Chapter 22
Li Miao was extremely embarrassed; how could she have dared to attack his private parts so soon?
Li Miao glared fiercely at Pei Huai, wanting to scold him without any restraint.
However, it's so late, it can't wake up its other two roommates.
All I could do was mutter curses in a low voice, clearly annoyed.
Li Miao bared her sharp teeth and bit down hard on Pei Huai's arm.
Apply a little force, administer a small punishment.
Pei Huai felt a slight tingling sensation in his arm, a tingling, numb feeling from the cat's bite, but it wasn't very painful.
He knew that he had upset the cat by touching its belly earlier.
The kitten's two meows were definitely an insult to him.
But those two rubs he just gave him were truly exciting and exhilarating.
How can such adorable creatures as cats exist in the world!
Pei Huai wanted nothing more than to shove the cat into his arms and kiss it.
But when you meet them for the first time, stay calm and don't scare the kitten.
Pei Huai's dark eyes held a tender smile as he continued to stroke the cat's fur gently, his hand still resting on the cat's back.
"Sweetie, don't be mad at me. You're so cute that I couldn't help but pet you," Pei Huai coaxed the cat in a very soft voice.
Anyway, since the cat couldn't understand him and there were no outsiders around, Pei Huai made no attempt to hide his feelings.
He even spoke in a high-pitched voice, as if afraid that his indifferent tone would make the kitten think that he didn't like it.
"Have you been hunting all these days? Thank you for the gift, I'm very happy."
Hearing that Pei Huai had sensed his feelings, Li Miao felt much better. He had originally wanted to complain about Pei Huai calling him "good baby," but after being distracted, Li Miao forgot about it.
Meow~ (You're welcome)
"Muaoma~ (Whatever makes you happy)"
The kitten's two soft, sweet cries were enough to melt Pei Huai's heart.
“Baby, you are so cute,” Pei Huai continued.
"Meow?!"
The cat's voice rose in pitch, as if it was unhappy with his nickname for the kitten.
Li Miao: It would be better to call her Mimi, what kind of baby is this?
He's an adult cat, a fully grown adult.
"But I can't eat the food you went through so much trouble to hunt. I appreciate your kindness and I'm very happy. Baby, you don't need to send me any more gifts."
“Mmm~ (Okay)” Li Miao replied lazily.
"Do you want to live with your brother? If you live with me, I can buy you whatever you want to eat, and you can have all kinds of toys."
“It’s not convenient to keep a cat at school, but I can rent a place nearby to take care of you. Do you want me to, hmm?” Pei Huai gently poked the kitten’s whiskers with his finger.
Pei Huai offered very favorable terms.
Li Miao couldn't help but be tempted. Making Pei Huai his servant was actually a good choice. It was rare to have a kitten that Pei Huai could cuddle and rub against. Wouldn't he spoil the kitten rotten?
If Li Miao weren't so busy that he couldn't simultaneously train as a human and enjoy being a cat, he would definitely have agreed.
He cannot be supported by Pei Huai.
Because he also has to attend classes, learn how to use mobile phones and computers, and work to earn money, he has too many things to do.
If I follow Pei Huai, I definitely won't have time to travel between the two places.
Li Miao shook her head: "Waaah~ (No)"
Pei Huai was surprised that the cat could understand him.
I'm confirming again that the cat shaking its head is not a coincidence.
"If you agree to let me take care of you, then shake your head."
"Meow~ (No)" Li Miao didn't react and shook her head again.
"Mimi, you shook your head. You promised me you'd take care of me." Pei Huai's upturned tone made his little scheme crystal clear.
I hugged the kitten and leaned in to give it a kiss.
Li Miao stared at the suddenly magnified facial features in front of her.
He's very handsome, but only if you don't kiss him!
I told you to pet me, and you lied to me again, taking advantage of the cat's low intelligence. Are you proud of that?! You dared to confuse him.
"Meow~! Meow~!"
Li Miao turned her head far away, not letting Pei Huai kiss her. She broke free from the boy's embrace, nimbly and easily jumped off the table, walked to the balcony, and looked up at the tightly closed window.
The cat's fluffy tail swayed lazily.
Under the cool moonlight, those luminous cat eyes, deep and mysterious, left a deep and lasting impression on Pei Huai's heart.
Pei Huai knew what the cat meant; it was leaving and was calling him to open the window.
"I'll let you go, but remember to come see me later."
