The man looked at He Tiantian standing at the door, said nothing, and threw the dead bird in his hand to her.
He Tiantian was startled. Her hospital gown was stained with the bird's blood. The nurse stopped in her tracks. "Number 013, are you alright? I'll take you to change your clothes."
Number 013? He Tiantian repeated this to herself. Was this her code? Shouldn't a patient address her like that?
With a sense of doubt, she followed the nurse to the laundry room. The nurse carefully helped her take off her clothes and then gave her a new one to change into.
