Chapter 99 Interview

The director of "Show Show" is Liu Jiang, who has made many well-received films before, but he has been out of the public eye for a long time because of that special decade.

This film marks Liu Jiang's comeback, and he takes it very seriously, carefully selecting each role.

Xiuxiu was the last role he hadn't decided on yet, which attracted actors from theater troupes all over the place to compete for it.

Liu Jiang was not satisfied with any of them. He felt that these people were missing something, so he had a sudden idea and decided to go to the school and select an inexperienced newcomer.

"This won't do. At least put on some lipstick!" In the dormitory, Shen Jiaojiao looked at Lin Wangshu, who had no makeup on, holding up a lipstick, and stomped her feet in frustration.

She had just visited all the dormitories, and everyone had dressed up carefully, except for Lin Wangshu, who hadn't drawn her eyebrows or put on any lipstick, and was still combing her hair.

Shen Jiaojiao saw this and was anxious. She whispered in Lin Wangshu's ear, "I have a secret weapon here. I didn't give it to Yang Yiyi. I saved it for you."

Since Yang Yiyi handed the note to Lin Wangshu last time, she has become much more restrained in her actions and no longer copies other people's things. As a result, her relationship with the other three in the dormitory has also improved.

She also wanted to apply for Xiuxiu's interview this time, and was a little embarrassed to borrow some cosmetics from Shen Jiaojiao. Shen Jiaojiao was always generous and readily agreed, but she didn't expect that she would hide some from Lin Wangshu.

Seeing Shen Jiaojiao's expression that said "I still like you the best," Lin Wangshu smiled and couldn't help but give her a big kiss on the cheek. "Jiaojiao, you're so cute."

Shen Jiaojiao wiped her face, thinking that she had agreed, and happily went to get the things for her. "Let me tell you, this can make you very fair-skinned when applied to the face."

Lin Wangshu quickly grabbed her and said with a smile, "I really don't need it, Jiaojiao."

Seeing Shen Jiaojiao frown, she quickly explained, "I've thought about it. We're interviewing Xiuxiu. She's a simple country girl. Wearing heavy makeup would make her look unlike herself."

Shen Jiaojiao wanted to retort, "Xiuxiu is still a pretty girl. What if she gets outshone by others if she doesn't dress up?"

But after looking at Lin Wangshu's face, Shen Jiaojiao silently swallowed her words. Lin Wangshu really didn't need to worry; she was prettier than others even without dressing up.

After thinking it over, Shen Jiaojiao had no choice but to compromise. She patted Lin Wangshu on the shoulder and encouraged her, "You absolutely have to be chosen, so you can vent my anger!"

Back when Liu Jiang announced he would hold a talent show, Shen's father, for the sake of his daughter, went to great lengths to invite Liu Jiang to dinner and secure a solo interview opportunity for Shen Jiaojiao.

After listening to Shen Jiaojiao finish singing, Liu Jiang only said one sentence with a pale face, "It's hoarse and unpleasant to listen to." Then he hurriedly took his leave.

Zheng Jianhua, who was standing to the side, couldn't hold back any longer and laughed so hard that he fell to the side on the sofa. Then, he was stomped on hard by Shen Jiaojiao, who was so angry that she was crying.

Father Shen's face also looked very ugly. Looking at his crying baby daughter, he was so angry that he wanted to beat Liu Jiang to vent his anger.

However, he was stopped by Shen's mother. Liu Jiang, a skinny old man, would probably have died on the spot if he had been punched by Shen's father.

Fortunately, there weren't many people present at the time, and Zheng Jianhua, who was gloating, shut up under his father's threat of violence, so not many people knew about it, which is why Shen Jiaojiao was willing to go out.

"This old man has a very sharp tongue, so you'd better be prepared. Don't cry, or you'll be too embarrassed and people will laugh at you for the rest of your life!"

Shen Jiaojiao seemed to harbor deep resentment and generously shared her experiences with Lin Wangshu.

Lin Wangshu was very touched. Shen Jiaojiao was a proud person, but she was willing to expose her own wounds for her sake. "Jiaojiao, don't worry, I'm not one to be trifled with. Who knows who will be the one crying in the end?"

Before leaving, Lin Wangshu touched the thick, black braid in front of her. Whether it would be a success or a failure depended on this shiny black hair.

When Lin Wangshu arrived at the school's auditorium, she saw many girls going in full of ambition and coming out crying.

Those still in line felt uneasy, and some couldn't withstand the pressure and secretly left before even getting in.

"Go away. What we want is a natural, unadorned rural girl, not a heavily made-up modern woman. You don't even understand the character, so don't waste everyone's time."

As soon as Lin Wangshu entered, she heard such a blunt evaluation. The girl on stage, wearing high heels, immediately had tears welling up in her eyes and ran off the stage, barely holding back her tears.

Lin Wangshu couldn't help but gasp. This Director Liu was just as Shen Jiaojiao had said—his words were incisive and he didn't give anyone face.

"Next."

Hearing the call, Lin Wangshu stopped thinking and walked onto the stage at a moderate pace. A row of people were sitting in front of the stage. The middle-aged bald old man was Liu Jiang, and the assistant director and school leaders and teachers were sitting next to him.

After a morning of interviews yielding no results, Liu Jiang looked somewhat irritable and tired. Before Lin Wangshu went on stage, he leaned back in his chair, half-closing his eyes and letting out a long yawn.

After Lin Wangshu went on stage, Wang Chang'an, the assistant director next to Liu Jiang, couldn't help but exclaim in surprise and whispered in Liu Jiang's ear, "Old Liu, this girl's image is very eye-catching."

Liu Jiang was somewhat surprised. As directors, they had seen thousands of beautiful women, but this was the first time he had heard Wang Chang'an praise someone like this.

So he opened his eyes with some curiosity and took a closer look at Lin Wangshu. After seeing her clearly, Liu Jiang sat up straight and nodded slightly, "She's alright."

This wasn't exactly a compliment, but the vice principal, who had been sitting on pins and needles, was so moved he almost cried. He had sat with Liu Jiang all morning, watching him criticize his own school's students so harshly.
