Chapter 87 Dimples
“Knock, knock, knock…”
Late at night, there was a gentle knock on Chu Yanxing's bedroom door, accompanied by a hesitant rhythm.
Chu Yanxing was not actually asleep. He closed his eyes, his lips rising and falling, waiting for Yu Che's next move.
There was silence outside the door for a few seconds, and then the sound of the doorknob being turned was heard.
The door opened a crack, and a figure, holding a pillow, slipped in barefoot, then carefully closed the door behind him.
Yu Che inched his way to the bedside. A faint moonlight streamed down the windowsill, outlining Chu Yanxing's sleeping face. His eyes were closed, and his breathing was even.
After hesitating for a moment, he bent down, got close to Chu Yanxing's face, and shouted in a breathy voice:
"Chu Yanxing..."
The person on the bed showed no reaction.
Yu Che didn't give up and raised his voice a little: "Chu Yanxing?"
There was still only the sound of steady breathing.
Yu Che pursed his lips, as if he had made up his mind. He stretched out his finger and poked Chu Yanxing's shoulder: "Chu Yanxing!"
Chu Yanxing, who had been pretending to be asleep, finally couldn't stand it anymore. He slowly opened his eyes, with a hint of impatience at being woken up:
"……What's wrong?"
Yu Che hugged the pillow, moved closer, and said pitifully, "I want to sleep with you."
"No, go back to your room and sleep." Chu Yanxing refused bluntly.
"But I can't sleep." Yu Che lowered his voice, but spoke with conviction. "Poor sleep will affect recovery. The doctor said so."
Chu Yanxing was both angry and amused, propping himself up halfway and asking, "You've even forgotten your own name, and you still remember this?"
Yu Che looked innocent as he placed the pillow on the empty space next to Chu Yanxing and promised solemnly:
"I'll just take up a little space and promise not to move around, okay?"
Chu Yanxing looked at his well-prepared posture and was silent for a few seconds. Finally, as if he could not resist the sleepiness, he lay back down.
“…Come up.”
Yu Che's eyes lit up, and he climbed onto the bed happily, lying down properly next to Chu Yanxing, with his hands folded on his lower abdomen to prove that he really "only took up a little space" and was "well-behaved."
Chu Yanxing glanced at him sideways in the darkness, curled the corners of his lips silently, closed his eyes again, and soon fell into a deep sleep.
Feeling the reassuring warmth and steady breathing around him, Yu Che's tense nerves gradually relaxed, sleepiness came over him, and he fell into a dream.
The next morning, Chu Yanxing woke up with a slight feeling of suffocation.
He opened his eyes and found Yu Che lying on top of him like an octopus.
His head was resting on my chest, his mouth was squeezed into a pout, and there was a hint of light at the corners of his lips. He was sleeping soundly.
Chu Yanxing didn't feel disgusted, but just moved helplessly, trying to remove the human-shaped pendant on his body.
During the movement, Yu Che was also woken up. With sleepy eyes, he mumbled, "Chu Yanxing, good morning..."
Chu Yanxing's heart softened, and he couldn't help but ruffle Yu Che's hair: "I'll go wash up first."
After breakfast, Chu Yanxing changed into a neat suit and prepared to go to the company.
I worked from home yesterday to take care of Yu Che, but today I have an important client and I have to go over.
As soon as he reached the entrance, Yu Che followed him, hugged his waist, buried his face in his chest, and his voice was muffled in his clothes:
"Is it okay not to go?"
Chu Yanxing pulled Yu Che away. At this moment, his eyes were red with two tears welling up in them. He felt extremely aggrieved.
"Don't be willful. I've done whatever you said before. Just have a good rest at home." Chu Yanxing said coldly.
Seeing that this trick didn't work, Yu Che's eyes rolled, and he suddenly raised his hand to support his forehead, his voice becoming weak:
"I, I feel dizzy..."
The sea of consciousness is damaged, and any discomfort in the brain needs to be taken seriously. Chu Yanxing didn't think much about it and immediately supported him, frowning:
"Is it serious? Should we call a doctor?"