"Meow~ (OK)" Li Miao readily agreed.
Anyway, it's more comfortable to be free and in his original form. He can turn into a cat every night when he goes to sleep, and occasionally take some time to visit Pei Huai. It's not a problem.
"It's dangerous to go through the window or climb the tree. Let's go through the front door. I'll carry you down."
Late at night, the dormitory building's main door can be opened from the inside.
Since they can't open the door from the outside, many college students who don't go home at night choose to stay in a hotel nearby. Otherwise, it would be more troublesome to ask the auntie to open the door, and if she does, she'll write down their names so that their counselor will know.
I originally planned to pretend to leave through the window, then walk back to lie down on the bed and sleep.
Li Miao, who was standing on the balcony, was picked up by Pei Huai and curled up in his arms.
Seeing Pei Huai turn around to open the dormitory door and walk downstairs through the main entrance.
Li Miao's eyes widened. She struggled to jump down from Pei Huai's arms and then ran lightly to the balcony.
Staring longingly out the window.
Seeing that Pei Huai was still standing there in a daze, Li Miao simply jumped onto the window and stood on the windowsill with difficulty, then slammed her paws heavily against the window.
"Meow!!! (Open it for me right now)" The cat's eyes stared unblinkingly at Pei Huai.
Pei Huai understood that the kitten was insisting that he open the window.
What an unconventional Mimi! She doesn't use the main entrance; she prefers to take the side roads.
Pei Huai opened the window.
The cat jumped onto the thick tree trunk and swished its tail.
"Remember to come see me again next time," Pei Huai reminded him worriedly.
Li Miao mumbled a soft "okay" in a low voice.
Pei Huai watched the cat's white silhouette disappear from sight before going back to bed.
Even as I lay down, my excitement was still hard to calm down.
He couldn't help but tell Li Miao about it immediately. He had seen the cat that gave him the gift that night, petted the cat, and even touched the cat's little belly. It was an unprecedented victory.
The moment he opened WeChat and saw the chat list, his dark eyes narrowed sharply.
My fingertips trembled as I zoomed in on Li Miao's profile picture in disbelief.
I was afraid that I might accidentally double-tap and end up patting the other person instead.
The enlarged portrait reveals more details.
Li Miao's profile picture is clearly that of the little kitten that just ran away!
They have round eyes and round faces, and are all intelligent. They have the same amount of long, creamy-white fur, and are the same breed.
Pei Huai wasn't sure if the pattern on his clothes matched.
It was too dark for Pei Huai to see Mimi clearly.
Previously, when Li Miao changed her profile picture, she asked him if the cat in the picture was the cutest.
He said yes, but Li Miao wasn't satisfied; he had to praise her as the cutest of all before he would be happy.
A bold idea formed in Pei Huai's mind.
Could this cat be Li Miao's pet, or a cat she knows very well?
Li Miao is close to cats and can speak cat language, so he made this plan to have the cat hunt for him as a gift, to express the cat's affection and fondness for him.
Every detail matches up.
Previously, he and his friends Liang Yixuan and Li Hang had all said that the dead rat was someone's prank.
Li Miao was the first to stand up and remind them of the wounds and scratches on the mouse, saying that the mouse's cat delivered a gift and that they should thank the cat.
Pei Huai couldn't help but glance across at the other side, a tender smile curving his lips. Li Miao was truly wonderful.
Meanwhile, Li Miao, who had turned back into a cat, had already climbed back up the tree and nestled in a spot on the trunk, looking out the window at room 304.
The light from Pei Huai's phone inside the curtain hadn't dimmed yet.
Li Miao cursed inwardly.
When will you finally put down your phone and go to sleep?
If you don't sleep, when can I go back, meow~!
...
I stayed up too late last night, and I stood outside the window for more than half an hour before I dared to tiptoe back to the dormitory.
After all that trouble...
Li Miao doesn't get enough sleep.
I have to get up early this morning to have breakfast before going to military training. Today is also the last day of military training.
"Good morning~" Liang Yixuan yawned as he got up.
Li Hang also sat up in bed and scratched his messy hair.
When Pei Huai woke up early in the morning, he told Liang Yixuan and Li Hang about how he stayed up all night waiting for his prey and how he bumped into the kitten he had stolen in the middle of the night.
Liang Yixuan and Li Hang were stunned.
Pei Huai kept saying how cute Mimi was, how amazing she was, how soft her fur was, and how chubby her little belly was, making her especially easy to pet.
