Introducing Qi into the body

Introducing Qi into the body

As Yu Zhu stepped into the lecture hall at Ying Tian Sect, the golden bells adorning her waist jingled. A smile curved Yu Zhu's lips; she was on time again today, not early. She'd keep up the good work.

The disciples who heard the bell couldn't help but glance sideways. Senior Sister Yu was really strange; she'd even made a magical artifact to keep track of time. Actually, Yu Zhu had transmigrated from the modern world. The moment she saw her name on the teacher recruitment list, without a sudden illness or a fall, she inexplicably transmigrated. Perhaps she had originally applied to the Ying Tian Sect High School in the cultivation world.

Yu Zhu sat down in front of the lectern. "For this lesson, we'll start with a question, beginning with the first student to my right. Please explain what qi is?"

"Qi is the raw material for cultivation. It is widely distributed and is divided into spiritual qi and demonic qi. Cultivators can refine qi into power, namely spiritual power and demonic power, by drawing qi into their bodies. Cultivators are also divided into spiritual cultivators and demonic cultivators."

"Good, you remember it very well. Next."

Yu Zhu had originally planned to teach a new lesson, but she heard from her senior sister that the sect leader was going to add a transfer student to her class today. Presumably, it was someone who valued her reputation as a top teacher in the Yingtian Sect; such things had happened quite often in the past eighteen years. Yes, she had been with the Yingtian Sect for eighteen years.

This is a new batch of disciples. After only a few lessons, Yu Zhu changed the new lessons to review lessons, giving the transfer students a chance to catch up and avoid delaying the teaching schedule. But why hasn't he arrived yet?

Just then, Sect Master Kongming Daozun suddenly appeared outside the door. With a swish, Yuzhu used her spiritual brush to leave a few lines of text in the void, "This is about the operation of drawing Qi into the body. You can try to understand it yourselves first. I will be right back."

"Sect Master Uncle, what brings you here?" Yu Zhu greeted him, but her eyes were already darting behind him. This was a relative of the Sect Master Uncle, a once-in-a-century occurrence.

Sure enough, a handsome young man stood there, tall and slender with striking features. He smiled at Yu Zhu when he saw her looking at him. Wow, a gentle and charming young man! Yu Zhu's eyes lit up.

Kongming coughed lightly, "This is Jingxu. He is very talented. You must teach him well and strive to help him master the Mirage Array and the Snowstorm Technique as soon as possible."

To Yu Zhu, these words translated as: "This is a top student I recruited. Teach him well and try to get him into Tsinghua or Peking University." Muttering to himself, Yu Zhu maintained his composed demeanor as a renowned teacher, "Yes, Principal." Kong Ming frowned slightly; this Yu Zhu was becoming increasingly unreliable. "Yes, Sect Master."

After giving his instructions, Kongming left.

"Jing, please come with me."

A hint of doubt flashed in Jingxu's eyes, and Yuzhu explained in time: "I am used to calling my students in class 'classmates'. I often use some, well, a bit strange expressions. You can understand them by referring to the context. If you really don't understand, just ask the other students."

Jing Xu nodded, "Okay, Senior Sister Yu."

His voice is nice, clear and melodious; I could encourage him to study more. But, "How did you know my surname is Yu?"

In fact, Yu Zhu herself didn't know if her surname was Yu. In her previous life, Yu Zhu's surname was Qin. In this life, in the original owner's memories, she was called Yu Zhu from the beginning.

"The sect leader introduced Senior Sister Yu beforehand. Senior Sister Yu is the most skilled teacher in the sect," Jing Xu replied, bowing his head.

"Oh, okay." Yu Zhu understood; it was to showcase the teaching staff to the top students in advance. She led Jing Xu to the front of the classroom. "Students, please be quiet."

The disciples quieted down. "Our class has a new student today. Let's give him a round of applause." A burst of applause followed. Yu Zhu nodded in satisfaction. "Now, let's have the new student introduce himself. Let's give him a round of applause." Another round of loud applause followed.

Perhaps because everyone was a novice cultivator who had just entered the sect, and it was their first time seeing a transfer student and Yu Zhu's class management style, they clapped with extra enthusiasm. Jing Xu was momentarily stunned by the thunderous applause.

Seeing this, Yu Zhu leaned closer to Jing Xu and whispered, "Introducing yourself is just saying your name and place of origin..."

"I understand the self-introduction." Not quite used to the bursts of applause, Jingxu cupped his hands and said, "Fellow disciples, my name is Jingxu, from Kanzhou. It is an honor to meet you all, and I hope we can learn from each other."

