Chapter 4
Li Miao slumped onto the table in frustration after her first meeting with her roommate went wrong.
He buried his face in his arms, hunched over, his body limp as if he had no bones.
He quickly realized something was wrong.
Li Miao twitched his nose and smelled a faint fragrance. Looking up, he realized that his spot had been wiped clean, and there were still water stains on the table that hadn't completely dried.
Did his roommate wipe the table for him?
I don't know who helped him, whether it was the boy he accidentally punched in the chest, or one of his other roommates.
Regardless of who it is, judging from this small detail alone, at least one of the dormmates got along well.
Li Miao blinked her thick, curled eyelashes, her eyes brightening, and she suddenly felt much more confident.
Just as I thought that, the door to room 304 was pushed open from the outside.
Liang Yixuan and another roommate carried in a basin of water containing their freshly washed and wrung-out summer military training uniforms.
Upon seeing the last new roommate sitting down, Liang Yixuan and Li Hang greeted him warmly.
"Hello everyone \(^o^)/~" Li Miao composed herself and started afresh.
Upon seeing the boy's face clearly, Liang Yixuan froze for a moment, then exclaimed in surprise, "It's you!"
Meow Meow tilts its head in confusion.jpg
Li Miao blinked blankly, unable to recall ever interacting with the tall boy in front of him.
"Do you know me?" Li Miao asked gently.
"No, it's nothing." Seeing Li Hang's confusion, Liang Yixuan explained, "I don't know you, but I saw you at the school gate just now and I have a vague impression of you."
"It was just a one-time meeting, why would you remember me?" Li Miao sat with her legs together, her eyes unusually serious.
He has a refined and handsome appearance, with smooth, rounded cheeks and a touch of baby fat. He has a noble air about him, like a wealthy young master.
He asked blankly at that moment, his expression particularly innocent, like a little brother next door.
Liang Yixuan felt a sudden surge of tenderness at the sight of something adorable.
How can there be a boy who is this cute and innocent?
To my shame, he has a younger brother who is in junior high school.
That kid is tough. He hangs out with his friends all day, playing basketball and soccer, and he always smells bad. When he gets home at night, he always procrastinates and doesn't take a shower right away before lying on Liang Yixuan's bed, which really annoys Liang Yixuan.
Now, when he encounters a little boy who is so different from his own younger brother and is a completely well-behaved boy, Liang Yixuan doesn't dare to speak too loudly, lest he scare him.
"Haha, there's no special reason, it's just because you're handsome. I remembered you after just one look, Li Hang, right?" Liang Yixuan asked with a smile.
Li Hang didn't hesitate: "He is very handsome."
He genuinely felt that his last roommate was so handsome it was outrageous, and it was normal for him to leave a deep impression.
Li Miao blushed a little embarrassed by her roommate's straightforward praise.
Seeing him blush, Liang Yixuan was even more surprised.
Goodness, this good boy is so easily embarrassed and blushes.
He couldn't wait to tell Pei Huai about his last roommate.
What a coincidence! What a coincidence!
“Sigh…” Li Hang suddenly let out a heavy sigh.
"Why are you sighing?" Liang Yixuan put down the basin in his hand and asked casually.
Li Hang looked dejected, his tone almost accusing: "What kind of luck do I have? All three of you have won the genetic lottery, and I'm the only one with an ordinary, unremarkable face?"
"I can already imagine the miserable four years I will spend alone in the future."
"Hahaha~" Liang Yixuan laughed out loud without any restraint, patting Li Hang on the shoulder: "Don't be discouraged, I believe you will definitely find a partner."
Li Hang reluctantly accepted reality and said, "Thank you for your kind words."
Li Miao observed the two of them, and judging from her keen animal instincts, the new roommates seemed to have very good personalities.
This greatly relieved Li Miao's tension.
He asked who had helped wipe his table so clean.
Liang Yixuan typed rapidly, sending a message to Pei Huai: "Holy crap, guess who our last roommate is!"
“Pei Huai wiped it off casually,” Liang Yixuan said as he typed.
"He's not here right now. Oh, and I haven't told you our names yet. My name is Liang Yixuan, and his name is Li Hang. The person who helped you wipe the table is my high school classmate and best friend, Pei Huai."
"You haven't seen him yet, have you? He went downstairs to buy something, he'll probably be back in a few minutes."
Li Miao nodded hurriedly: "I see, but I just saw... Pei Huai. I just arrived when he left."
"Oh, I see," Liang Yixuan said.
Li Hang hung up his own military training uniform and also helped Liang Yixuan hang it up.
"I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Li Miao."
"Li Miao?" Liang Yixuan deliberately made a funny cat-like meow: "Meow? Kitten? Your name is quite cute."
"..."
Li Miao's throat tightened, and she was drenched in sweat.
"Hehehe, why would you think that?"
"How could I possibly be a cat?" Li Miao laughed it off, "My Miao is composed of three water radicals."
"Oh, that's the character. Now I know." As soon as Liang Yixuan found out, he sent Li Miao's name to his good friend.
[Turns out your formidable rival for the title of Peking University's most handsome guy is named Li Miao]
His name is as cute as his face!
Are you still at the supermarket? If you haven't left, could you bring me a few ice creams? It's so hot, and the air conditioning isn't working today.