Yu Che leaned against him and whispered, "No, it won't hurt if you stay home."
Chu Yanxing looked at Yu Che's expression carefully, and his evasive eyes did not escape his eyes after all.
I couldn't help but laugh in my heart. I really wanted to record this and show it to this guy when his memory recovered.
But on the surface, Chu Yanxing was stunned for a moment, and then he put on an expression that was full of anger and laughter:
"Oh, there's quite a bit of drama... Let me tell you in advance, no talking nonsense when you get to the company, and you have to follow me wherever I go."
Yu Che looked up, his eyes sparkling, not even a hint of dizziness left: "Okay!"
"Get in the car." Chu Yanxing said coldly.
Chu Group headquarters building.
The receptionist saw Chu Yanxing and stood up to greet him respectfully, "Good morning, Mr. Chu!"
The next second, her eyes were attracted by the little tail behind the president.
The boy in front of me was not very old. He was wearing a simple sweatshirt and trousers. He was tall and had long legs, but his face had no expression and seemed a little cold.
The receptionist's gaze suddenly became hot - it was a handsome guy!
Yu Che felt uncomfortable being stared at by her and hid completely behind Chu Yanxing.
Chu Yanxing seemed unaware and walked straight towards the CEO's exclusive elevator. Yu Che immediately jogged after him.
The elevator goes directly to the top floor.
This entire floor is the work area for the group's core management personnel and the president's office. Those who can be here are all Chu Yanxing's confidants or the backbone elites of the Chu family.
When they walked out of the elevator, the originally busy subordinates suddenly became quiet.
Yu Che felt everyone's gaze, pursed his lips even tighter, lowered his head, and almost touched Chu Yanxing's back.
Chu Yanxing walked straight towards the innermost president's office without looking around, opened the door and went in.
Yu Che slipped in and followed, blocking out all the gazes and whispers.
"Oh my god! Who is that?"
“I haven’t seen it.”
"You look so young, relative?"
"It shouldn't be. We've all seen photos of the core members of the Chu family. As for the side members, it's not necessary for President Chu to bring them to the office in person."
"And did you see that? He's following Mr. Chu so closely. Isn't he afraid that Mr. Chu will give off a cold shoulder at any time?"
"Hey, could it be my boyfriend?" Someone lowered his voice and made a bold guess.
"Shh! Stop talking nonsense! Don't you want to do it anymore?"
The subordinates outside had different opinions but could not reach a conclusion.
Inside the office, Yu Che leaned against the door, patted his chest, breathed a sigh of relief, and looked like he had survived a disaster.
Chu Yanxing took off his suit jacket and hung it up, then glanced at him and said, "If you're not used to it, I'll ask the driver to take you back."
"don't want."
Yu Che quickly walked to the leather chair opposite the desk used for receiving clients and sat down, spreading his legs to show that he had taken over this territory.
Seeing this, Chu Yanxing said nothing more and sat down in front of the boss's chair: "Then just stay here and don't disturb me while I'm working."
Yu Che nodded vigorously, sat upright, placed his hands on his knees, and tried his best to play the role of a quiet background.
Time passes by little by little.
The office was completely silent, with only the sounds of Chu Yanxing flipping through documents, typing on the keyboard, and occasionally answering the internal call.
Yu Che's initial upright sitting posture gradually became untenable.
He first rested his chin on the table, staring blankly at Chu Yanxing's face as he worked.
Later, I found myself leaning my entire upper body on the desk, my chin resting on my folded arms, and my eyelids began to droop.
In addition to being bored, another aspect is that repairing spiritual consciousness requires a lot of energy, which causes Yu Che to always feel sleepy.
…
It was not known who was accompanying whom, but after a day's work, Yu Che returned to the mansion at night and once again slipped into Chu Yanxing's bedroom very naturally and climbed onto the bed. This time he didn't need to bring his own pillow.
Chu Yanxing looked at his extremely skillful movements, wanting to say something but stopping himself, and finally acquiesced.
This absurd way of getting along actually continued like this.
until……
Ten days later.