Without Yu Zhu's prompting, the disciples below clapped again. After the applause subsided, Yu Zhu had Jing Xu sit in an empty seat at the back and continued the lesson.

"Class, we'll learn about Qi induction in the next class. Now let's continue with the quiz. Jingxu just arrived, so we won't quiz him."

"Whose turn is it?" The disciple whose turn it was stood up. "Please give a practical explanation of the definition of the Demon Race."

"The demon race is... the demon god and his subordinates. They commit all sorts of evil deeds in the cultivation world," the disciple stammered.

"That's all?" Seeing her disciple shake his head in confusion, Yu Zhu sighed softly and said a few words that barely made sense. "The Demon Clan is one of the two great divine clans. After the divine clans left the divine path and went to other realms, there was only one Demon Clan member in the cultivation world, Tu Ye, who is also the Demon God. The Demon Clan we are talking about now was actually created by the Demon God using his own power. If we have to say, they can barely be considered half-demons."

"How did the demon god make the transformation?" a disciple asked curiously.

This really got to Yu Zhu. How exactly the Demon God turned demon cultivators into half-demons is still undetermined in the cultivation world. Some say the Demon God altered their bloodline and divine power. From a biological perspective, Yu Zhu thinks it might be similar to a genetic mutation, but the cultivation world defies modern physics, so biology can't really say for sure.

"It is said to have been modified using the power of bloodline, but the specifics of the modification will be left for you all to study in the future." As Yu Zhu was speaking, she suddenly felt the surrounding spiritual energy flowing towards one place—Jing Xu, who was drawing energy into his body!

The dense spiritual energy condensed into a solid form, and strands of emerald green spiritual energy surrounded Jing Xu. Yu Zhu looked at Jing Xu, then at the floating words behind him. "The connections personally arranged by the sect leader are really something else. He's already self-taught Qi cultivation?"

Actually, at least a thousand years ago, cultivation was relatively easy, but later the spiritual energy in this area decreased, making cultivation much more difficult. This is the second batch of disciples with no prior experience that Yu Zhu has trained, and it's the first time I've seen someone who has mastered the art of guiding qi into their body without a teacher.

When Jing Xu opened his eyes, he was startled to see everyone in the hall looking at him. Thinking that he had been caught daydreaming, he immediately stood up and said, "Senior Sister Yu, please forgive me. I was just lost in thought."

"No, no, you were just drawing qi into your body. How was it? Did you feel a force flowing through your body?" Yu Zhu wasn't entirely sure if he had succeeded since he opened his eyes so quickly.

Jing Xu sensed it and indeed felt a surge of power within his body. "I can definitely feel the power within me."

"Then you have successfully guided Qi into your body. Congratulations, Jingxu! You are the first person I have ever seen who can guide Qi into their body on their own. You have quite the talent." Yuzhu's tone was filled with surprise.

The other disciples all wore expressions of envy. Just as Yu Zhu was about to offer some words of encouragement, she heard the golden bell at her waist jingle.

This was an alarm clock she had painstakingly made to remind herself of her get off work hours. No one in Yingtian Sect used timekeeping devices, but Yuzhu needed to be precise with her time during class, never going over a minute or arriving a minute early.

"That's all for today's lesson. Students, go back and try to draw in your Qi. We'll start formal lessons tomorrow. get out of class dismissed!" With that, Yu Zhu disappeared in a flash, while Jing Xu was surrounded by his disciples who asked him about drawing in his Qi.

Yu Zhu had anticipated this; students in the cultivation world were incredibly competitive, seizing every opportunity to improve. After all, this was a world where battles could erupt at any moment outside the sect, and survival was paramount. However, Yu Zhu could relax; she didn't need to leave the sect.

After a busy morning, Senior Sister Yu returned to her courtyard, brewed a pot of tea, set out some snacks, lay down in her rocking chair, and opened a novel—the cultivation world should be called a storybook. Although she couldn't leave the sect, Yu Zhu often asked people to bring her things, especially storybooks; otherwise, these past hundred years would have been quite difficult to endure.

As the sun set, Yu Zhu returned to reality from the poignant love story between the female healer and the half-demon, and once again sensed the flow of spiritual energy.

Hmm? Someone's cultivating in the neighboring yard? Wasn't the neighboring yard empty? When did someone start living there?