After selecting some daily necessities and buying water, Pei Huai received a message and replied with an "Mm".
He immediately turned around and went to the freezer outside the store to get a few ice creams.
While queuing to pay, Pei Huai couldn't help but think of his new roommate's face.
His name was Li Miao.

In the dormitory, Li Hang noticed that Li Miao hadn't washed his military training clothes yet, so he told him to wash them first, lest the thick fabric of the military training pants prevent them from drying in time for the next two days of training.
"Mmm!" Having received valuable advice from her human roommate, Li Miao obediently followed it.
I took out my military training clothes and prepared to wash them.
He didn't have a basin, so Liang Yixuan offered to lend it to him.
"Are you going to wash by hand?" Liang Yixuan asked as he saw the obedient boy taking over the sink.
"If you don't wash it with water... then how do you wash it?" Li Miao asked sincerely, tilting her head slightly.
"There's a washing machine in the downstairs apartment. You can just swipe your card to wash your clothes. Or you can wait for Pei Huai to come up. His clothes haven't been washed yet, so you can all go downstairs together and wash them later."
"A washing machine?" Li Miao asked curiously.
As a cat, Li Miao and her grandmother don't need to do laundry; they come with a simple set of everyday clothes after transforming into human form.
Miaomiao needs a small blanket in winter, and occasionally the blanket needs to be washed. Grandma and Limiao wash those little chores by hand, and Limiao can take the opportunity to play with bubbles with her cat paws!
“Yes, is there a problem? Do you mind using the communal washing machine? Today is the first day, everyone is washing their military training clothes, it should be fine.” Liang Yixuan assumed that Li Miao, like Pei Huai, minded washing clothes together.
"N-nothing." Li Miao shook his head, his intuition telling him that it was inappropriate to continue asking about the washing machine.
Looking back, he remembered seeing a washing machine at his aunt's house in the same village; it must have been that big, buzzing thing.
Pei Huai returned from outside.
When he entered, Li Miao looked over at the sound.
Their eyes met.
Li Miao didn't know if Pei Huai was still sulking because of the time he punched her chest, and she looked at him expectantly.
Pei Huai: "?"
Is she trying to eat the ice cream he brought back?
"Daily necessities, water, and ice cream." Pei Huai took out the ice cream he had bought and distributed it to his roommates one by one.
Liang Yixuan and Li Hang accepted the gifts and thanked them very naturally.
The coolness traveled through the outer packaging to her soft palm, and Li Miao looked at the chocolate ice cream lying in her hand with surprise.
When she looked up at Pei Huai, her eyes sparkled, shining like jewels.
It seems Pei Huai didn't dislike him because of what just happened! Otherwise, he wouldn't have shared his ice cream with him.
Yay! I can get a discount on my phone and computer later with my roommates!
The more she thought about it, the happier she became, and even Li Miao's hidden cat tail couldn't help but wag.
Pei Huai looked puzzled as Li Miao stared at him with intensely fervent eyes.
Can eating an ice cream really make you this happy?
"Thank you," Li Miao said.
"It's nothing, I bought them all." Pei Huai sat back down in his seat, tore open the packaging, and ate the ice cream.
His seat was next to Li Miao.
Across from her was Liang Yixuan, and across from Li Miao was Li Hang.
Li Miao rarely eats ice cream, but she happily opened the packaging and licked the ice cream with her lips slightly parted. The chocolate coating on the outside of the ice cream slowly melted on the tip of her tongue.
The ice cream was cold, and Li Miao's tongue and lips turned slightly red from the cold.
It was too cold. Li Miao felt a chill run down her spine and paused for a few seconds before continuing to eat.
Pei Huai's peripheral vision was still fixed on Li Miao, and he saw very clearly the way Li Miao was eating ice cream.
"..."
Pei Huai looked away and bit off a corner of the ice cream in his hand.
***
The free time while eating ice cream is a great opportunity to get to know each other.
At the start of the semester, the new students haven't completely shed their identity as high school seniors.
Li Hang took the initiative to ask about the college entrance examination results, which made the atmosphere more relaxed.
Li Hang and Liang Yixuan were admitted to Peking University through the actual entrance exams.
The cut-off scores vary slightly from province to province, but the differences are not significant.
"And you, Pei Huai?" The moment Li Hang met Pei Huai, he sensed the unfathomable aura of a top student emanating from him.
Li Hang was curious because he had never seen Pei Huai on the list of top ten students in each province or the national champion.
Pei Huai parted his thin lips slightly and replied casually, "I didn't take the college entrance exam. I got in through a competition during the first semester of my senior year of high school."
"So that's how it is!" Li Hang suddenly realized, no wonder he had never heard of Pei Huai.
It turns out he was a big shot who was admitted to Peking University through early admission.
I bow down in reverence!

The atmosphere in dormitory 304 was relaxed, and everyone was chatting.
Gradually, Li Miao's vigilance relaxed.
He asked in a very innocent tone, "Competition? What's that?"
As soon as he finished speaking, three pairs of eyes turned to Li Miao.
The room suddenly became so quiet you could hear a pin drop.
The air was still, as if water could condense from it.
"..."
"…………"
Seeing everyone's gazes, Li Miao swallowed hard, then suddenly bristled, belatedly realizing what was happening.
It seems he accidentally said something wrong.
Curiosity killed meow! QAQ!