Yu Che felt like he had had a long and bizarre dream.
In the dream, he was like a mentally retarded child, staying at Chu Yanxing's house, following him everywhere, and even sleeping in the same bed with him?!
This is horrible! How is this possible! How could he do that to Chu Yanxing?
He was awakened by this absurd and terrifying dream and opened his eyes suddenly.
What came into view was Chu Yanxing's sleeping face close at hand, with fine hairs clearly visible in the morning light.
And just like in the dream, I was lying on top of the other person!
Yu Che: Huh? Huh? Huh?
A surge of hot blood instantly rushed to his head. The next second, he tumbled off Chu Yanxing in a panic.
Yu Che fell onto the soft carpet beside the bed and looked around in horror.
A strange, yet strangely familiar bedroom...
This is clearly the room in the dream!
Yu Che pinched his arm in disbelief.
"hiss--"
He looked up again, his eyes sweeping across every detail of the room, finally falling back on Chu Yanxing's handsome face.
The fragments of memories from the past ten days were pieced together again, and those ignorant, clingy, and even spoiled and naughty scenes replayed in my mind frame by frame.
The color drained from Yu Che's face, then suddenly turned red again.
That’s not a dream!
His eyes widened, and he swallowed hard, trying to digest all this...
No!! I can’t digest it at all!
What have you done?!
Yu Che roared inwardly, and crawled out of the bedroom, not forgetting to close the door.
Chu Yanxing was awakened by an inexplicable noise.
He opened his eyes, but his consciousness had not yet fully returned. He felt that something seemed different this morning.
I felt much more relaxed and my breathing was much smoother.
He turned his head and looked at the empty space beside him. The pillow still had dents and the warmth of being warmed up.
That sound just now...was that the door closing?
Chu Yanxing sat up, rubbed his eyebrows, and glanced across the room.
On the carpet beside the bed, a pair of slippers belonging to Yu Che were lying there alone, still in the posture of being accidentally kicked away.
The man ran away without wearing shoes.
Chu Yanxing was slightly startled, then the corners of his lips rose, and a hint of understanding flashed in his eyes.
Counting the days since Yu Che's sea of consciousness was damaged, it's almost time for him to recover his memory.
Chu Yanxing could almost imagine how devastated Yu Che was at this moment.
He slowly lifted the quilt and got out of bed, washed up and changed his clothes.
Well, it’s time to give some “comfort” to this person who fled.
Chu Yanxing came to the living room and saw Yu Che slumped on the sofa like a puppet with all its soul sucked out.
His eyes were fixed on the ceiling, and he exuded an air of despair.
Hearing the footsteps, Yu Che's body stiffened slightly. Chu Yanxing walked past him, his tone unrecognizable as either joy or anger:
"Let's go have breakfast first."
After saying that, he walked towards the restaurant first without looking back.
As if hearing a summons before trial, Yu Che stood up from the sofa resignedly and followed Chu Yanxing with his head down.
An exquisite breakfast was laid out on the table. Yu Che mechanically sat down next to Chu Yanxing.
He felt very uncomfortable. He picked up the spoon, but his throat felt tight and he had no appetite.
Yu Che didn't dare to look up the whole time, his eyes fixed on the pumpkin porridge in front of him, as if he could see flowers in it.
Chu Yanxing took a sip of soy milk, glanced at him, and said lightly: "Have you recovered your memory?"
Yu Che hunched his shoulders, lowered his head even lower, and replied in a mosquito-like voice, "Yeah."
"Your counselor called your cell phone a couple of days ago, and I asked for leave on your behalf."
Chu Yanxing pondered and talked about some less important things first, trying to make Yu Che relax.
Yu Che raised his head with difficulty, his eyes flickering, not daring to meet Chu Yanxing's gaze: "Thank you, Mr. Chu."
After much hesitation, he finally reverted to his original polite yet distant address.
As soon as the words came out, the air between them seemed to freeze.
After a few seconds of silence, Chu Yanxing suddenly chuckled, leaned back in his chair, and raised his chin: "Do you know how to be polite now?"
