Since embarrassing Hou Chengbei in public last time, the Hou brothers have become much more low-key, and they avoid the Jiang family's children whenever they see them.
Guoqing and Junqing, perhaps because they had "fought" together, were also willing to bring Minqing along. The three of them often got together and whispered among themselves.
That day, Lin Wangshu was humming a song while watering the flowers when Yafei rushed back, panting, "Sister, something terrible has happened! Big Brother and the others were caught by Ge Hongbing for stealing Mom's clothes!"
Upon hearing this, Lin Wangshu immediately made a decision and said to Yafei, "Go next door and call Wang Haiyang. I'll go inside to get something."
After saying that, she turned around and ran into the house. She was going to get the half-finished piece of clothing that hadn't been burned that night. She wanted to catch the thief red-handed so that she could have something to say to Ge Hongbing later.
By the time she ran to the beach with her clothes, the two sides were already fighting. Jiang Junqing was hitting someone with his belt when he saw Lin Wangshu arrive. He ran over and pulled her aside, anxiously asking, "Why are you here!"
Lin Wangshu snorted coldly and rolled her eyes in annoyance, "I'll clean up your mess!"
Jiang Junqing scratched his head sheepishly. He had really gotten himself into trouble this time. He asked curiously, "What are you going to do about it?"
Seeing that Ge Hongbing and his group had already obtained a high heel, Lin Wangshu waved what she was holding and shouted at Ge Hongbing, "Ge Hongbing, look what this is!"
Ge Hongbing took a closer look and his expression changed drastically. Of course he knew what it was; he had asked his mother to burn it, but he never expected it to end up in Lin Wangshu's hands.
Ge Hongbing, his face dark with anger, demanded, "How did you get it?"
Jiang Junqing looked at the half-piece of clothing in Lin Wangshu's hand and recognized it as the one that hadn't been burned that night. He then looked at Ge Hongbing's expression and understood.
Lin Wangshu smiled and said, "These are yours, aren't they? Ge Erniang is really something, why would she burn such nice clothes?"
Enraged, Ge Hongbing reached out to snatch it, but Jiang Junqing slapped his hand away and said coldly, "Are you still planning to take it by force?"
Lin Wangshu's face also turned cold: "Give us back our things, and I'll give this back to you."
Ge Hongbing stared at her with a dark expression, and after a long while, gritted his teeth and said, "Fine."
After they exchanged their items, Ge Hongbing stared at Lin Wangshu's retreating figure for a long time, motionless. He had never seen such a beautiful girl before—proud, confident, radiant, and captivating. Suddenly, Ge Hongbing smiled. There would be a chance; one day he would have her.
On the way to the clinic, Jiang Junqing looked at Lin Wangshu, who had a cold face, and said with a guilty smile, "Little Moon, you were really amazing just now. What's that called again? Oh right, subduing the enemy without fighting!"
Lin Wangshu ignored him and said sarcastically, "I dare not accept such praise; I am not as good as you."
She then grabbed Jiang Minqing's ear and questioned him, "You're getting bolder and bolder, aren't you? You even dare to hit people." She had just seen the boy wielding the belt with great force.
Jiang Minqing rubbed his ears and said matter-of-factly, "We're like brothers fighting tigers, like fathers and sons going to war together!"
Jiang Junqing applauded him, "Well said!"
Lin Wangshu glared at him, and Jiang Junqing immediately patted his chest and assured him, "Don't worry, I know I was wrong!"
"What did you do wrong?"
“I shouldn’t have gone along with my elder brother and failed to nip his evil ideas in the bud.”
Lin Wangshu chuckled upon hearing this, and Jiang Junqing was happy to see her laugh as well.
Jiang Guoqing in front was so angry when he heard his brother belittle him like this that he couldn't help but turn around and beat him. Suddenly a person hugged his neck and sighed: "Your brother has been trained to be a grandson. If you don't care, he will have no future."
Jiang Guoqing glanced at him. "Doesn't your dad get scolded by your mom every day too? Isn't he a good-for-nothing?"
The man was about to say that they couldn't be the same when he suddenly realized something and smiled knowingly, "You're right, you have to listen to your wife."
They went to the clinic to get their wounds bandaged, while Lin Wangshu took her clothes and went home first.
When it was lunchtime, Anjie saw that both the adults and children were injured, and she couldn't eat because she was upset. This was not like a normal family.
Jiang Guoqing stood up first and said that he had changed his name to Jiang Weiguo. The other two said that they had also changed their names, one to Weidong and the other to Weimin.
Anjie didn't care what they were called; she only cared about who was going to wash the dishes after the meal.
After finishing their meal, Lin Wangshu pulled An Jie aside to whisper something. Seeing her mysterious look, An Jie couldn't help but laugh. "What do you want to tell Mom?"
Lin Wangshu told An Jie about what happened today, fearing that Ge Hongbing might come to the house to cause trouble and search for things.
An Jie was frightened and panicked upon hearing this, and couldn't help but tighten her grip on Lin Wangshu's hand. She knew this person; this Ge Hongbing had once been to Ge Meixia's house and was a petty and vindictive person. She just hadn't expected him to dare to cause trouble at the Commander's house.
"Then what should we do?" An Jie was somewhat at a loss.
"These clothes can't be kept, and the gramophone has to be smashed!"
Anjie nodded quickly. She couldn't care less about feeling sorry for him now; the most important thing was that she was afraid of implicating Jiang Defu.
Lin Wangshu stopped the three boys who wanted to go out and play, telling them to stay and help, as they had caused trouble and he couldn't just ignore them.
Anjie touched the clothes with some reluctance, and as she cut them, tears welled up in her eyes with heartache.
Upon seeing this, Lin Wangshu patted An Jie's hand and comforted her, "Mom, I'll buy you even better ones in the future. I'll have a tailor come to your house to make them!"
Seeing how reluctant his mother was to part with the clothes, Wei Dong truly regretted taking them out to fool around. He also promised, "Mom, I will definitely buy you a whole room full of beautiful dresses in the future."