Her thoughts drifted through her mind and then returned to what to eat tonight. In fact, with Yu Zhu's cultivation level, she could abstain from grains, but since she was a transmigrator, she still wanted to try her best to retain the habits of modern life. She didn't want to forget where she came from.

The next day, when it was time to teach the Qi-guiding method, Yu Zhu checked the Rejuvenation Pills she needed to bring and set off, entering the lecture hall just as the bell rang.

Everyone, including Jingxu, was already seated in the lecture hall.

"Class, today we're learning how to guide Qi into the body. Just yesterday, Jingxu did that. Jingxu, could you share your experience so the other students can have a reference?" Yuzhu had finally gotten a chance to have an excellent student share, and she had to make the most of it.

Jingxu stood up, pondered for a moment, and said, "I just followed the key points: calm your mind, close your eyes and sense the Qi..." He recited the key points that Yuzhu had written before.

Seeing the disciples' blank stares, Yuzhu said, "Uh, everyone's cultivation method is different. Jingxu's method may not be suitable for other students." It was her fault; she forgot that the top student's way of thinking was different from everyone else's.

"Everyone, just follow the instructions and try to clear your mind and feel the presence of 'qi'." Seeing that Jingxu had nothing to do, Yuzhu walked to his side, handed him a book, and whispered, "This is the content of the previous lessons. You can take a look. If you don't understand something, you can ask me. It's best to ask other students, since we may not see each other often."

Jingxu accepted it and thanked him softly.

Someone raised their hand, and Yu Zhu went over to give them guidance. The course was more than halfway through, and about half of the disciples had entered the Qi Induction state, mostly through their own comprehension. This class was essentially an elite class, with most of them possessing considerable talent. However, there were still half of the disciples for whom Yu Zhu had to use her own spiritual power to help.

Because Yu Zhu had absolutely no idea how to teach Qi cultivation, since the original owner of this body was already close to reaching the Nascent Soul stage when she transmigrated, she had no memory of Qi cultivation. She had only summarized this technique by auditing other teachers' classes, but cultivation has no fixed method, and some disciples require more detailed guidance.

Therefore, Yu Zhu developed a method to use his spiritual power to create an illusion around his disciples that would induce entry into their bodies, allowing the disciples to experience that mystery and then seek out that feeling.

The method works well, but it consumes a lot of spiritual energy and jade bamboo.

The original owner of this body had demon blood, and eighteen years ago she almost went mad from her cultivation. Her master placed a soul seal on her, which would cause her to suffer a backlash if she used too much power. Yu Zhu had tried it, and now she could use about 30% of her spiritual power at a time. If she exceeded that, her whole body would feel like it was being repeatedly rubbed against the ground, and the pain was directly proportional to the degree of excess.

While using her spiritual power to help her disciples find their rhythm, Yu Zhu secretly ate a Rejuvenation Pill to replenish her spiritual power. When the golden bell rang again, about 80% of the disciples had completed the Qi Induction.

"Congratulations to those who have successfully completed the Qi Induction and have officially embarked on the path of cultivation. Those who haven't yet should not be discouraged; you're just one step away. Go back and try again; you might just succeed. Class dismissed," Yu Zhu said listlessly.

After the disciples left the school, Yu Zhu took out the bottle of Rejuvenation Pills and shook it. Gone? She had used up a little too much spiritual energy today, and her body was already aching slightly. It seemed she could only wait for the pain to pass.

Suddenly, a slender hand holding a medicine bottle came into view. "Senior Sister Yu, are you going to retrieve your Yuan Dan?" It was Jing Xu.

"You haven't left yet?"

“I noticed that Senior Sister Yu seemed to be unwell, and coincidentally, I brought some Rejuvenation Pills with me.” Jing Xu handed over the medicine bottle.

Yu Zhu waved her hand, saying that new disciples only receive Rejuvenation Pills once every three months, "You should keep it for yourself."

"Senior Sister Yu, please take this. My family runs a business, and I prepared a lot before going up the mountain."

"Alright," Yu Zhu said, taking the medicine bottle and muttering, "So he's a rich kid after all." Unlike her, who could only earn a fixed salary from Ying Tian Sect, which, although the pay was good, still left her with a subtle sense of dissatisfaction.

A few breaths after taking the medicine, Yu Zhu felt the pain lessen. She propped herself up and said, "Let's go. I'll return the Yuan Dan to you next time."

The two walked together for a while, past the student dormitory. Seeing that Jingxu was still following behind, Yuzhu said, "Go back to your dormitory. Don't worry about me. I'm almost better now."
