you this time, but don't be so impulsive next time."
Because Yafei looked younger than his cousin, Zheng Jianhua treated her like a child and unconsciously started to lecture her.
Yafei was very unhappy, and thinking about how he had just pinned her against the wall, she felt both ashamed and angry, and a nameless fire rose in her heart.
So, she was overcome with malice. First, she threw her ID at Zheng Jianhua, then slapped him across the face and shouted, "You scoundrel!"
Before he could react, she quickly opened the door, went inside, and then slammed the door shut on Zheng Jianhua, leaving him outside.
Yafei's slap was neither too strong nor too weak; it knocked Zheng Jianhua's head to the side, and for a moment his mind went blank.
Zheng Jianhua chuckled angrily, pressing the tip of his tongue against his cheek. He had finally witnessed what it meant for the villain to accuse first, when it was clearly the girl who started it.
I was just acting in self-defense, and yet I was inexplicably labeled a hooligan.
To act like a hooligan on such a young girl? Zheng Jianhua snorted. He wasn't that desperate!
Looking at the tightly closed door, Zheng Jianhua gritted his teeth in anger. He hit him and ran away. What a coward! If he doesn't complain when Jiang Weidong comes back, he'll write his name backwards!
Meanwhile, Jiang Weidong was so happy in the hospital that he was practically beside himself with joy.
"Doctor, is it true? My wife is really pregnant with twins?"
Lin Wangshu touched her slightly protruding belly, her face filled with disbelief.
The female doctor nodded with a smile, "That's right, there are two fetal heartbeats, congratulations!"
"However, pregnant women carrying twins need more nutrition, so remember to prepare more delicious and nourishing meals for them."
Twins seem to be a rare occurrence, and the female doctor went on and on about many precautions.
Jiang Weidong listened intently, silently memorizing everything.
As they left, Jiang Weidong held Lin Wangshu's arm with one hand and wrapped his other arm around her waist, handling her with utmost care, as if he were holding a bomb about to explode.
Lin Wangshu looked at her still-flat stomach and chuckled, "You're exaggerating! My belly isn't even showing yet, you're being too cautious!"
Jiang Weidong shook his head. In just a short while, he was already covered in sweat. "Better safe than sorry. I'll help you."
So the two of them slowly made their way home in this strange posture.
When she got home, Yafei was so happy to learn that Lin Wangshu was pregnant with twins that she almost jumped for joy. "Oh my god, just like me and Weimin, twins!"
Hearing this, Jiang Weidong was displeased and flicked her forehead with his finger. "How can you talk like that? What do you mean by 'double sticks'? That's awful!"
Yafei snorted, "What's so unpleasant about it? When I was a kid, people called me 'flower stick'."
As she spoke, she squatted down and gently tapped Lin Wangshu's belly, "Little twins, grow up quickly, and when you come out, Auntie will play with you!"
Lin Wangshu chuckled, "They're still so young, how could they hear you?"
Yafei shook her head nonchalantly, "Anyway, I'll talk to them more, and they'll be closest to me then!"
Upon hearing this, Jiang Weidong immediately felt a sense of crisis and kicked her, saying, "No way! My child can't be closest to you. Get out of the way and make room for me!"
Just as the two were jostling each other, the phone rang.
"Go, answer the phone!" Lin Wangshu gestured to Jiang Weidong with her chin and gave him instructions.
Under Yafei's smug gaze, Jiang Weidong reluctantly answered the phone, "Hello, who is it?"
After a while, Jiang Weidong's delighted voice rang out: "Jianhua? You're in Qingdao! When shall we get together?"
Upon hearing the name, Yafei froze, slowly stood up, and tiptoed towards the door, leaving Lin Wangshu completely bewildered.
As she reached the door, sure enough, she heard Jiang Weidong roar behind her, "Jiang Yafei, what a mess you've made!"