As Liang Yixuan and Li Hang listened, they gradually calmed down and both felt that Pei Huai had just had a dream.
It wasn't until Pei Huai showed them the fat koi that the kitten had just caught the night before, and the two or three clumps of milky white cat fur on the table.
"Goodness, you actually ran into a cat that's not afraid of you? Why don't you just catch it and keep it as a pet?" Liang Yixuan said as he got out of bed.
Li Hang: "Exactly, why don't you just keep it as a pet? If you keep it in the dorm, we'll definitely keep it a secret for you."
Pei Huai: "That cat won't let me keep it, it probably already has an owner." He glanced casually at Li Miao's bed.
When everyone else is getting up, Li Miao is usually already up.
I don't know why I'm still sleeping in today.
"You have an owner who still sends you so many gifts and comes to play with you. This little kitten is quite the flirt," Liang Yixuan teased.
“What do you mean by ‘womanizer’?” Pei Huai frowned, strongly disagreeing, and slowly replaced it with a positive term: “It should be ‘philanthropy’.”
"Hehehehehehehe~" Liang Yixuan burst into laughter again.
And so, Li Miao was still not awake.
The three of them had almost finished getting ready, and if they didn't wake Li Miao up soon, they wouldn't have time to eat before they got to the playground.
Pei Huai remembered that Li Miao had said that he liked to sleep naked and didn't allow anyone to lift his bed curtains.
So Pei Huai called out to Li Miao to get up.
When Li Miao came back to sleep last night, he actually turned into a human, but he was too tired and fell asleep halfway through when he turned back into a kitten. His original form was more helpful in restoring his energy.
At this moment, there was only a cat curled up like a sweet little bread roll on Li Miao's bed.
The cat tucked its head into the folds of the blanket, barely hearing any sounds from the outside world.
Pei Huai raised his voice.
In her drowsy state, Li Miao nuzzled her ear against the thin blanket and meowed affectionately.
The sound was very soft and quiet, yet it made Pei Huai's feet freeze in place.
Is there a cat on Li Miao's bed?
Could it be that cat from last night, now back on Li Miao's bed, nestled in the boy's arms, the two of them embracing and sleeping soundly?
Just imagining the scene in his mind warmed Pei Huai's heart.
"Li Miao, get up, we're running late," Pei Huai called to her.
Li Miao's drowsy mind was barely awakened.
He opened his eyes and saw his own claws.
They slowly reverted back to being human.
Li Miao rubbed his eyes and lifted the bed curtains. His porcelain-white skin was still covered with dark circles. He greeted Pei Huai sleepily and said good morning.
Sitting on the bed with her legs bent, Li Miao was wearing a loose white T-shirt on top and no pants on the bottom.
Pei Huai looked away and said, "Okay, get up quickly."
“Okay…” Li Miao yawned listlessly.
When the bed curtains were lifted, Pei Huai scanned everything on Li Miao's bed, hoping to spot the kitten, but he couldn't find it.
Was that meow he just heard a hallucination?
Li Miao put on her pants on the bed, changed into a camouflage short-sleeved shirt, and slowly got out of bed.
Pei Huai, not giving up, tugged at the thin blanket, pretending to tidy up Li Miao's bed.
Actually, I wanted to see if the cat was hiding in a corner to avoid being seen.
Still not.
"Why are you making my bed?" Li Miao asked sleepily.
"It's nothing. Didn't you sleep well last night? You have dark circles under your eyes," Pei Huai said.
"It's all your fault!" Li Miao glared at Pei Huai angrily, then turned and went to the balcony to wash up.
Pei Huai coughed lightly after being scolded.
Having found nothing, just as he was about to lower the bed curtains, his sharp eyes spotted something. Pei Huai narrowed his eyes and reached out to grab it.
Just like the things left on his table.
The cat fur was also milky white and as soft as dandelion seeds.
Pei Huai confirmed his thoughts.
He looked at Li Miao, who was washing up in front of the sink.
Walk over there.
Pei Huai calmly raised his hand and showed the item to Li Miao: "Look what I found on your bed, cat hair."
With a snap, Li Miao was so startled that she dropped her toothbrush.
Oh no, is he going to be taken over by Pei Huai?
They've been captured and are being subjected to all sorts of bizarre research!
Li Miao's eyes flashed with a fierce light.
It seems that
The only option is to kill them to silence them, meow~!