Yu Che understood this as sarcasm and was immediately filled with shame. He stood up and bowed to Chu Yanxing:
"I'm so sorry for causing you so much trouble! I, I..."
After saying "I" for a long time, Yu Che didn't know how to make up for his crazy behavior during this period. He was so anxious that he wanted to cry but had no tears.
Chu Yanxing tapped the table with his fingertips, his tone unquestionable and calm: "Sit down."
Yu Che hesitated for a moment, then slowly sat back in his chair, clutching his knees nervously, like a primary school student waiting to be lectured.
"You have indeed caused me a lot of trouble in the past ten days." Chu Yanxing stated the facts objectively.
Yu Che lowered his head again, his ears turning red.
"However," Chu Yanxing changed the subject, "you chose to ask me for help, and I didn't throw you out to fend for yourself, which proves that things weren't that bad. At least, you survived, didn't you?"
He said this lightly, even with a hint of sarcasm.
Yu Che raised his head and met a pair of eyes as calm as a lake, from which he could forcibly glimpse a hint of tolerance.
His heart suddenly calmed down. He stroked the back of his neck and said with a dry laugh, "...Yes, Mr. Chu."
Chu Yanxing's eyes flashed, and he opened his lips and said, "We've been sleeping in the same bed for so long, and you still call me Mr. Chu?"
His expression was calm when he spoke, as if these shocking words did not come from his mouth.
Yu Che was stunned, as if his throat was being strangled. He opened his mouth for a long time but couldn't utter a word, and his face showed signs of turning red again.
"I think we are friends now, so a joke is not too much, right?"
Chu Yanxing, who always remained aloof, blinked. This was the first time he showed any less serious emotions in front of Yu Che.
Yu Che's brain, which had just recovered, completely shut down again due to this sudden change, and he stared at Chu Yanxing in a daze.
Seeing this, Chu Yanxing leaned forward, stared at Yu Che, and asked seriously, "Is it too much?"
"Not too much, not too much." Meeting Chu Yanxing's gaze, Yu Che woke up as if from a dream and responded quickly.
Hearing this, Chu Yanxing smiled, as if he had received a satisfactory answer, and then asked:
"Since we're friends, don't call me Mr. Chu." A hint of mischief flashed across his eyes. "Do you want to call me by my full name like before, or do you want to call me Brother Chu?"
Listening to Chu Yanxing's words with implicit joking, Yu Che smiled awkwardly. Suddenly, he was stunned again, staring at a certain spot on Chu Yanxing's cheek in a daze.
"What's wrong?" Chu Yanxing calmed down a little and asked in confusion.
It was the first time that Yu Che saw Chu Yanxing smile so obviously. He said embarrassedly:
"No, I just noticed that Brother Chu also has dimples."
If someone is doing you a favor, you can't be too arrogant, so of course you choose the latter as the title.
Ever since the word "dimple" appeared, Chu Yanxing raised his eyebrows and gave Yu Che a meaningful look.
Noticing Chu Yanxing's subtle reaction, Yu Che realized belatedly, what's the big deal? Lin Xingyan has dimples, so why can't others have them too?
He scratched his face to cover up, and the scene became one-sided and awkward.
As if not minding Yu Che's fuss, Chu Yanxing smiled again, his eyes blazing:
"Does it look good?"
This rare smile was so radiant that Yu Che's heartbeat inexplicably quickened, and he answered honestly.
"Uh... sure."
To be fair, although Chu Yanxing gives people a cold impression, once he smiles, his dimples are not abrupt, but instead add a unique temperament.
It was like a hard ice brick turning into a sweet smoothie, and the affinity increased greatly. At this time, it was discovered that Chu Yanxing’s age... was not that old.
Chu Yanxing was satisfied and turned to the next topic: "After breakfast, I'll have the driver take you back to school."
"Thank you, Brother Chu." Yu Che hurriedly thanked him, and this time there was a little more intimacy in his tone.
The days of getting along together finally left a mark in his heart. Chu Yanxing's current relaxation gradually overlapped with his previous indulgence, and Yu Che felt a natural sense of closeness to him.
