After playing enough, the four little ones lay side by side on the soft lawn. The scent of the grass clung to their sleeves, tickling them but feeling very comfortable.
Gu Feng rested his head on his arm, a thin blade of grass dangling from his mouth, chewing it intermittently, savoring the slightly bitter taste with a hint of sweetness.
Luo Ya lay on her back, her legs kicking restlessly, while Luo Liang turned to look at her younger siblings beside her, her fingers unconsciously brushing against the dewdrops on the grass.
Luo Tianlei was the most clingy, lying down next to Luo Ya with his head almost resting on her shoulder.
The white clouds in the sky are like fluffy cotton wool, drifting slowly with the wind. The sunlight shines through the clouds and falls warmly on our faces.
Luo Ya suddenly turned to the side, propped her elbow on the grass, and looked at Gu Feng with bright eyes: "Ah Feng, what is your dream?"
"dream?"
Gu Feng paused, the blade of grass in his mouth catching in his throat. He subconsciously repeated it, somewhat dazed.
He never thought about that question; all he thought about every day was how to help the grandfathers at the welfare home grow vegetables.
Seeing this, Luo Ya stretched out a big yawn, which lifted her skirt slightly, revealing her slender ankles.
She waved to the sky: "Yes, dreams! Everyone should have dreams, just like me, I've already thought about them."
Gu Feng spat out the grass stalk in his mouth, turned over to look at her, his eyes full of curiosity: "So, Aya, what is your dream?"
"Mine—"
Luo Ya suddenly sat up, stretched out her hands towards the sky, her fingertips seemingly trying to touch the slowest-moving white cloud, her face full of longing: "I want to be a big star! To stand on the world's highest stage and receive a big award, so that the whole world will know me and admire me!"
She spoke with absolute certainty, her voice rising several decibels, as if she were announcing a grand plan.
"That's amazing."
Gu Feng exclaimed in genuine admiration, his eyes wide with amazement—he never even dared to dream of such a dazzling dream.
Luo Ya proudly raised her chin, then turned to Luo Liang beside her and shook her arm: "Hehe, sister, what is your dream? You can't say you don't have one, okay?"
Luo Liang chuckled as she was shaken, her voice gentle and soft, like a spring breeze across a lake: "Me... I want to be a Chinese language teacher in the future, teaching children to read poetry and write characters."
"That won't do!"
Luo Ya immediately objected, reaching out to press down on her shoulder: "I'll be a big star in the future, how will I have time to manage Mom's business? The family business depends on you!"
Luo Liang simply patted her hand gently, then turned her gaze to Luo Tianlei, who was lying obediently to the side, and smiled tenderly: "Isn't there still Leilei?"
"My dream is Xiaoya's dream!" Luo Tianlei seemed to have finally gotten his chance to speak. He sat up abruptly and said with a simple smile, "Xiaoya wants to be a big star, so I'll be her bodyguard and protect her!"
"You're such a clingy person!"
Loya kicked his shin lightly, but not hard, a smile playing on her lips: "Even your dreams have to stick to me, can't you have your own ideas?"
Luo Tianlei just scratched his head and grinned foolishly.
Luo Ya quickly turned her gaze back to Gu Feng and pressed, "Feng, have you thought it through? Don't tell me you don't have any dreams."
Gu Feng's gaze followed the white clouds in the sky as they slowly moved. After thinking carefully for a moment, he said, "Grandpa said that Caizhou is an international metropolis, very prosperous. I want to work there in the future. Oh, and Grandpa also said that Caizhou's moat is particularly beautiful and has a history of several hundred years. I want to go and see it."
"That doesn't count!"
Loya immediately retorted, "This is just a plan, not a dream! What else is there besides these?"
Gu Feng paused, gently picking at the soil on the lawn, his voice becoming softer but exceptionally sincere: "And... I want a happy and fulfilling little family, a warm house, and loving family members."
The lawn suddenly fell silent, with only the sound of the wind blowing.
Luo Liang turned her head to look at Gu Feng's serious profile, wondering what he was thinking.
Luo Ya opened her mouth, but didn't refute it, though her eyes were somewhat vacant.
Luo Tianlei looked at Gu Feng with a half-understanding expression, then reached out and patted his arm: "Brother Feng, your dream will definitely come true!"
Gu Feng smiled, looked up at the sky, where white clouds were still drifting slowly and the sunlight was still warm.
He suddenly felt that such a dream seemed to shine brightly as well.
