"Let's go to a restaurant today, I'm craving seafood." He Tiantian really wanted to eat seafood at the restaurant today, especially the giant prawns.
"Let's go."
As Shen Yizhou walked ahead, he thought to himself, "I have to go find Lao Gao and his gang today. They got drunk yesterday. Drinking really makes things worse."
There were already people eating in the restaurant, and they weren't the first to arrive. He Tiantian chose a seat by the window, and a waiter came over with a menu. "Hello, what would you two like to order?"
He Tiantian selected some of her favorite seafood and a plate of sea urchin fried rice—she absolutely couldn't miss it! She'd been craving it for two days.
The waiter quickly brought out all the dishes, and He Tiantian diligently ate, finding the seafood especially delicious today.
Shen Yizhou ate only a few bites before losing his appetite. He was still hungover from yesterday and had no appetite for anything. He stared out the window in a daze and suddenly saw Lao Gao and his gang on the beach. They had surrounded A Zhe.
Shen Yizhou got up and walked out. He Tiantian was a little surprised to see his departing figure. She followed his back and saw him walking quickly to the beach. Only then did He Tiantian see Lao Gao and his gang pushing A Zhe to the ground.
She had just stood up to follow when she suddenly realized she didn't have any money to pay! After thinking for half a minute, she sat down again.
Shen Yizhou stepped forward, pushed Lao Gao aside, and pulled A Zhe up from the ground.
"Brother Zhou, Brother Zhou, save me!" As if seeing a glimmer of hope, A Zhe knelt on the ground and grabbed Shen Yizhou's trouser leg.
"Wang Ze, you think you can run away? Let's see where you can run to. Brother, I advise you to mind your own business and get lost."
"Old Gao, stop wasting time talking to them, let's just fight them all together."
Old Gao spat on the beach, looked contemptuously at Shen Yizhou and A Zhe on the ground, and then punched Shen Yizhou.
Shen Yizhou dodged and punched him in the stomach with his backhand. Old Gao took two steps back and looked at Shen Yizhou in shock.
"Damn it, you guys go get him!" Old Gao roared at the men next to him.
Only then did they realize what was happening, and they all rushed onto Chen Yizhou. Seeing this, A Zhe suddenly got up from the ground and threw his backpack at them.
Two of them were knocked down by A Zhe's backpack. The other two were stunned for a moment, then rushed towards them again. Shen Yizhou stopped and pushed A Zhe behind him. Just as he was about to fight them head-on, Brother Yong arrived with his men.
He Tiantian followed behind Yong Ge, "Yong Ge, Yong Ge, it's these bastards! They threatened to beat my boyfriend to death!"
"Damn it, let's see who dares to touch my brother-in-law!" Brother Yong shouted at the few thugs.
When Lao Gao saw He Tiantian arrive with her entourage, he turned and ran, ignoring his brothers. The men were so intimidated by Yong Ge's imposing manner that they sat down on the ground. Lao Liu stepped forward and grabbed one of them by the collar, "What do you want with my brother-in-law? Come and tell me!"
"Old Yang! Take them all to the side where you can lie down and win."
Upon hearing Yong Ge's words, the man named Lao Yang helped Lao Liu pick up the few kids on the ground.
The group was dragged to beach chairs and made to squat on the ground, awaiting Brother Yong's judgment.
Ah Zhe was terrified when he saw the four older men in front of him. This was the first time he had encountered such people from the underworld. He had always followed Qin Zeyu before, and with his wealthy family, he had never been bullied.
"Sister, brother-in-law, what do you want to do with these brats?"
Yong Ge lit a cigarette, sat on the recliner, and looked at the five young men squatting on the ground. They covered their heads with their hands and didn't dare to utter a sound.
"Brother Yong, we want to ask them some questions, can you give us some space?" He Tiantian said with a smile, giving Brother Yong a shoulder massage.
"No problem! We'll wait at the store entrance. Just yell 'Brother Ha' if anything happens."
Yong Ge took Lao Liu, Lao Yang, and Xiao Zhang to the store to buy things, and now only Shen Yizhou, A Zhe, and the five people squatting on the ground are left.
Shen Yizhou walked up to them and squatted down. "Tell me, what's going on between Lao Gao and Tian Leyu?"
For several days, they reacted as if they had seen a ghost whenever they heard Tian Leyu's name. One of them mustered up the courage to say, "You...you should ask A-Zhe, he knows more!"
A Zhe lowered his head in shame, looking at his bare feet without daring to say a word.
“I’m asking you questions. Don’t pass the buck to him. Tell me everything you know and I’ll let you go.”
Shen Yizhou sat on the recliner, took out a cigarette case from his pocket, lit one, exhaled a puff of smoke, looked at the people on the ground, and rubbed his temples in exasperation.
The group of people would steal glances at He Tiantian from time to time, then at Shen Yizhou. The young man who had just spoken stood up and tugged at his clothes. "I'll tell you everything, but you have to come over here and talk to me."
"No! Xiao Yi! You'll get killed by Lao Gao!"
Xiao Yi turned around and looked at the person who spoke. "Brother Ran, you've taken the best care of me here. Thank you."
Shen Yizhou got up, grabbed Xiao Yi by the collar, and walked to the side.
He Tiantian sat on the recliner, looking at these people with a fierce expression, while A Zhe lowered his head even further beside her.
Xiao Yi stopped beside the reef. "Big brother, I will tell you everything I know, but you must let us go."
"I mean what I say, don't worry." Shen Yizhou took out a cigarette and handed it to Xiao Yi.
Xiao Yi took it, took out a lighter from his pocket, lit it, and then fell into a reverie.
“A Zhe is from the same village as us. His parents divorced when he was very young, and his father took him to the city. That’s where he met Qin Zeyu. When he grew up, A Zhe would bring us a lot of gifts every time he came back. Lao Gao was a little jealous and he also kept saying that he wanted to go to the city.”
