Because she had ruthlessly driven An Ran out of Songshan Island, An Jie was always worried that An Xin would blame her.
An Jie's family only has one older brother and one older sister left, and she was closest to An Xin since childhood.
She gave birth to twins, and it was Anxin who took care of her during her postpartum period.
The two sisters have supported each other for so many years and have a deep friendship. Anjie really doesn't want to have any estrangement with her.
After waiting anxiously for a few days, An Jie indeed received a call from her sister An Xin. However, the call wasn't to sever ties with her; instead, An Xin was overjoyed to thank her.
"Little sister, thank you so much! You've done our family a huge favor again!"
On the phone, An Xin's tone was upbeat, and she sounded genuinely happy.
Anjie was completely confused and asked cautiously, "Sister, aren't you angry that I treated Anran like that?"
An Xin shook her head repeatedly on the other end of the phone, laughing as she said, "Why would I be angry? You did a good job scolding her; you woke her up!"
"You have no idea how worried your brother-in-law and I were when we found out that An Ran was entangled with Jiang Changyi again."
"No matter what I said, it was no use. It was as if Jiang Changyi had given her a love potion. She was willing to give up her parents' future for him."
At this point, An Xin couldn't help but sigh, but she quickly smiled again, "Now it's all right. After coming back from your house, she's come to terms with it and has completely broken up with Jiang Changyi."
After hanging up the phone, Anjie finally breathed a sigh of relief. No matter what, as long as her sisterly bond with Anxin remained unchanged, that was enough.
After staying at home for half a month, Jiang Weidong and Lin Wangshu packed their things and left Songshan Island.
Before leaving, Dehua felt sorry for Jiang Weidong, who had lost so much weight, so he steamed a pot of buns for them to eat slowly in the refrigerator when they got home.
Dehua's skill in making steamed buns is exceptional, and Jiang Weidong loves this dish the most.
After returning home, with no one to supervise her, Lin Wangshu often slept until late morning. Just as she was brushing her teeth with her eyes half-closed, she saw Jiang Weidong looking at her with great interest, holding a piece of paper.
"Little Moon, the love poem I promised to write for you is finished!"
Lin Wangshu blinked in confusion, surprised that he still remembered, so she nodded and said, "Okay, you can read it."
Jiang Weidong straightened up, cleared his throat, and recited aloud: "A bright moon shines on my heart, and my heart is truly filled with sorrow."
"If I marry a wife who is gentle and delicate, I'm afraid she might one day fall to the sky."
After he finished reading it, he asked expectantly, "How was it? Did you like it?"
Lin Wangshu was stunned. She opened her mouth to say something, but forgot about the toothpaste foam in her mouth and choked, gagging.
Seeing this, Jiang Weidong quickly patted her back and joked, "Is it that bad? It's making you want to throw up."
Lin Wangshu was so nauseous she couldn't speak, but she waved her hand at him to indicate that she wasn't vomiting because of his poem.
After calming down, Lin Wangshu barely managed to suppress her laughter and gave Jiang Weidong a thumbs up, praising, "Not bad, really not bad, but there's still a lot of room for improvement."
Then, he tentatively asked, "What does that last sentence mean?"
Jiang Weidong brought her steamed buns and porridge, explaining, "It's to praise your beauty as if you were a fairy, and to express my fear that one day you might fly to the moon like Chang'e, leaving me all alone on earth."
At this point, his ears turned red, and he said embarrassedly, "I didn't use the last word very well in order to make it rhyme."
After hearing his explanation, Lin Wangshu pinched her fingertips tightly to suppress her laughter, and said with a serious expression, "No, I think it works very well!"
Jiang Weidong smiled and pushed the steamed bun towards her, "Then I'll write another one for you later."
Lin Wangshu nodded, broke open the bun and was about to put it in her mouth when she smelled a greasy smell that made her want to vomit.
He hurriedly put down the bun in his hand, turned his head away, and gagged a few times while covering his mouth.
Jiang Weidong frowned and came over to pat her back, saying worriedly, "Why are you gagging so much today? Are you sick? I'll take you to the hospital to get checked out."
Lin Wangshu felt much better after not smelling the meat buns. She shook her head and said, "No need. It's probably because my stomach is empty that I feel uncomfortable when I smell meat."
"Then you drink the porridge, I'll take the steamed buns away." After seeing that she was indeed alright, Jiang Weidong took the steamed buns back to the kitchen.
Lin Wangshu smelled the porridge and, seeing that she didn't feel nauseous, took a sip with peace of mind.
After Jiang Weidong came out of the kitchen, he picked up a piece of shredded potato with his chopsticks. "By the way, Zheng Jianhua just called. He said he's coming to Qingdao for a meeting and will stop by our house while he's at it."
“Okay, I’ll cook for him myself and treat him well. He helped you a lot before, since he was so kind to you.” Lin Wangshu nodded and said.
Jiang Weidong hesitated for a moment, then said, "Let's take him out to eat. Don't do it, it's too tiring."
Lin Wangshu listened with a smile, thinking, "What's so tiring about cooking a meal?"
But then the phone rang. Lin Wangshu swallowed her words and answered it. All she heard was Yafei's wail: "Big sister, help!"
Hearing her shrill voice, Lin Wangshu couldn't help but rub her ears and said with amusement, "Who did you upset this time, Dad or Mom?"
"What?! It wasn't me this time, it was those two who colluded!" Yafei cried out to Lin Wangshu, clearly aggrieved.
Recalling what she had experienced these past few days, Yafei complained, "You have no idea how materialistic Mom has become."
"She somehow found a 'hungry' director. She thought he had a bright future, so she kept bringing him home."
"She even went so far as to fake being sick just to trick me into coming home to see her. Don't you think that's going too far?!"
