Liang Ping looked at Ge Hongbing with some suspicion, "What solutions do you have? Let me tell you, don't come up with any lousy ideas!"
Ge Hongbing's face stiffened for a moment, then he quickly smiled and said, "Do you know why her father, Jiang Defu, hasn't been promoted all these years?"
"Why?"
"Because Jiang Defu's wife comes from a bad family, his life is probably over. But if he becomes in-laws with your family, things might change."
Liang Ping seemed thoughtful and somewhat tempted. He genuinely liked Lin Wangshu's face, and the thought of marrying her and looking at her every day made him happy.
But you can't ask his dad about this; he wouldn't do something like that. You have to ask his mom. Liang Ping is the youngest in the family. They say the youngest son and the eldest grandson are the old lady's lifeblood. His mom dotes on him the most and gives him whatever he wants.
Thinking this, Liang Ping couldn't wait any longer. He left Ge Hongbing behind and rushed back to the guesthouse to call his mother.
"Mom, I've spotted a girl I like here. Come over and help me propose!" Liang Ping shouted excitedly to his mother as soon as the call connected.
"What? Didn't you go on an inspection tour with your father? How come you've taken a fancy to a fisherman's girl?" Mother Liang was somewhat incredulous. Wasn't her son supposed to have high standards? Could he have been set up by someone?
"Oh dear, what fisherman's girl? She's the island commander's daughter, and she's very beautiful!" Liang Ping said impatiently.
The commander's daughter? Liang's mother remembered hearing her husband mention her, lamenting that he was a talented man, but unfortunately his career had come to an end. Liang's mother was somewhat dissatisfied, but she couldn't explain it clearly over the phone, so she could only agree to come over immediately.
When Liang's mother arrived at Songshan Island, Deputy Political Commissar Liang was somewhat surprised. "Why did you come here? Isn't this ridiculous? I'm here for an inspection. What kind of appearance is this, bringing your whole family along?"

Seeing that he was feeling guilty, Liang's mother lowered her voice and said, "She said she was the daughter of the island's commander."
“She’s Jiang Defu’s daughter.” Deputy Political Commissar Liang understood. He chuckled and said, “This kid has high standards, but Commander Jiang probably wouldn’t even look at him!”
Mother Liang couldn't stand him boosting others' morale while belittling his own. "What's wrong with my son? Besides, Ping'er asked me to propose marriage, which means the girl is very willing. What's the use if he disagrees?"
"Then go ahead, just don't be afraid of getting humiliated." Deputy Political Commissar Liang didn't want to get involved anymore.
Then, Liang's mother asked Liang Ping in detail about the girl's situation. After learning that Lin Wangshu was not the Jiang family's biological daughter, she couldn't help but frown. However, seeing her son's obviously infatuated expression, she held back and decided to meet him in person the next day.
So the next day, Liang's mother went to visit the Jiang family. An Jie, knowing that she was the wife of Deputy Political Commissar Liang, warmly welcomed her in. After exchanging pleasantries for a while, Liang's mother got down to business.

Yafei ran out quickly. During the waiting period, the atmosphere was a bit tense. Seeing Anjie's tense look, Liang's mother thought that Anjie really didn't like her son, and she was a little unhappy, but she held back for her son's sake.
An Jie really looked down on Liang Ping. She had heard Jiang Defu mention him; he was an even worse spoiled brat than Wang Haiyang. No matter how powerful his father was, An Jie would never marry her daughter to him.
Yafei quickly brought Lin Wangshu back. Lin Wangshu had gone to mail the letter she wrote to Jiang Weidong. Yafei dragged her all the way home. When she entered the house, she was a little confused to see the unfamiliar Liang's mother. What was going on?
When An Jie saw Lin Wangshu return, he quickly grabbed her and asked, "Xiaoshu, are you dating Liang Ping?"
"How could that be? When did I start dating him?" Lin Wangshu shook her head.
An Jie finally breathed a sigh of relief, but Liang's mother was not happy about it. "That's impossible. Don't be shy, young lady. My son told me this himself. He would never lie."
Lin Wangshu was surprised that Liang Ping had lied. She frowned and explained, "Auntie, I've only met your son twice. I never agreed to anything with him. You should go back and ask Liang Ping about it!"
Mother Liang understood a little. Her son was only interested in her, and the girl didn't even like him. He was just fooling himself!
Feeling embarrassed to stay any longer, Liang's mother hurriedly left the Jiang family home. Back at the guesthouse, she angrily punched Liang Ping, saying, "Tell me the truth! Are you lying? She never agreed to date you! Why are you asking me to propose? You've made me lose face!"
