Chapter 17 Meeting Kexin

Lin Sinan stood in front of the gate of the talent market and sighed deeply.

This was the third consecutive morning that he had been looking for a job, but he still hadn't found one that was truly suitable for him.

At this moment, the pride in his heart had been shattered by reality. Looking at the people coming and going, everyone seemed to have his own direction and goal.

But he felt like a lonely traveler lost in this vast sea of people, and a sense of discouragement welled up in his heart.

It was almost noon. When Lin Sinan returned home, he lay tiredly on the sofa, thinking about his experiences in the job market over the past two days.

The interviewers' indifferent expressions and perfunctory attitudes made him feel as if he was a person forgotten by the world.

He began to doubt his abilities, wondering if he was not good enough to find an ideal job.

Just as he was lost in thought, the phone rang. He looked down at the number. It was his mother.

When he picked up the phone, his mother told him that his father could be discharged from the hospital and asked him if he had time to come to the hospital to pick him up.

Lin Sinan suddenly perked up, stood up, packed up his things, and rushed to the hospital.

In the hospital, Lin Sinan saw that his mother had packed her luggage and was sitting by the bed waiting for him.

Dad's face was filled with smiles, and when he saw Lin Sinan come in, his eyes were full of relief.

Lin Sinan walked forward and held his father's hand tightly, his heart filled with guilt. He had not taken good care of his sick father during this period of time.

He turned around and looked for his mother, but couldn't find her, so he asked, "Where is my mother?"

Before he finished speaking, my mother and Aunt Jiang walked into the ward together.

Lin Sinan turned his head and glanced at Aunt Jiang. She was still as gentle and intellectual as ever, and the white coat she wore couldn't hide her graceful figure.

Lin Sinan originally wanted to rush up and hug Aunt Jiang, but considering that his parents were right next to him, he suppressed the desire in his heart.

Aunt Jiang told my mother one by one what she needed to pay attention to, and also noted the usage and dosage of the medicine my father would need to take after being discharged from the hospital. Finally, she left her phone number for my mother before turning around and going to other wards.

Lin Sinan's family of three were waiting for the elevator with their bags full of things. A burst of hurried footsteps sounded. Nannan and Lin Sinan turned around and saw Aunt Jiang rushing over.

I almost forgot, this is a letter Ke Xin wrote to you, asking me to pass it to you. If you have anything to say, you two can just talk on the phone, why write a letter.

Aunt Jiang shook her head and handed over a letter. Lin Sinan took the letter and was about to say something when there was a ding sound and the elevator arrived.

"Call me later," Lin Sinan and his family of three waved goodbye to Aunt Jiang.

At the hospital gate, Lin Sinan's family of three took a taxi back to Lin Sinan's parents' home. Although they hadn't been home for a long time, the house was still clean and tidy.

After settling Dad down, Mom went to buy groceries to prepare lunch. Lin Sinan sat on the sofa in the living room and read the letter Kexin wrote to him.

Brother Sinan:

Long time no see. When you see this letter, I think I finally have the courage to say something.

We have spent so many wonderful times together, and those memories are deeply engraved in my heart. But now, we have each taken different paths in life.

I'm really happy to know that you're married and have a happy family with lovely children, but there are some things I still want you to know.

The friendship between us, my childhood sweetheart, has always been very precious to me. Even though time has passed, it has never faded.

A complex emotion surged in Nan's heart, and scenes of playing with Kexin when they were young seemed to flash before his eyes, full of laughter and innocence.

Lin Sinan lamented the passing of time and was touched by Kexin's honesty.

But don't worry, I won't do anything to destroy your family. I just want to tell you what's in my heart.

When you are tired and exhausted and want to find someone to talk to, please remember me, I am always here.

I hope we can all cherish everything we have now, and I hope our friendship can continue forever.

Lin Sinan finished reading the letter, feeling a mixture of emotions. He sighed softly and carefully folded the letter and put it away. He knew that he and Kexin had a special bond, but he also knew his responsibilities and boundaries.

At this time, my mother came out of the kitchen and saw Lin Sinan looking thoughtful. She smiled and said, "What are you thinking about, son?"

Lin Sinan came back to his senses, sorted out his thoughts silently in his heart, then forced a smile and said to his mother, "It's nothing, Mom.

"Then I got up and helped my mother prepare lunch, temporarily burying the complicated emotions in my heart.

After lunch, Dad went to take a nap, and Mom sat on the sofa with Lin Sinan and said, Nannan, don’t worry too much about work, Mom believes in your abilities.

There is no suitable one for now, because there are better ones waiting for you in the future. Lin Sinan nodded and said, "I see, Mom, you should go and have a rest too." Mom nodded and went into the house.

Lin Sinan sat quietly on the sofa, his eyes somewhat blank, his mind still immersed in Kexin's letter. After a while, as if driven by an inexplicable force, he took out his phone.

His fingers trembled slightly, and after hesitating for a moment, he dialed the phone number on the letter.

Every "beep-beep" from the phone seemed to strike at his heart. At this moment, the living room was very quiet. The sunlight filtered through the half-drawn curtains, casting a light strip on the floor. The dust in the air danced faintly in the light.

Lin Sinan's heart was in a state of great conflict. He didn't know why he had suddenly acted like this. He knew it might lead to some complicated situations, but he just couldn't control himself. He was looking forward to Ke Xin answering the call, but at the same time he was a little afraid of some unpredictable consequences.

As the phone continued to ring, Lin Sinan's heartbeat quickened, and a thin layer of sweat broke out on his forehead. Finally, a familiar yet somewhat unfamiliar voice came from the other end of the line: "Hello?"

The air around seemed to be frozen, and the occasional bird song outside the window made the atmosphere seem even more quiet and subtle.

Lin Sinan's throat suddenly became dry. He opened his mouth, but found that he didn't know what to say for a moment. After a brief silence, he said softly, "Kexin, it's me..."

Ke Xin seemed a little surprised on the other end of the phone, but she quickly regained her composure. Thus began their somewhat awkward yet somewhat emotional conversation.

Unconsciously, they talked about Lin Sinan's current predicament. Ke Xin hesitated for a moment and said, "Brother Sinan, why don't we meet and talk?"

Lin Sinan hesitated for a moment, nodded, and the two of them agreed to meet at a cafe not too far from the kindergarten.

Lin Sinan also didn't know where this meeting would lead their relationship...
